Chapter 266: We Are In Public

Alric closed his eyes. “The man had been dealt with.” The message was still burning a hole in his pocket.

He was right Amyra had done it. That girl had lost her brain completely. He could not wait to fly over and meet her. The anticipation was much more than parted lovers.

Nora was harmed because of him. Because a crazy woman took him as her property and wanted to harm anyone he liked. But how the hell did she know that he liked her when he had only confirmed his feelings after being kidnapped!

He wanted to applaud Amyra. Even thank her for letting him understand his actions. He would do that before killing her. He shifted in his seat.

He had expected Nora to return the coffee after knowing he had sent it. But she had only thanked him and returned to her seat. She had finished the coffee completely. She even drank it with a smile on her face. Alric shook his head. He was reading too much into it. She had already accepted that she had a boyfriend and she was not planning to change him. Why was he thinking too much?

He closed his eyes and hoped to catch on some sleep. After returning from the bar, he had not slept at all. He had installed cameras near her room. He was keeping an eye on Nora like a bloody stalker to make sure that she was safe for the exam.

Even now, he was stealing glances at her like a pervert. He knew that she was aware of them. The way she randomly shook her head and laughed made him embarrassed. But he was relieved that she did not mind it.

“Sir! Would you like to eat something?” an airhostess walked to him with a tray full of snacks and food. He shook his head when she passed him a bowl of soup. But paused when he noticed a letter there. The woman smiled broadly when he raised a brow.

For some strange reason he looked at Nora. She was having the same bowl of soup.

“Thank you!”

Alric placed the soup and opened the letter first. He wanted to laugh about it. It was the tissue paper offered with the soup.. Not a fancy paper he was habitual of.

“Alric, I know that you are feeling strange. It is only because we have experienced so much together. The life and death experience often brings people closer. But we both have our own troubles. And if we are together, we will only hurt each other further. We need someone who loves us and shares our burden with us. I can not share your burdens and you can not even fathom mine. But I do hope we can help each other in the future.

If you ever need me, I am there. You have saved me when I needed it most, Alric. I can never pay my debt so never think that you owe me anything. You have done much more than you know. Thank you! Nora Stone.” he held the tissue paper light. Afraid that it would tear down if he added anh strength.

The girl had refused him again even when he did not propose to her. After being rejected twice by the same girl, a shallow laugh escaped his lips.

It was going to be a long journey.

When Nora dragged her luggage out of the plane and reached the airport, she paused for a second. She had expected it, yet she was stunned to see her uncle standing there personally with a smile plastered on his face.

He looked so kind and amiable as he talked with a few other important businessmen. Nora forced a smile on her face when their eyes met. He nodded with approval and waved his hands.

“It is strange that you have personally come to receive your niece. I heard that she had already left home.” a man standing beside David frowned when he looked at the young girl walking toward them.

“What are you talking about Tristan? She is no less than Penny. And she had made me proud. How could I not come? If only, I have not signed that deal with you! I would have gone to see her competition and cheered for her.” David laughed full of pride. As if he could not wait to announce it to the world that she was his niece.

Tristan frowned. He remembered the call from his son two days earlier. He had stubbornly claimed that he did not like Penny and he wanted to pursue Nora. At that time he had only scolded his son. But now.. It looks like David would not mind.

That girl was pretty too.

“Aah! Here comes my son.” Before he could continue, Kane stared at him and signalled him to stay silent.

“Yes, Kane! I heard that he represented our country too. Not bad! Your son is a prodigy. I am sure you have high hopes for him in the future.” David looked at the young boy with gimmered eyes. Penny had told him that the boy had liked her. But Nora created some misunderstandings.

If he could clear them, it would not be a bad choice. He hopes that Penny did not follow Benard.

“Tristian. I am planning a congratulatory dinner for Nora. How about you and your joining us? It would be good for our new partnership. Our kids are already friends too.” Tristan could have wished for anything today.

He nodded at once and decided to join them.

“Good, then I will share the details once I discuss with Nora. I am sure the kids would enjoy their time together.” David laughed heartily. Each word was full of love and warmth for Nora.

Nora heard the last line and her eyes flashed coldness. This man was a born actor. No wonder Penny had so many plans too.

“Ah! Nora.” he hugged the young girl warmly “behave! We are in public.”
