Chapter 221: Resting Like A Princess

“Have you found her?” The voice was trembling with fear.

She smiled softly and nodded. And then she started walking. Kane cursed but followed them. He wanted to see Nora’s face when the track would end and she could still not find Penny. It would not be too late to call the police then.

But he was stunned to see that Nora did not continue. She asked for a resting room and then stopped there.

“What are we doing at this place?” he paused at the door and did not enter. Nora finally turned to look at him. He had a condescending look on her face that stunned Kane again.

“We are here to find your conceited girlfriend. Do you not want to say her hello? Oh right! Since you are so rich, why don’t you pay for her address?” Kane had never seen such a shameless girl!

Cursing under his breath, he took out a wad of cash and threw it on her face. Mr Summer was the one to flinch.

“Kane!” he warned the boy. But Nora did not react at all. She caught the notes before they could fall on the ground and went in without a change in expression.

Kane felt guilty instantly. He was just irritated with her actions and wanted to irritate her. But..

She passed a few notes to the receptionist. Kane noticed that the place was mostly empty. They don’t even have a proper staff.

He nodded and pointed at the stairs. Nora nodded back and started walking. The teacher followed her closely, holding his breath. Kane sighed and followed. This was such a soap opera.

“Coffee Madam!” Nora’s voice came different when she knocked on the door and acted like a server.

But before Kane could curse her again, he was stunned as the door opened.

Penny was standing there with a face mask on her face. She was wearing a woolen dress that looked so comfy as if she was resting in the bed lazily.

“You!” Penny’s eyes widened. She had never thought that she would be caught here. It was such a perfect plan. Such a perfect place to hide!

They should be looking around, accusing Nora. Penny slammed the door shut in her panic.

“Tch! Do you think you can still hide, Penny? You are making it worse for yourself.” Penny gritted her teeth when she heard mockery in Nora’s voice.

But that was the truth. The teacher was standing at the door and he had already seen her lazing around. It did not look like she was kidnapped or kept here forcefully.

She opened the door again.

“What are you talking about? I only closed the door because I do not want to see your face.” she mocked. Nora rolled her eyes. She did not want to argue with penny. She turned to meet Kane’s widened eyes and raised her brow.

Kane felt her gaze and turned to meet the ridicule in her eyes. He had never felt this insulted in his life.

“What are you doing here, Penny?” Mr summer was the first to break the silence. Even a calm man like him looked infuriated.

“What am I doing here?” she asked back, tilting her head, “i thought we all are going to trek this mountain today. I just came in advance so that I could complete the trek with my speed.” she said so nonchalantly that the teacher laughed madly.

His voice was so hoarse as if he was hardly controlling himself from beating this foolish girl.

“You.. you!” he closed his eyes and forced a deep breath, “forget it! You are coming with us.”

“Wait.. my things!” Penny went in. She washed her face and brought a small bag with her, making Kane’s face dark.

She did not look like she had been hurt. She was having a vacation. Enjoying the restroom. While he..!

“Kane! You are here too.” she asked with a look of excitement but Kane ignored her. From the start to the end, he did not talk to her even once. As if he did not know her.

He was merely here to accompany Nora. Kane increased his speed and started walking beside Nora who was leading when he heard Penny.

Nora gave him a side glance but did not say a word as they walked. Penny bit her lips.

“Sir, I didn’t mean to..”

“Save it! Penny.” Mr Summers rubbed his forehead. “I neither had the energy left to judge your actions nor have the power to take a decision over it.” His reply made her silent. But she felt relieved. As expected, they would not punish her. After all, her father was a shareholder in the school.

Her smile returned on her face. If anyone asked, she would say she wanted to start the trek early. And only Penny and Alisha were from the same school.

Alisha did not have the courage and who would believe Nora if she would speak ill about her. Penny had everything sorted in her mind.

As far as it was about Kane, she was not interested in him. He was offering her attention and she was taking it. She had never planned to be in his contact. So she did not care what he thought about her.

Since he had ignored her, she would ignore him too. Kane closed his eyes. As if Penny’s thoughts were written all over her face. When he waited for her to ask for him again and apologize, nothing happened.

When he turned to look at her, he saw a careless snort on her face with a haughty look. At that moment he realized what kind of a girl she was.

His hands clenched into a tight fist as he remembered how he had treated Nora all this time thinking that he was protecting Penny.

“Nora!” his voice trembled but he did not hesitate, “i apologize for my rudeness and ill behavior. I will accept any punishment you would offer me.”
