Chapter 216: To Hurt Herself!

All the students in the restaurant stood up. It was not until this moment that both the students and teachers realized a series of accidents had happened.

“Are you all right?” The girl sitting next to Nora was so scared that her face turned pale. Mouth trembling, she asked Nora, “Did it scald you? Show me, quickly!”

She was so frightened that she was speaking in a tearful tone.

Another hot-tempered girl stood up and yelled furiously at the waiter, the troublemaker who was squatting on the floor. “What is wrong with you?! How can you be so careless at your job? Call the manager. I will not leave if he did not fire you at once! Are you an idiot?! Don’t you know that this bowl of soup almost poured onto Nora?!”

Penny glared at the girl viciously. She was the one injured, yet many girls ran to Nora at once and only then they came for her.

“Penny, are you alright? You should be quick and apply ice on the burn or it will leave blisters.” a girl came forward to help Penny.

Penny nodded politely when the girl looked at Nora.

“But Nora, that was so cool. It is often believed that nerds are not good at physical training. But girl, you are defying all the legends. Not only are you perfect at studies but you are so good when it comes to reflex actions!” hearing her nod and they all praised Nora.

Penny’s face was twisted. It looked so ugly that she wanted to strangle the girl for praising Nora.

Tightening his lips, Kane walked over from another table and glanced at the crowd praising Nora. He squatted and whispered to Penny, who issued a shrilling scream before, “Did it burn you? Where?”

Nora smiled at the fan looking girl. She bent over to pick up the chair which was knocked over. Step by step, she walked over to Penny, who was pretending to be a victim by squatting on the ground. She hunched over slowly.

“He who is unjust is doomed to destruction. Penny, you should feel lucky that it was only a bowl of hot soup that you knocked over. If…” Glared at by Kane, Nora approached Penny’s ear. Her breaths were icy, and her words were piercing like the tips of needles. “If it was a knife or the like, one of your legs would have been ruined.”

“You are trying to hurt me because you don’t want me in the science contest, aren’t you? Tut. A bowl of hot soup is nothing. I am waiting for your ultimate trick, Penny.”

Her voice was so low that only the two of them could hear it. Her sharp words frightened Penny so much that her heart palpitated in horror.

Penny hid her head in her arms. Her fingernails sunk so hard into her arms that they twinged. Whimpering, she suffered the pain without looking up. For that moment, she felt she did not know Nora at all.

“Do not cross the line, Miss Stone. Or you would regret it.” Kane did not accuse Nora of anything. But his voice was cold and dark. Instead, he said in a low voice, “Come, I will help you to your room. If you return to your room and soak your legs in cold water, you will feel better.” And then, he held up Penny, heading to the lodge.

“Attendants, fetch a flask of ointment for scalded wounds.” Mr Summer walked over from the table for teachers. Instead of chasing after Nora, he walked towards Nora and patted on her shoulder. “I know this matter is not that simple. But endure it for a day, she will be gone by then.” he looked so helpless that Nora only nodded.

She could not seek justice from teachers. No one had seen Penny doing anything. It was already a miracle that no one had accused her of hurting Penny, even when she had shouted for it.

Only this showed that the future was changing. A past memory flashed past her eyes when she was scalded like that when the birth of her daughter was celebrated. She was so weak at that time that she could not save herself.

But that pearl dress! It was oddly so similar and so as the tricks, that she knew what was going to happen! But why this early? The tricks Penny and her family had played after her marriage had started to happen now!

“I will go and check her before she accuses all of us.” Only when Nora saw the teacher leaving did she return to her senses. He looked unfortunate. Penny noticed that other girls looked dispirited too.

While a few were still scolding the confused and horrified waiter. Pity filled her eyes. Who is behind it and who is paying the price.

“It is alright!” she interrupted the angry students. “I do not want to continue this matter. You can leave.” the waiter was shocked. But when he noticed pity in Nora’s eyes, he was relieved.

He thanked her twice before leaving.

“Nora, you should not be that kind. People like him…”

“You mean those who do not have properties. I am one of them too.” She cut the rich young man with a sharp look stunning everyone. “He did not do it to hurt me. He did not even know me.”

Inside the room,

“How did this all happen!” Kane helped Penny on her seat. “And it felt like Nora was all prepared. Do you not find it strange?”

Penny lowered her head. She had the same question in her mind. Others had not noticed but Penny had thrown one of the pearls of her dress when the waiter was close. She was the creator of the catastrophe, but she ended up being the victim.

But Nora’s quick movements made her grit her teeth angrily, so much so that her facial features were twisted… How did Nora avoid it? It almost felt like Nora had seen the future!?

“Yes, it almost felt like she had planned it. But why would she plan to hurt herself?”
