Chapter 181: CHECKING Her Wounds!

“What if they said it only for you to not accuse Penny? What if it was part of her plan? To ruin you?” he pressed hard, his voice shaky again. His chest heaved and his shaky voice was barely able to hide the rage he was feeling.

“Victor! I do not think she could be this vicious.” she was much more vicious than this, but only when she would grow up! Nora shook her head at those memories.

“Forget it! I will still file a complaint against it and let the police investigate it. Whoever was behind it would regret to target you.” he swore with rage in his eyes. It stunned her for a second.

Someone would stand up for her? Fight for her safely and punish those who had harmed her? Her chest swelled just thinking about it and her eyes moistened.

Victor was stunned to see her glistening eyes. His eyes widened but she shook her head.

“I am hungry!” she sniffled and opened the box. “It is only because of my hunger.” Victor started hard at her. His expressions slowly changing, his face softening.

He took the box from her and opened it for her. But he did not pass it to her but took the spoonful of soup and blew on it.

“Here!” Nora stared at the soup in his hands as if she was looking at an alien she could not recognize.

“Come on, it would not taste good if it gets cold. I have specially woken my mother up from her sleep and forced her to cook it for you. I even helped her with the ingredients to make the process faster.” Nora stared at the grumbling Victor. He looked like a child but she could not help herself from smiling.

A smile that came from her heart. She felt blessed. For the first time in her life, she felt living was not that bad!

She opened her mouth and ate mouthful after mouthful from his hands. No matter if she was slow as sloth or eating hurriedly that a little soup was splashed on his fingers, Victor did not complain. He had such a sweet and caring look on his face as he fed her. Often laughing and cracking a joke.

Nora even forgot that she was injured. She had a contended look on her face as she rubbed her stomach after finishing the soup.

“Your mother is a magician. I have never eaten something so tasty.” she licked her lips, savoring the last drop of soup on her lips. Victor stared at her with dark eyes. Slowly, he leaned and licked her lips too.

“Mmm, it does taste delicious.” he looked at her with desire in her eyes that stopped her from moving. Her heart fluttered. The air between them changed when the door was opened.

“Oh! … oh!” Nora pushed Victor away. Even with her thick skin and calm attitude, she could not face the giggling and embarrassed nurse.

“I was just checking her wounds.” he spouted abruptly, making the nurse laugh again.

“Alright, but you should wait till she is discharged to check them in detail. You can not do that CHECKING in hospital.” she winked at Victor with a meaningful look on her face. Victor flushed and cursed in his heart.

He had not planned it. But when Nora licked her lips, he could not control himself. He stealthy looking at her laughing eyes and sighed. At least, she did not blame him. He smiled back at her and held her hands. His heart felt warm and blessed.

“I have only come to remind you to take your medicines. And.. he had to leave now. But I will give you a few more minutes.” The nurse left when Nora nodded and took her medicines.

Victor passed her a glass of water and then kissed her forehead.

“I will bring breakfast for you in the morning. Nora, when will you be discharged?” For some reason, he felt hurt looking at her lying on the hospital bed with a pale look on her face.

He did not ask, but he could see so many bandages on her body that it hurts him.

“It will take three to five days. They ate to make sure that I did not catch any infection. Victor, about the dorms..” she hesitated when he frowned.

“Are you worried about the foolish rumor? Do not worry, I will handle it.” he assured but she shook her head.

“That is what I am worried about, Victor. I do not want you to handle it.” his frown deepened and he paused.

“Nora..”

“Victor, if someone had tried to injure me intentionally. They want me to suffer. The rumors had been spread intentionally. If you stop them, they will realize they have not been successful and make another plan.” Understanding filled him and he slowly nodded.

“So you want them to believe that you are injured and I should act like I am hurt by your betrayal. Thinking that they have succeeded, they would not make another plan till the day of exam.” Nora nodded back, relieved that he understood her reasons.

“Sigh! If only I had been stronger to protect you.” he looked hurt, “but do not worry, if you want them to fool you, I will make sure they will be fooled till the end. I will take care of everything, you should only concentrate on getting better.” he leaned and pecked her cheeks again. “With breakfast, I will bring your computer and notes. Do not worry Nora, I will make sure you have everything you need. But if you still need something, just call me. I will be waiting.” he looked at her with warm eyes filled with love and care that she felt pain had left her already.

“Yes, thank you!” he shook his head and patted her chest before leaving. Nora smiled to herself as she closed her eyes. “It is not that bad to be here!”
