“What if I don’t go?” Nora took a deep breath. Her face was covered with cold sweat. She had eaten a bunch of different antibiotics and allergy resistant medicine last night and had been stressed the whole morning. She wanted to lie down and sleep.

“You have been up the whole night.” Alisha looked at her exhausted face and nodded. “Then I will go and inform the teacher, we are not going.”

“Why are you not going?” Nora frowned. “I will only sleep in my room. I do not need someone to look after me.” but Alisha shook her head. She held Nora’s hands and sighed.

“Nora, there were so many students above me. They have a better chance of being selected. If not for your notes, I would not have been here. Even if I fail now, I have achieved a lot. I do not care about a trip or relaxing in a resort. I will just look around and buy a souvenir for my friends.” looking at the sincere respect on her face, Nora felt a headache. She did not want to tangle herself in emotions.

If she was not careful enough, she would either harm them or be harmed by them. But she knew Alisha would not change her decision and sighed.

“Nah, it would be a waste. I would rather rest in the resort and have a good massage.” she rubbed her forehead, “i need it.” Before Alisha could convince her otherwise, Nora started walking. Despite her sickness and exhaustion, she was walking faster than Alisha. Alisha had to run a few times to catch up to her.

“Do you know, that place even has hot springs there. I am not going to come out for the whole day.” a girl giggled and they heard many talking.

All the selected students of various states had joined the chance. When they saw Nora walking closer, many came forward to congratulate her. She was like a celebrity between them.

Penny watched from a distance. Her cold and gloomy eyes were full of malice.

“Your sister is now like a celebrity. But honestly, what is so good about getting good marks? We all are going to inherit our family business. Does it matter if we have a few medals in the future if we do not have any wealth on our name.” Penny blinked her eyes and turned to look at the young man. He was a senior student.

“And you are..”

“I am from Illuminates, I hope you have heard the name.” He took out his parent’s card. “My father had recently signed a contract with your father.”

“Ah, you are the heir of the biggest electrical appliances company.” she nodded and smiled. “This is my father’s first time trying that field. I hope your family guides him well.”

“Ah! Not to mention it. At least you did not tease me by calling it light bulbs.” he laughed and so did Penny.

He was a tall and handsome man with bright eyes and a fair face. He was tall, slender and had a sexy appeal to him. Penny smiled. Even if Nora had earned shallow praise, they would forget her name in a few days. As long as she made sure that she did not proceed further!

They stood there and talked about random things like working for their parent’s companies and how they spend time socializing. Getting the attention of a young and handsome man had eased Penny’s worries.

As they sat in the cars, Kane sat beside Penny. He boldly placed a hand on her shoulders when she closed her eyes and pretended to be asleep.

Nora was sitting in the front seat with the driver. She eyes them in the mirror and sighed. At least, their attention would not be on her now. She tightly held her abdomen the whole way.

When they reached a resort, the teachers were already there with the keys.

“Three girls are to share a room because the number of students increased at the last moment. For simplicity, we have chosen the same room for each school’s students but if you want to switch them, you are free to do so. After all, who is going to sleep tonight.” the treacher chuckled softly. She looked more relaxed now that she knew one of their students was selected.

“We have arranged trekking on a small mountain and a few sight games. We can try treasure hunting too if you all allow it. But before that, we will have lunch together. So go and freshen up in your rooms. We will meet here in an hour.” After distributing the keys, the teachers left, giving the students time to decide.

A few students changed their rooms. Alisha looked at Nora and Penny awkwardly while holding the key.

“That..”

“I am not going to change the room.” Penny sighed, “we are sisters. It would leave a bad image if we change rooms.” Nora snorted before Penny could continue.

“Sisters! The word sounds so Phony after you mixed drugs in my dinner last night. Who knows if you try to strangle me in my sleep tonight or worse, mix poison in my water.”

“…” Alisha was stunned and Penny’s eyes widened. She had never expected Nora to confront her without proof.

“Nora!” she looked around, afraid that others would believe her lies.” What nonsense are you spouting? Have you lost your mind completely? I have not approached you in the past three days. Mixing something in your dinner? How could I do that when the teachers were keeping an eye on me all this time?”

Penny knew that she had not left a single trace. Even if Nora was tired, nothing could be proved but she felt uneasiness looking at Nora’s confident face.

“We do not need to argue over it. I walked in the hallways of the hotel and noticed every hallway was equipped with my cameras. As long as we check the footing when the server had left my dinner on the table, we will know for sure if someone had spiked my meal or not. What do you say, Penny? Do you have the confidence to check it once we return tomorrow?”
