Chapter 199: She Was Dumped!

Penny stared at the watch and frowned. Kate noticed and sighed.

“It’s so late. I do not think Lucy will return tonight.” She wrapped her arms around penny. “How about I give her a call and ask first?” She wanted to ask Penny to stop waiting and sleep. But she hesitated when she noticed her sad look.

She dialed Lucy’s number but someone cut the call instantly. Frowning, she dialed again only to get the same result. The call was only answered a fifth time.

“Lucy..”

“Lucy is busy! Do you not know? If someone cut your call that meant they could not talk to you at that moment.” Before Kate could ask something, she heard a moan.

The room was silent and Kate had placed the phone to speak. So even Penny heard Jamie’s voice and then softly moaned. Her eyes reddened. Here she was.. Waiting for Lucy to come and study together while she was having fun with her lover!

Jamie! He used to wag his tail around her all the time. She had asked Jamie to follow Lucy. only because of her grace did he accept her and now.. She was ignoring her because of Jamie!? How dare she!

“Jamie!” she spoke in a cold voice. “Where are you?”

Jamie stiffened on the other side. He had to keep Penny silent.

“Aah, Penny. So it is you.” he smiled. “We have come to eat dinner together and we are only eating ice cream.” ice cream! Penny felt infuriated. She knew Jamie called his erection a lollipop or ice cream stick to others.

It was his way to boost and hide the truth at the same time.

“Yes, sister Penny. I am only licking a sweet ice cream.” Lucy chuckled in the background. Even a fool could feel the steam from the phone.

“Lucy!” Jamie painted. Penny cut the call and threw the phone on the ground.

“Crash!” the screen broke at once only then did Penny return to her senses. She did not realize when she took the phone from Kate and threw it on the ground.

She looked at Kate and noticed her horrified and shocked gaze. Great! Not only had she been humiliated but now she had to explain it to Kate too. She wanted to slap Kate for being so foolish. But she took a deep breath and controlled her emotions.

“Ha! I have told her to not trust Jamie so easily. Yet she did. If a man did not even care for you when you wear simple clothes. Is it not clear that he is only after you looks and body. Why did this foolish girl not understand!” She held her forehead and sat on the sofa looking hurt and upset.

Kate looked at the broken phone and Penny. She did not react at one and assured Penny. Noticing it, Penny covered her face with her hands and started sobbing.

“I am sorry Kate. These days I am so tense that I am losing my temper many times. I was so hurt and worried about Lucy that I broke your phone. I am such a bad friend. I will understand if you hate me and leave me too.” her shoulders quived and soft sobs filled the room.

Kate closed her eyes and sighed. She rubbed her forehead. Even she felt that Penny was overreacting. But thinking that Penny and Lucy had been childhood friends and she did not understand the bond much, she relented.

“Not at all. I will buy a new phone. I am more worried about you. Are you okay penny?” she sat beside Penny.

Penny held her hand and leaned on her shoulders.

“I am not okay, kate. I wanted a much better person for Lucy. But I could not stop her. I think it is time to let go of my worries and let her do what she wanted.” she wiped the fake tears off her face. “You do not need to buy a new phone, I will order one for you. This is the least I could do.” She took out her mobile and showed a few options to Kate.

Kate did not like any and wanted to refuse. But when she looked at her worried face, she did not have the heart to refuse.

“Penny, i..”

“Hmm, I like this one. I am ordering it.” In the end, Penny did not wait for Kate’s reply. She ordered the cheapest phone on the list. It was not like she did not have money. But Penny did not think Kate was worth more. She is just a weak and foolish girl Penny had taken as a charity. It was already enough that she was ready to spend on her.

She hurriedly completed the formalities and booked the phone.

“There, it is my apology!” Penny stood up suddenly, surprising Kate.

“Yes, since Lucy did not come. I am going to study with Sharon. She is good with economics and physics too. We will share notes and study together till late. You can sleep after dinner.” Kate frowned when Penny took out party wear dresses to try. She took twenty minutes to choose a dress after looking at the mirror so many times. It did not look like she was just going to study with a nerd.

“Penny! Shall I come with you? Sharon is an intelligent girl. I will learn a few things too.” She stood up, not sure where Penny was going. What if she makes another mistake, she regrets it? As a friend, if she would be there, she could control Penny.

But Penny only laughed.

“Oh Kate, we are not going to study basics. You will only get bored if you come with us. Do not waste your time in higher studies.” Penny looked at the broken phone with disdain, “Take rest and clean this mess.”
