Chapter 177: Following Same Circle

“What did you do? She said that you have run away with Alex!” Before Nora could reply, Emma had already given an answer too. Nora rolled her eyes. Not a least bit affected by the response.

“Lucy, Emma! Did you follow her? Was she safe?” Nora asked again, making Lucy sigh.

“You girl! You are in a terrible situation Yet you are only worried about her?!” Emma stared at the ceiling and sighed. She looked exhausted. “Dealing with you burns my youth. I will age early.” she cursed. “Yes, a few fools had teased her and attacked her when she did not respond. But the rogue did not hold much power. Adam and Lucy held them themself so I did not reveal myself.” she snorted.

“The girl used a sizzler pan to attack one of the ruffians.” an amused laughed relaxed Nora lightly. She knew Penny was going to attack Lucy the way she was looking at Lucy.

“But what about you?” Nora looked at the ivy drip in her hands. The nurse had told her that she had lost a lot of blood and her wound was deep.

“I am going to rest in a hotel then. I will return for exams later.” Emma gasped. She looked around as if she was afraid that someone might hear her.

“Don’t tell me that you really ran away with Alex. What about that chocolate boy? He looked so furious. He had broken a few of the boy’s teeth. They all were spouting nonsense about you.. so,”

“Emma, i will talk to you later!” Nora cut the call before the girl could gossip more. She nodded at the guests standing at her door.

An elderly woman walked in holding the hands of a young girl for support. Her face was pale and stained with tears.

She forced a smile on her face and nodded at Nora.

“I am Alex’s mother.” She introduced herself. “Alric told me that he had a fight with his friends and was injured. You have informed Alric about it and brought him here. Thank you.” she worriedly looked at Nora’s injuries. Her eyes filled with gratitude and worry.

Nora swallowed. She did not know where to look, but she could not see the woman’s eyes. They were so kind and sincere that guilt clutched her tightly.

She did it for money. Yet..

“Do not worry, your bills are paid by us. And you will stay in this vip ward for two weeks to make sure you have enough rest. If you still have any demand..”

“Amaya!” The young girl looked aggrieved when she was cut in the middle. “Aunt!” the woman shook her head and held Amaya’s hand tightly, silencing her.

“If you ever need anything, you can call me on this number.” The woman took out a card, noticing the awkwardness between them. “It is not for returning the favor. You have saved my son and it could not be valued. But I will feel better if I can help you with something too.” Nora stared at the card.

She would not ask for Alex’s mother’s help though she knew that her help could achieve Nora’s goal immediately. The woman held a lot of power in social circles. One word from her could destroy her aunt completely.

She noticed hesitation on Nora’a face and sighed. The girl was kinder than she had thought. Even if Nora had asked for their company, she would have given it to her without flinching. But she was even hesitating to take the card.

She walked closer and patted Nora’s hand. She looked at the ivy tube with a sigh.

“Do not think so much, child. I know you are from the Stone family. Right?” Nora’s eyes widened before she nodded and took the card.

“I knew your mother. We belong to the same circle of friends. Though we were not close, I knew she was a kind woman. It had been so long.” the woman took a deep breath and forced another smile on her face. “You can call me Aunt. I will ask Alex to bring you home later. And..”

“Aunt! Nora still needs rest. And so do you!” the young girl following the woman frowned slightly. “If you do not return now, I will not allow you to come again.” the woman smiled instead of feeling angry. She did not mind being scolded like this.

Nora stared at the young girl. As if feeling, Nora’s gaze. The young girl stared at Nora too.

“I remember you. You were the first ranker in Xavier’s school. Right?” Nora nodded. She remembered the girl had introduced herself as “Amaya!” she had her hands wrapped around Alric at that time.

Though Amaya had a serene expression, Nora felt a strange hostility coming from her. After her rebirth, Nora had strong intuition. This had saved her a few times and so did Alex. But she did not understand why Amaya would be hostile toward her. She did not even know her personally.

“Oh, then you must help her, Amaya. I will ask Alric to personally coach you too. You will excel in the exams. If only Alex works hard too. She was such a brilliant child when he was young. But now, all he thinks about is rebelling.” the old woman shook her head with disappointment. “But Nora, please do come to meet me. There is something I want to discuss with you.” the woman stared at Nora with pleading eyes. She only smiled when Nora nodded. Amaya’s expression changed. Not everyone has permission to visit her! Even she had to wait for months to get permission when they first met! Nora got it, just like that?!

“Of course Aunt. I will take special care of Nora.” the woman smiled brightly. “But now, you are coming with me.” She pulled Alex’s mother out of the room.

She turned to give a last glance to Nora when they reached the door. Her gaze confirmed that she did not like Nora.

Nora only smiled back. Not showing hostility at all.

“Phew! How had I offended her?”
