Chapter 255: You Did Not Mean It, Right?
Overjoyed, Nora reached out her hands to push the sliding window, but the window remained still. Obviously, it had been sealed. Alric signed when he saw her struggling hard.
He scanned the room for any hidden cameras and then pressed his chest strangely. Nora finally gave up on the window and turned to look at him. He was standing there tall and majestic. Even the dampness and foul smell of the room did not seem to touch him. For some reason she was irked more by this fact then being here.
“Why did you take the risk! We have such a good chance to run away. But you… ha! You are a fool.” Nora knew that it was not going to open no matter how much force she put in so she did not ask Alric to help her.
She glared at him instead. “Was it worth it to put our lives at risk?”
There was no surveillance camera in the room, so they were not being watched. So, she did not act fearful like before.
“It is!” Alric replied softly. He didn’t look angry at all. Nora shook her head. She could not deal with this man.
She turned to look around but he held her hand.
“Why were you unconcerned when the man took off your pants?” the question stunned her. Her eyes widened and narrowed but no matter how much she struggled, he did not let go of her hands.
“Come to think of it, you were not conscious last night too.” He was a strange man, yet she had cared for him last night. She even slept in the same bed as if it did not matter. How!
His chest burnt. A strange rage and the desire to burn the room filled him. Alric hardly gets affected by his emotions anymore. Except for protecting Alex, he did not have care for this world. Yet he cared about this girl.
The door opened. Two men stood there and laughed when they saw Nora struggling and Alric forcing her.
“Too much for a gentleman! Were you not protecting the girl from us?” the first man laughed and another joined.
“He probably wanted beauty for himself.” the other man pointed at Alric as they walked in.
“Tsk! If he had been nicer, I would have given him a chance too. But..” he raised his hand to push Alric away. But no matter how hard he tried, Alric did not budge.
Frowning, he pushed with both hands, but as if his touch was nothing but cotton in front of Alric who looked half the size of the man pushing him.
The other man noticed it and held Alric’s other arm to pull him away. But he could not move this man as if he was made of iron.
“What the fuck!” furious, the man took out a gun and pointed it at Alric.
“Hero! Let the girl go or you are going to die before her.” he warned in a cold voice. But Alric only tilted his head and stared at the man. His eyes were so cold and dark like a blackhole sucking every light around him.
The man was stunned just looking at them. But he could not believe a drunkard could have such a fierce aura. He must be putting on an act to get free.
“Just kill him. We have no use of him.” Nora flinched. She had thought they had more time till those cars found them again.
“Wait..! I’m ready to go with you. Leave him.” if she even had to have sex with them, she did not care much about it. Her life was much more important than her body.
She was filthy anyway.
She jerked away Alric;s hand as she held the hand of the man with the gun.
Alric’s eyes narrowed.
“Nora!”
“What!?” she hissed glaring at her. But in the next second, he had kicked the man standing behind him and punched the man holding the gun.
“Thank you for distraction. But you did not mean those words right?” there was a strange pleading in his voice that paused Nora.
“I..”
The first one stood up and the second one shook his head hard. Nora tried to snatch the gun from him but he held it tightly.

“You bitch!” He wanted to kick Nora but before he could Alric wrapped his hand around his shoulder and flipped him.
“Ouch!” The man fell down with much force. Nora took the gun when his grip loosened a bit.
“You!” the other came toward Alric with the desire to kill.
Alric’s cold eyes locked onto the second man, who was staggering to his feet, clutching his broken arm. Meanwhile, the first man, emboldened by desperation, lunged for Nora. She reacted instinctively, dodging his grasp with a surprising quickness. Her hand shot out, landing a slap across his face that echoed like a gunshot in the confined space.
“Get off me, you bastard!” she spat, her voice filled with raw defiance.
The man growled and lunged again, but Nora grabbed a broken chair leg from the floor. She swung it with all her might, catching him in the ribs. He doubled over with a pained grunt, but before she could deliver another blow, he tackled her.
Alric, meanwhile, didn’t waste time. The second man snarled and threw a wild punch with his good arm. Alric caught it mid-air as if it were moving in slow motion, twisting it backward until the man screamed in agony.
“You picked the wrong fight,” Alric said coldly, his grip like iron. He drove his knee into the man’s stomach, sending him crashing into the wall.
The door burst open, and more footsteps thundered down the hallway. Reinforcements.
“Nora!” Alric barked, his voice cutting through the chaos.
She rolled out from under her attacker, her breath ragged. “What now?” she managed, glancing toward the approaching danger.
“Outside,” he commanded. He grabbed the second man and hurled him into the path of the reinforcements, buying them precious seconds.
