Chapter 171: Fighting For You

“Ha! YOU ARE LYING!” The screeching voice forced many to cover their ears.

They all looked at Penny with a conclusion.

“We do not even need to see the recording to know the truth, penny. If you are in so much pain, go to infirmary.

“Yes, stop creating scenes like this. They are pathetic. It had only been a few days when you played that notes trick. Do you not get tired at all?”

Penny did not know who shouted in the crowd. But many of them nodded and left the hallways. Penny realized she had shown too much force and they did not see her in pain anymore.

“But..” the girl beside Penny held her arms and shook her head.

“They have realized. If you continued and Nora showed the recording, you would be in trouble. At this moment, let them go. You should find some people who support you and let them fight in your place. Either they succeed or fail, it has nothing to do with you. After all, you don’t even know that they were fighting for you.” the girl advised and only then did Penny close her eyes.

Her body is slowly relaxing. But the hatred in her heart was increasing with leaps and bounds. It was all Nora’s mistake. She had done it!

But when she opened her eyes, Nora was not there. She had left with the crowd.

“You should go to infirmary, Penny. The wound looked pretty bad.” Penny nodded. She had hurt herself with full force to make it realistic.

“Spread the rumor. Her reputation must take a blow.” she demanded stubbornly. The other girl could only sigh and nod before pulling Penny to infirmary.

Nora took hasty steps. She called the number again. This time the call was connected with a single ring.

“If you wanted my help, you could have summed it up later. Do I need to hear the running commentary of your issues? ” The voice from the other side was full of disdain. But it did not look angry as Nora had expected.

Her stiff body relaxed a bit by hearing him.

“I did not know Penny would.. Forget it! Did you check the food sample I have given you earlier?” Alric’s grip on the phone tightened. His eyes narrowed.

“Why?” The one word held a storm behind it. Nora closed her eyes. Why? She wanted to ask herself that too.

She should be following Lucy for her safety. She had promised the girl that she would take care of the dangers.

Yet, when she remembered the look in Alex’s eyes before he left, her heart shook. She knew Alex would make a mistake.

“Alex might be in danger. And he will not listen to me this time.” she confessed. Yet, she was already walking toward his room with urgency.

“Hey! Where are you going?” the guard at the door stopped her. “It is past meeting hours.” he scolded her and blocked her way.

“I need your help, sir. Alex needs me.” she begged on the phone as if she was pleading with him to help.

He felt a strange knot forming in his heart.

“Pass him the phone.” Yet, when Alric spoke, his voice became cold and ruthless. Nora passed the phone to the guard.

Her heart beating so fast and her mind aching. She knew she had crossed the boundaries. Once the guard would hear Alric’s voice and let her go. Alex would know that she was working for Alric.

There was no way that the guard would keep his mouth shut. Alex already hates him, now he will hate her even more. Her heart felt heavy as if someone had stabbed her there.

Yet, she did not let herself weaken. She noticed the widening eyes of the guard. And did not wait for him to return her phone. She was already running toward her room.

Last time, he had brought her forcefully. And then hid her in his room. She had to jump from the wall to save herself. In just a month, how things had changed.

The boys looked at her with shock and confusion as she ran toward the room and knocked it.

Once, twice, thrice! She kept knocking it with such force that the door shook under her pressure.

“Hey! You will break the door this way.” the guad shouted behind her, trying to hold his breath. He held his knees and heaved.

“You ran before I could inform you. Alex is not in the dorm. He had left a few minutes ago.” The man finally found his voice and Nora stopped.

“The door is locked. So stop shaking it. Will you?” he frowned when Nora did not move. His voice was full of impatience and frustration now.

“Leave girl, before I complain against you. Alex is not here.” he gritted his teeth and Nora finally reacted.

“Alex is not here.” she softly repeated those words.

“Yes, so take it and leave.” he took out her phone from his pocket and passed it to her. A crowd had gathered around them, irritating him further.

“Mikey!” she whispered, making the guard grit his teeth.

“He had not returned from the training either. Miss Nora you have created enough ruckus for today. You should leave now before I complain to the dean.” Nora bit her lips. Perhaps, she was thinking way too much. He must have returned to his friends to have a party or he was in a bad mood and went to drink outside.

She nodded. “I am sorry for creating trouble here.” many exchanged glances. A few of them were Victor’s friends. And though he did not inform them, he knew that she was chasing Nora.

For Nora to come here looking for Alex in a disheveled state when Victor was not there, they felt uneasy.

“Should we go and follow her or inform Victor first?” asked one but the other only shook his head.

“We should not meddle in their affairs. We do not even know what has happened here. When Victor returns, we will talk to him then.”
