Chapter 207: An Extra Seat

“I am not here to hear excuses. I have left an important meeting to be here. Are you saying you will not change the result?” frowned another man sitting in the corner when the door opened again.

A woman entered the room and nodded at every person sitting and then smiled at the principal.

“Thank you principal!” she slightly bowed her head. “You gave my niece a chance to participate. In return, I have brought this.” She took out a check from her bag and placed it on Principal Kai’s table.

The office was filled with uproar. They all started speaking at once with their faces red.

“What is the meaning of this! You are so brazen to offer bribes so openly!”

“Such a shameless woman. But it was the principal at fault. How could he accept the bribe from a student’s family?”

“That is enough. I am calling the police.”

“Just you dare! Take photographs, we can use them as proof against them.” all kinds of voices started to fill the room. The room heated but Sophia just glared at many of them.

“What does it have to do with you? Bribe? It is just a check for the welfare of the school and their students. Have you not given these cheques at some point of time?” her face was cold and haughty as she spoke arrogantly looking at them as if they did not deserve her attention.

Many of them were stunned by her brazen attitude. They knew that the Stone family was overbearing but they never knew they had no limits.

“Ha! You.. just you wait!” a woman could not accept it and took out her mobile to call the police.

“Sir and madam. If you please give me a minute to explain!” Principal Kai spoke in a calm but loud enough voice that everyone could hear them between their heated arguments.

Many paused and stared at each other. But Sophia’s eyes narrowed. She bit her lips and snorted.

“Principal Kai, since you have supported our family, you do not need to worry about them. Me and my husband will protect your position. You do not need to lie or flatter them.” Sophia sneered inside. She and her husband had pressured Principal Kai so many times to rusticarte Nora. or at least dismiss her from the dorms.

But the man had not listened. He had only made excuses and talked about rules and principles. But she was sure that he must be receiving other benefits to support her this much.

Now that she has gotten this chance. She would not let it go. She would make sure not only the principal would be fired from her position but Nora had nowhere to go. As long as she returned to the house, Sohpia would handle that bitch easily.

Nora would regret being born at that time. Her eyes glowed viciously as she imagined Nora rubbing her nose on the ground in front of them with blood covering her face and body. Her chest swell just thinking about it and her face beamed.

Her look was pompous for others.

“Ha! This is enough.” the woman threatened before dialing the number and called the police at once.

Everyone nodded with satisfaction. They dialed a few numbers too. Two of them called journalists, while one of them called for the board of the school. From police to media. Everyone was on their way.

Thinking about it, Principal Kai sighed and rubbed his forehead with a gloomy look on his face. He had made a bet with Nora that he could explain them and nothing would happen. She was creating a hype for nothing. But the shrewd girl had told him that there would be enough publicity to shake the whole school. How could she have planned this or predicted that they would behave so foolishly!

“Are you regretting it now?” asked the man again with a sigh. “There is still time.” but Sophia Stone pulled a chair and sat on it haughtily. The screeching voice paused for all of them.

They frowned at her.

“You do not need to worry. I will call my husband. He would handle this matter.” she lied with a smile. She had to make sure Principal Kai would not change his decision under the pressure even if she had to lie for that.

The man smiled wryly as he looked at everyone glaring at Mrs Stone.

“The inter school competition had the mayor and all the other school’s principals included. Do you think I have the power to cheat in such a prestigious program? You are overestimating my power and guts.” he sighed and rubbed his forehead again. “But since none of you want to listen, I will not speak until there is the media and the so -called police force here.”

“…” his voice made them pause and look at each other. Sophia had an ominous feeling in her heart. But it could not be possible. This time, not only Penny but every student had confirmed that Nora had not given the exams. Yet she was in the top ten! How could that be within the rules?

Many had the same question in their mind. But a few of them were smarter than others.

“Principal Kai, could it be that the girl had given the exam sitting separately because she was injured. If that is the case, the matter could be cleared as long as her copy and marks would be displayed.” he explained softly and many stiffened. Even Sophia stared at Principal Kai intently but the man only smiled and shook his head.

“I am afraid that is not the case, Mr Palmer. Leonora Stone had not given the exam in any way.” His words relieved Sophia but others looked infuriated.

“Then why!” Mr Palmer could not understand.

“Because she had submitted a thesis about the development of a cure for cancer. And it won her an extra seat!”

“She had done what..?” a woman was stunned!
