Chapter 262: Looks Beautiful

“Nora stone, the name was never heard before yet now you are a celebrity. What motivated you to work so hard and reach this stage?” a young girl with a bright smile asked in a soothing tone as she extended her mike toward Nora.

Two more reporters waited for their turn patiently, two cameras were pointed at Nora as they waited for her reply.

“I only wanted to earn money for myself.” they blinked and then laughed.

“So you give credit to money instead of your family and friends?” the reporters winked at Nora as if telling her she would change the reply if she wanted, but Nora nodded confidently.

“I am an orphan living alone. I only want my parents to feel proud of me wherever they are. They would have felt disappointed if I had left to study because of lack of funds. So I worked hard to get this award!” the reporter frowned then. She signaled the other reporter to take over while she discussed something with her assistant.

He passed her a file and she flipped the pages with her frown growing deeper. It was a brief introduction of Nora. The report said that she was the niece of a rich businessman David Stone. He had shares of the school she was studying at, a snacks making company and he had recently invested in an electric appliances company too.

Even if Nora was not living the life of a princess, she should not worry about her college fees! But looking at Nora’s clear eyes, it did not look like the girl was lying. She was wearing a simple uniform dress even when they were allowed to wear anything.

Now that she looked at it, Nora hardly went out, she ate what the school offered and others even confirmed that she did not have any fancy item with her. The reporter frowned. She had seen many bitter truths behind sweet deception and lies.

“Thank you for your interview, Nora. we will make sure to help you.” the reporter answered vaguely as she asked a few more questions and wrapped up the interview. Others left after the first. Many group and individual pictures were taken of the winners by the reporters or by the directors who had represented different countries. They wanted to show it to their students.

Nora was exhausted when the crowd finally relaxed and she got the chance to breathe. She wanted nothing but to return to her room and rest. But before she could go, other winners stood around her and blocked her way.

“There is a celebratory dinner for all of you. And Nora, you are the guest of honor. You have to attend it.” Nora wanted to refuse. But when she found every eye was looking at her expectantly, she nodded. The teachers behind her beamed too.

“If you ever decide to study in a foreign country, you can contact us.” a few of them passed their cards to her. Those who believe that she would not attend the party later do not want to lose this chance.

She knew that she could not leave that cursed land, yet she nodded and collected all the cards carefully. Any help was welcomed when it comes to her future.

Nora heard the announcement that everyone would wear a formal dress since there might be repeated vips attending the function. She sighed and excused herself from the crowd.

She sighed as she returned to her room. The room felt cold and empty for some reason.

“I am already tired. I do not want to go to the party.” It was an excuse to hide from people. She did not like it when their eyes moved away from her face and they stared at her clothes as if that was all she had to offer.

“They all would wear expensive dresses as a competition.” But she did not have a dress.

She walked to her bed with an intention to sleep. But she paused when she noticed there was a gift there. A red box packed with a velvet ribbon was waiting for her.

She walked closely when she noticed Alric’s bold signature on the small letter.

“A small sign of gratitude, hope you wear it tonight.” her hands paused. Wear it! It was not a coincidence. The guy must have known that she did not have a dress.

With a deep sigh to stop herself from feeling anything, Nora opened the box.

There was a red off-shouldered formal evening gown inside the box. It had sequin and thread work on it. The dress looked beautiful.

Nora had never been fond of dresses. But as she stared at this one, she could not help but feel overwhelmed.

Shaking her head, she changed her clothes. The dress hung tightly to her body. It hid her thin waist well and accentuated her figure. She looked taller, smarter and beautiful in this dress.

As if stars were embellishing her dress. She looked wonderful. Looking at herself in the mirror, she felt like it was not her staring back at her. There was someone else. And she did not recognize this girl.

The door knocked again with urgency.

“Come in!” a girl entered the room with a small bag.

“… you already have a dress?!” Xia Yu was stunned. She had thought she would help this girl.

“Thank you for thinking about me.” Nora realized what could be in the bag when Xia Yu’s smile came on.

“It is alright. I am happy that you have such a beautiful dress. No one would be able to look away once you enter the room.” Xia Yu shook her head and left the room. Nora stared at herself and then took out her mobile and took some pictures. She sent two of them to Victor.

“Aaw! You look sexy! I want to kiss you. More than that, I wish I could see you without the dress.” Nora blinked when she read the message and then closed her app mumbling a curse.

But as she looked at herself, she smiled. “I indeed look beautiful.”
