Return Of The Heiress For Revenge - Chapter 260
Chapter 260: Final Exam
Biased exam toward Nora??!! Could it be. Their eyes widened with shock and everyone stared at Nora at once. The girl had perplexed emotions dancing on her face as she stared at the screen.
They did not need any confirmation. Everything is confirmed by her expressions.
“As you have guessed, the last exam was solved by Nora while others belong to you. You all have qualified the exam to this level. I am sure you know how it is favored here and who has suffered.
I will personally file a complaint and see why the exam was biased toward Nora.” though the announcer said the words they wanted to hear, the meaning had been changed completely.
They felt shame and guilt. They did not have the courage to meet her eyes. A long silence fell as the announcer stared at each of them making them flustered.
Looking at their faces full of guilt and remorse, the announcer finally smiled and adjusted her mike.
“But since the exam is already completed. We have no intention of doing it again or changing the results. Neither extra credit would be issued to Nora Stone. If she had any complaints, she could meet the management team later. For now, it is time for your final exam…”
“Today, the exam would only be oral and buzzer round. Same question would be asked from every student and each of you would get the same marks for replying but if the person could not give an answer after pressing the buzzer or gave the wrong answer instead, twenty marks would be deducted from their total. There will be a hundred questions for the exam today.
So each of you has the chance to earn fifty points for every answer. Today, you will get the chance to earn more points than all your collective exams so far. It depends on you, either you will win all the marks and get first position or you will continue to lose all the marks you have earned so far and leave for the last position. The greater the risk, the more the reward.” The announcer smiled sweetly but it looked wicked to the listeners.
She was talking like a host announcing the gambling competition.
“Good luck to all of you.” the announcer spoke looking at Nora and left.
Everyone took their seats. There was a buzzer in front of everyone.
“What is the…” sweat starts to cover their faces.
“Beep, beep” the sound of buzzers and the grapes of the crowd echoed all over the hall.
The first to be eliminated was the United Kingdom, then South Korea. Finally, it came down to Chinese students against American students on the competition stage.
The situation reached an unprecedented tension that the live reporters put on their serious expressions as an ice-frozen atmosphere filled the whole room.
“Unfortunately, the Australian students were eliminated despite their best efforts. But we are all proud of them because honestly, more than 90 percent of the people in the nation were unable to get the correct answer. As of now, we’ve only received four correct answers from the adult population.”
Even though students from her own country were eliminated, the serious and humorous reporter was still proud of their performance in the competition.
Under the stage, the teachers were all serious and tense. Watching the Chinese and American students competing for victory, they held their breaths and anticipated the final result.
As the students conducted theory and mental arithmetic simultaneously, the adults in the broadcast room could feel the competition getting fired up despite their little understanding of the problem.
Unyielding, the students calculated the problems like a computer and answered the question with exceptional logic. Such unhurried confidence pushed the event to a climax.
Director Reid sat on the bench with his arms crossed in front. Despite how calm he looked on the outside, he was clenching his sweaty fists tightly underneath.
Nadinia started competing in the competition quite early. But their country hardly won. Six times in total. Therefore, the students were determined to take home the gold medals this time.
After eliminating all the other countries except one last strong opponent, Director Reid watched without blinking his eyes, afraid to miss any detail.
When the five hour time limit was up, the American students regretfully shrugged their shoulders. Overall, the Nedinia team won two gold medals from this competition as opposed to the three won by the America team.
“Nora Stone, representing Nedinia , had won the highest points. Collective results of Nedinia is second while America is first. But Nora Stone’s alone record won her a gold prize.”
At the announcement of the results, the audience broke out in applause and Director Reid stood up instantly and strode onto the stage to hug the contestants who had been working hard in the past five hours.
No matter the failure or success, the students’ hard work and spirits were all worthy of this praise.
Following the contestants’ chuckles and handshakes, the fierce competition finally came to an end.

As Nora received the gold medal which she finally obtained after two lives, the rim of her eyes reddened despite her usual calm composure. In her previous life, she had endured so much hardship and still could not escape from abuse. Finally, in this life, she could stand up against her enemies and would no longer suffer from their persecutions.
Back in their home country, the news that Nedinia contestants had won the second position and Nora Stone had won the gold medal in the prestigious competition traveled fast like the spring breeze.
Even the Daily news, the most widely read newspaper, covered the story with details of the contestants during the competition.
David, who was congratulated suddenly in a meeting with Chris Benard, looked confused.
His initially relaxed brows suddenly tightened when a colleague showed him the news on his laptop. He froze as he saw the name in the caption.
“We never knew that your niece is doing so great. She had earned international recognition. If a girl like her were to be the future of this company, our company would earn a lot of respect and thrive as the leading company.” The man praised more and more and he fawned.
He did not notice the ugly expression David was trying hard to hide. He looked like he had swallowed a stale meat in public. He could neither swallow it nor spit it.
The girl smiling on the screen looked so magnificent. As he kept staring at the screen, a forgotten memory flashed in front of his eyes. Where his brother was smiling like that on the stage when this company had secured many contracts and the whole team was praising him.
While David! He was standing in the corner and applauding. That was the day when he had left the company with his wife to try his own luck in a different city. His eyes burnt with the memory of that thought. He had believed that he had forgotten the bitterness of the past but it was still gnawing at his heart. It was full of hatred.
“I remember her. This is the girl you wanted me to introduce to four months ago!”
