Chapter 167: She Is A Killer
“Nora! I never knew that you know how to play football.”
“Wooooo! Nora! Nora!” a few studentls from the other class cheered while her own class looked at her dumbfounded. The girls who had refused to pair with her using the excuse of her injured hand, felt their cheeks burning.
But they felt an intense hatred for Nora too. She never told them she could play. She had intentionally embarrassed them.
Jamie did not have a good nature. But when it comes to his game, he respects the players.
“If you want to join the team, you will always be welcome.” many nodded in his team. They have known they have been too rough with her. Enough to get a red card.
They were just lucky that the coach was lost in his own thoughts.
“I am just an injured girl earning some points. What are you even talking about?” Nora looked at them with innocent confusion that onl burnt their cheeks.
Mikey winked at her as she left the ground.
“You only won because of her. There will be no next time.” Mikey warned them and went to the coach. The game was not a competition. But the inter school competition is coming closer. They have a team to make.
Jamie rubbed his nape and looked around. It took him only a gaze to find Penny. She was glaring at him with a disappointed look and he sighed.
She had never told him that her sister played that well. She had only herself to blame. He ignored Penny and looked at the cheerleading team. With her red pixie cut, Lucy looked stunning. Such a badass and bold girl. He smiled at her but she was not looking at him. She was talking with her team members with a bold smirk on her face.
This girl! She was getting more and more unruly. Lucy had always brought a water bottle for him when the game ended and a towel. She had even offered to wipe his sweat so many times. But today, she did not even notice that the game had ended and was chatting freely with her friends.
“It is all because of her makeover! The excitement would die in a few days. Then she knew where she had to return.”
“Jamie! Here.” Jamie nodded to the coach and ran to him.
All the players were already standing there with their hands clasped behind their back. The coach looked angry.
“I have decided the names of players joining the final team. Dan, Rob, Sam, Chris.. Nora and Mikey. Mikey, you would be the captain so prepare your team well. There should be proper COORDINATION in a team.” he spat the word looking at Jamie.
Jamie’s face was ashen. His eyes were wide and his lips parted with shock.
“Coach! You can not do that. I have been representing our school for two years. Forget about being the captain! I am not even in the team? What kind of a joke was that.” he gritted his teeth. His face was red with rage. “This is unfair. I will complain about it.”
“Why are you making such a fuss? Have I not chosen five members from your team too to give both teams an equal chance?” The coach frowned and Jamie felt like he was going to lose it.
“Yes, five members had been chosen. I am not fighting for my team. I am fighting for myself. I am the best player of the school. Why am I not on the team?” he asked, barely holding the thread of patience. How he wanted to hold the collar of this foolish coach and dmean an answer.
“Here! You gave the answer yourself.” the coach clapped, “since everyone is sorted. Go and ask Nora, Mikey.” Mikey looked at Jamie with a warning look before running away.
While Jamie frowned.
“What was the answer? That I am the best player?” He didn’t understand it. Chris rolled his eyes.
“No, the answer is, you are fighting for yourself, not the team.” the coach nodded with pride toward Chris and firmly looked at Jamie.
The kind and carefree smile on his face was gone.
“You got a good player. A good seedling in your team by sheer luck. Yet, instead of nourishing her, you attacked her. Just to prove your ego that you are better, you jeopardized teamwork, your team members and even winning the game.
I do not need a fool in the team. A egomaniac who would only play for himself and throw a tantrum when the ball is not passed to him.” The voice was low and cold and it left shivers on Jamies spine.
He had never seen the coach being cold. He only cursed like a hotblooded person sometimes and it was easy to deal with him.
“Coach! I know that I made a mistake.” Jamie gritted his teeth. It was all because of Penny. Why did he make such a foolish promise! “But I will not repeat it. Even I accept that Nora is a good player and if I teach her, she could be the pillar of the team. Everyone would underestimate her because of her injured hand. But she would surprise them. She could be our trump card!” he boasted without caring a bit that he had tried to hurt her more than once just now.

Everyone looked at him oddly. But he did not care as long as he could convince the coach.
“She is a good player and can be our trump card. But it had nothing to do with her injured hand or you, Jamie. You still do not understand and I have better work to do than being your babysitter. So fuck off! I need a strategy for my new team.”
“….” Jamie stared at the coach with disbelief. But when he noticed a mocking smirk on another member;s face, he took a step back and left.
“They would regret it! They would never be able to win without me.” he gritted his teeth and threw his bottle on the ground when he noticed Mikey bringing Nora with him. When their eyes met, Mikey had a mocking look.
“loser!”
