Chapter 257: Kill Them All
“Where are you?” Alric asked, his voice low but tense.
Nora paused, her breath catching. She realized the question wasn’t directed at her. Yet, she couldn’t help but feel uneasy. Hadn’t he handed over his phone to the kidnappers earlier?
The voice on the other end of the line was strained, likely in the middle of a fight. “This is the Night Queen Bar, a notorious hotspot for criminals. We’re here, but it’ll take time to get to you. There are too many layers to get through. Are you holding up?”
Sitting close to Alric, practically on his lap, Nora could hear the sounds of chaos through the phone. Gunshots and grunts of pain filled the air.
“Take your time,” Alric replied coolly, his calm demeanor almost eerie. “But make sure no one survives. Leave no witnesses for the police.”
Nora froze, staring at him in disbelief. His face, a mask of icy detachment, betrayed no remorse for condemning so many lives. This was the man she thought she knew fomr her past. not the businessman running hospitals and charities for the poor.
“What are you—”
“I maintain balance,” he interrupted, his voice calm, almost casual, as if reading her thoughts. A faint smirk tugged at his lips, one that chilled her to the bone. “For every life I save, I take another.”
She was speechless. His words unsettled her, but why should she judge? Her hands weren’t clean either. Besides, it wasn’t as if she didn’t already know about his past—about how he’d killed his own family.
“They’ll be here soon. We just need to hold out until then,” Alric added, his dark eyes meeting hers. There was something unfathomable in his gaze, a depth she couldn’t comprehend.
“Why are you helping me?” she asked softly.
“I owe you for last night.” His reply was devoid of emotion, as though their previous intimacy had been nothing but an illusion.
Before she could respond, a voice rang out. “Boss! They’re here!”
Nora turned to see a man standing just feet away, a gun aimed directly at them. “Bitch! Move an inch, and I’ll shoot you both.”
The man grinned maliciously, his eyes gleaming as he lowered his gun and fired. The bullet tore through Alric’s leg, blood immediately staining his pants. Yet, Alric didn’t so much as flinch, his face a mask of indifference.
The gunshot caused a commotion, and the crowd on the dance floor scattered in panic. But the man didn’t seem fazed.
“Now, move toward the stairs,” he ordered, gesturing with his weapon. “Or the next one goes through her head.”
Nora glanced at Alric, who took a step forward despite his injury.
The man smirked and leveled his gun at her. “Smart boy. Now follow her, or she dies first.”
Without waiting, Nora bowed her head and walked toward the stairs, her mind racing for a plan. Alric followed, his cold gaze fixed on her as two more men joined their allies on the third floor.
The room they entered was bright, almost blinding. In the center stood a large bed, its sinister purpose clear. Cameras were mounted on the walls, silently recording.
“See?” the man sneered. “We’ve prepared so much for you, bitch. Injuring two of my men wasn’t very polite. Now, don’t bother begging for mercy. You’ll get what you deserve.”
He grabbed Nora roughly, pushing her onto the bed. Her body bounced lightly, but her glare was fierce.
“Amyra Ainston put you up to this, didn’t she?” she asked, her voice sharp.
The men laughed, not even bothering to deny it. “And what if she did? You think you’ll get revenge? You’re not leaving this place alive.”
One man began stripping off his clothes, while the other two trained their guns on Nora and Alric.
“If either of you resists, we shoot. Simple as that,” the leader said, smirking.
Nora let out a humorless chuckle. “You’re going to kill us anyway, aren’t you? Cooperating won’t change a thing.”
Her defiance seemed to ignite something in Alric. The moment she spoke, he sprang into action, lunging at the man nearest him. Despite the gunshot wound, his movements were precise, his focus razor-sharp.

The leader was prepared this time, firing his gun, but Alric dodged with surprising agility, the bullet grazing past his shoulder.
Meanwhile, Nora acted on instinct. She charged the second man, slamming her shoulder into him with all her strength. He stumbled back, but not before firing a shot that barely missed her.
Alric grappled with his opponent, twisting the gun from his hand and delivering a brutal punch to his jaw. The man crumpled to the floor.
Nora wrestled the second man for his weapon, landing a knee to his groin. He howled in pain, and she used the opportunity to grab his gun, training it on the leader.
“Drop it!” she yelled, her hands steady despite her pounding heart.
The leader sneered but complied, tossing his gun aside.
“Your move,” Alric said, his voice a low growl as he limped toward the man.
Nora’s grip tightened on the gun, but before she could act, the leader lunged at her with surprising speed, knocking the weapon from her hands. It clattered across the room, out of reach. The man’s hands closed around her wrists, his strength overwhelming as he tried to force her down.
“You’ve got spirit, bitch,” he hissed through gritted teeth, his foul breath washing over her. “But it won’t save you.”
Nora twisted her arms, freeing one hand, and delivered a sharp elbow to his ribs. The leader grunted but held on, shoving her back against the wall. Pain shot through her shoulder, but she ignored it, bringing her knee up into his stomach.
He stumbled slightly, giving her enough space to break free. She swung her fist, landing a punch squarely on his jaw. He staggered, clearly not expecting such resistance, but his fury only grew. The plan was perfect yet it was destroyed just like that!
“You’re dead!” he roared, charging at her again.
