Chapter 220: Has Her Charms

“It could be a fit of anger. Not anyone could handle sanity all the time? And you must have believed in your charms. You thought you would convince everyone later with your innocent looks.” looking at the confusion on his face, Noa laughed, looking bemused.

“Even the police? Do you think charms work on law officers?” a few laughs and Kane felt embarrassed. Even he was not sure what to believe anymore.

“But..”

“You do not need to find reasons. Because Penny is not in danger. And to prove it, I will find her. But for that, I need all of your mobile phones.” they all exchanged glances as her words sunk in.

“You mean…” the teachers were stunned. They understood her words but they could not believe it.

Nora nodded, “I know that I am being too demanding. But it is important. If Penny found that her plan was exposed, she would disappear further and then I could not help anymore.” The teacher’s face looked ugly.

“You are accusing the victim now?”

“I will not leave for the competition if i am wrong.” Nora did not explain him further. Because she knew that he would not believe her. “But if it is, as i said.. Would Penny be punished?”

“I will make sure that she will!” It was director Reid, the member of the education council and in incharge of their trip. The man had a high status and position and he did not belong to their city.

Looking at his gloomy face, Nora nodded. Even if Penny did not get punished, she would lose her image, her respect and her charm. She could see ridicule in the eyes of the students.

That was the only reason she had taken the risk.

“But Nora Stone, if you are chosen wrong..”

“I can sign the papers if needed. I am sure about it. But the phones..” she looked at the man. The man narrowed his eyes.

“Mr Summer, i allow you to take the mobile phone of every single student.” His harsh and cold words made many flinch.

They did not dare to hide phones. When Mr. Summer walked to them, they handed their phones immediately.

“Now, only two of you can come with me. The others will follow from a distance. If she noticed us, she would change her hideout.” Nora was not in a hurry. She knew that Penny had switched off her phone so she could not be informed at once.

She had only taken the precaution to let everyone speculate the matter further. The more trouble they face, they will feel more aggrieved toward Penny later.

Just at that moment, her phone rang. Looking at the number, Nora was bewildered. “Hello, do you need something?”

“..” the person went silent on the other side. It was him who behaved cold like that to others. But this girl was much colder than him.

“I know where she is.” Alric did not mention who he was talking about but Nora was still stunned. What had Alric to do with Penny or her?

After Alex left, had their dealings not come to an end?

“I do not need your help, sir. I can handle my matters. If you do not need anything else, I need to be somewhere urgent.” Alric was not there so he did not know that she had already claimed Penny had orchestrated this plan.

He frowned when he heard her cold reply.

“I wanted to offer help, girl. But you.. Forget it. She is..”

“I know.” and then she cut the call and sighed. She would explain to him later and thank him too. But now..

“Shall we go now?” the teacher asked in urgency. His eyes looked so desperate that Nora sighed. No matter how much she would assure them, teachers could not be at ease until she was found.

As she climbed on the mountain where they had planned to go for trekking. She paused at many stops making the teachers and Kane anxious.

“Do you even know where she was? Or you are here for sightseeing and buying things?” Kane scowled when she paused again. Nora ignored him. She kept walking and checking the random goods in the shops. If she liked something, she would bargain and ask the shopkeeper to lessen the price.

“I am sure you have charged this much from other students visiting today too.” Kane was impatient but finally the teacher understood what she was doing. He stopped Kane from interfering again.

“That other girl? She did not stop to buy anything even if we called her. She only took some food from that stall. That’s all.” the man cursed. Nora had asked the same question from the ten to twenty stall owners already but he was the first to reply.

“Fine, then I will buy it.” Nora brought the scarf, not because she needed it. But she did not want to leave any suspicion.

Then she went to the food stall and ordered tea and snacks for everyone. She chatted with the server there for a while. Kane shifted in his seat a few times. His face red with anger.

“Mr Summer, you should not be that partial.” he could not help but curse.

“If only I could say that to you, Kane. But I am afraid an arrogant boy like you would only complain about your father and ruin my career!” Mr Summers snorted. It would look like he was afraid of Kane. But in reality, he was mocking Kane.

Kane’s eyes flickered dark. He understood that the teacher would not listen to him. If that was the case, he would go and call the police. Then he would see if the matter was handled properly or not.

He stood up with force when his chair was pushed backwards. Just then Nora returned. She eyed him but did not say a word.

“Have you..” the teacher stood up too and looked at Nora eagerly. He did not complete his sentence but Nora understood it clearly.
