Chapter 236: Only For Money!

“Yes, that is correct. Well done, Nora Stone.” Today there were three teachers in the class. Asking the questions to every student simultaneously while they wrote a long article on the development of the economy of their country and how it impacts the world.

The question was the same, yet the answer was completely different for every present student. The teachers’ continuous questions disturbed their thinking process and created an immense burden on their shoulders, especially when they gave the wrong answer or someone else gave the right answer.

In their case, it was Nora Stone. Many looked at her with marvel or glared at her. Even if a difficult question of university level is asked, she would answer it patiently and smoothly. The calmness in her voice made others believe she was either cheating or her age was false.

She was a university student in disguise. Nora could feel their gazes, but she did not react to their provocations. They were not wrong! She had graduated in the past and it had helped her in clearing these exams.

“That is right again, Nora stone got ten more points while Ethan lost twenty points.” Ethan closed his eyes and sighed. He had already lost enough points to be eliminated soon.

Amyra sat in the crowd with the teachers. Many knew her here since she had studied in this university.

“I must say, I am impressed with this young girl. If nurtured well, she could be a scientist or better, she could be a scholar and scientist both. Would it not create a history?” Amyra cared a damn about it. She would not even blink even if Nora became the prime minister of this country or her country as long as she was away from Alric.

But last night.. When she went to find Alric near the pool, she had seen them sitting beside each other and looking into each other’s eyes intimately. She had broken the rest of the furniture in her room and changed the room this morning. But she could not even blink her eyes. The moment she did that, she saw Nora smiling sweetly at Alric when he leaned to kiss her. No! She would not let that happen! She would not let a greedy girl like Nora covet what belongs to hers.

Amyra took a step back and only watched as Nora shone on the stage. The glittering lights around her and her dazzling smile. She stood up and left the room silently.

When the competition ended, a large crowd of the reporters were waiting for her at the door.

“It had been three days of the long competition. Do you think you would be able to win it, Miss Stone?” The moment the door opened, four reporters surrounded Nora.

She frowned as she looked around. There were a few more but they did not surround anyone. They patiently stood at the door and interviewed whoever approached them. There were students from other countries who had performed better or equal to her but the reporters did not go to them.

It might be a coincidence. Only.. Nora did not believe in them.

“The exam was too hard. I am not sure if I can pass, forget about winning.” she replied humbly, making reporters look at each other.

“But I heard that you have given the most answers?” There was confusion evident on his face. He was tipped! As expected!

“People exaggerate these days. What can I say? But you can ask teachers there who is going to win or not. I am sure they have better judgement than a student.” she pointed at a teacher. Even if the reporters did not listen to her, the students could see that she did not take the credit.

If she had, they would have felt jealous and would have tried to hurt her. She had been with this trick so many times. Penny often praises her too much so that she could make fun of herself later and the class would insult her. How was this any different? Only, Penny was not there. So, it only meant.. Nora looked around.

It was not hard to find Amyra. She was standing with the reporters too. When their eyes met, she saw the desire to kill in Amyra’s eyes and laughed.

“Not only that, let me tell you a secret..” Nora leaned toward the reporters. No one heard what she told the reporters. But they left her immediately. Amyra frowned. She had paid two of them to interview Nora and exaggerate her success. So much that the whole world would laugh at her later.

She was sure that Nora had taken help in writing that thesis. A student could not do it. She had just crammed it well so whenever a question was asked, she was able to reply well. But if asked something that was not on the paper.. Her eyes narrowed.

She had already given questions to the reporters. Forget it! She walked to Nora who seemed to be waiting for her.

“My teacher is impressed by your performance. She had invited you for dinner tonight. But if you are busy, I will refuse her.” Amyra spoke softly, smiling since so many people were looking at them.

“Then refuse her. I still need to study.” jaws touched the ground. Everyone knew that Amyra’s teacher was a renowned scientist. Having a meal with her could secure their future. But Nora.. she was on another level.

Even Amyra had not accepted blunt refusal since they were in the public.

“Aah! How unfortunate. Is there something I can do to change your views.. How about I ask her to add your name in her future paper?” Amyra grinned with ridicule in her eyes but Nora only started walking again confusing Amyra. It was so hard to understand this girl. What did she want?

Suddenly, she remembered something and gritted her teeth…

“Or, I can send two thousand dollars to you.” many laughed. Nora refused to add her name in an international research paper. Why would she care about such a meagre amount?
