Chapter 261: Wanted To Marry Early!

“Nora! That was her name.” Benard stared at the screen intently. He remembered the girl. She looked so innocent and naive that he had not forgotten for a long time.

That was one of the reasons that he did not reply to the advance of David’s daughter, Penny. She was nice but she was nothing in comparison to this girl.

“Have you not told me that she is bad at studies and wanted to marry early!” yet she had won a gold medal in the talent hunt competition. All of the winners of this competition secure a position either as researcher or scholar in the best university and have a bright career.

David was covered in cold sweat. It had been four months. Benard had asked for Nora for a few days then he had stopped. David had believed that Benard had forgotten about the girl. Who would have believed that he would think about the girl at this very moment!

“I am surprised. I never knew my niece was this smart.” When everyone looked at him with a confused face, he laughed. “She was a rebellion from the start. She often compares herself to Penny. When she learnt that Penny was participating, she had left the house four months ago and decided to participate too. My daughter lost during the national round. Who would have thought that her rebellious nature would lead her not only to the finals but she would secure a position for herself too.

A stubborn mind could really achieve anything.” he laughed but his eyes were filled with worry. Many frowned listening to him. So the girl was flicker minded.

“Yet, she is so amazing? If she is guided well, she could achieve so much.” Benard added, making David pause.

When he saw others nodding with joy, he could only agree and nod with them. But his eyes narrowed for Nora.

If she got the attention of the board of directors and asked to join the team, he would be doomed. No! He could not let her bloom.

“Thank you everyone for the appreciation.”

“A thank you is not enough! We need a party Mr Stone.” Mr Stone hesitated. Looking at his anxious face, Benard smiled. How could he not know what was running in his mind?

Looking at his reaction and their previous conversation, he had already guessed David wanted to get rid of that girl without killing her. His eyes fell on the smoking girl again and his eyes flickered.

“Since Mr David is not sure, give me the honor to congratulate her on her success.” he smiled. “I will arrange the party. You only need to attend it with your family.” David’s eyes widened. Benard holds more shares than him. He could not refuse him.

“It is alright, we are like family after all.” he pressed and David could only nod.

“Then if you may excuse me for the day. I want to congratulate my niece and my family. She must be waiting for our call.” David left the room hurriedly. He could not wait to see his wife and daughter who had learnt to keep him in the darkness.

He had never driven that rashly. The more he thought about it, the more infuriated he felt. He wanted to smash something. He honked the horn so loud and cursed when the cars moved slowly.

Reaching his home, he slammed the door with force. The servants bowed their heads, noticing his anger.

“Sophia!” Sophia was reading a magazine in the hall. Enjoying the warmth of light sun rays on her skin. She frowned when her husband shouted like that.

“What happened?” she asked in a concerned voice.

“You are asking me that!” He took the magazine from her hands and threw it on the ground. Penny entered the hall when she heard her father shouting.

He glared at her daughter dressed in a thin gown during day time.

“Do you know anything else except wasting your time in shopping or partying!” he gritted his teeth and shouted at her. Penny flinched, her father had never scolded before.

“Honey, she is preparing for her shoot. Did you forget she is working as a model for Mr Benard’s juice company?” Sophia stood in front of her daughter and blocked her husband’s sighed.

She smiled at her husband as she touched her cheeks. “You looked worried. Did something happen in the company.” David closed his eyes and cursed.

“Where is Nora?” Sophia froze for a second. She tilted her head to look at her daughter. But Penny was equally confused. She shook her head. But then she remembered! Today was the last day of that wretched competition. She had forgotten about it completely after getting this modelling assignment.

“That..” sweat covered her face. She lowered her head.

“So you finally remembered.” David laughed coldly” yes, she won the competition. Not only had she won a gold prize. But her marks had won the second position for our country. She would be given an award by our prime minister. Not only that, Benard is throwing a party for her in his personal yacht.” That was the point that stung them most.

They did not care about her awards or her college. As long as she did not get the attention of the shareholders. But if Benard would organize the party, he would invite all of the shareholders. Then how could Nora be hidden anymore.

“Sophia, I have warned you so many times. I do not care if you pamper her with jewels and dresses or make her a drunkard. As long as she is away from the company. But you could not do this simple thing! You have told me that everything is under your control. Then how did this happen? How could she earn so many awards and broadcasted on a news channel! Let me remind you, her success would only result in our ruination!”

“I. I will never let this happen. Nora would not attend that party.”
