Chapter 270: Hurt Me!

“You should pay more attention to your image. You have recently earned good fame in the country. If you behave like a barbarian, they will accuse us for your lack of education.” as they walked toward Sophia’s study, Sophia could not help but remind Nora who ill mannered she was.

How she wanted to slap the girl for insulting them again and again, but she controlled. Her anger showed in her harsh voice.

“David is fond of you. He sees his brother in you. So he wants to celebrate your achievements. Nora, you should be grateful to have us. But here you are hurting us every chance you get!” she finally turned to face the girl. “You have hurt me deeply. But I am ready to forget the past grievances. Since your university entrance exams are nearby, apply for a leave from the dorms and study at home. I will arrange a personal tutor for both of you.” Nora had to accept that the woman was good at acting. Now that she was facing Nora, her face showed no sign of hatred.

She was still cold but like a stern elder who only cared for you. Nora wanted to laugh but she knew they could control her life. Until she finds a way to change her guardians.

“I will ask the principal about it. But for now, I want to return there.” Sophia’s face tightened with a deep frown.

“You can return in two days. Today, we have organized a celebratory dinner for you at eight in the evening. You must be ready by seven thirty. Since you are the star, you should get ready like that. Here, I have brought you three new dresses. You can choose any of them.” Sophia took out Chanel shopping bags.

“Do not create a scene there Nora. this is the least i can expect from you.” she warned before passing the bags. “There would be a helper for your makeup. Alright?” Nora nodded as she held the bags and left for her room.

She opened the bags and laughed. Each of them is a Chanel dress, no wonder. A black, a red, and a striped white dress. The white dress was beautiful beyond measure, it would suit her perfectly. If she was getting married!!

If Nora would wear it just for dinner, everyone would laugh at her. The black dress had a long skirt and a collar that covered her body well but. Its upper part was seen through. Even if she wears something inside, she would only look vulgar with this dress.

The red dress was not even her size. If she wore it somehow, her body would stretch the cloth too much, looking vulgar.

Yet, if you see any of the dresses, they were beautiful so no one could find fault in her.

Nora checked her wardrobe where she had a few handover dresses from Penny. Each of them looked old, if she wore them, they would ask her to change.

“She still could not accept the short stick even when uncle had warned her.” Nora laughed looking at the dresses. Then she opened her luggage. There was a bean powder color Louis Vuitton formal dress inside. The dress Alric had given her. She had not worn it because she wanted to return it to him.

This unnecessary connection had confused her. But now.. She took out the dress.

After contemplating, she smiled.

The maid held the box of makeup tightly in her hands. It was all high brand makeup. But she was still worried because she had no idea how to do makeup. She was told to watch a few tutorials but that had not helped her enough.

When the door was opened, the maid was stunned to see Nora in her dress. It was such a beautiful dress. She never knew Nora had such good cleavage and her waist was so thin. Most of the time she wears baggy clothes that hide her hourglass figure completely.

But the pressure on her increased, now that Nora looked so beautiful and she would destroy her clear and beautiful face.

“Miss..” Nora smiled at the nervous maid as she closed the door behind her.

“You do not need to do my makeup. I know how to do it. I will manage myself.” she extended her hands. The maid did not think twice before passing the make up to her with a grateful look on her face.

“Thank you! Thank you!” She could not thank enough as she stood up at the side. Nora sat in front of her new vanity table and started coloring her lips first.

“Knock! Knock!”

“Miss, master has returned, he is calling for you. You must come out.” Nora stared at the watch showing six with a cold gleam in her eyes as she opened the door.

“Everyone is waiting for you at the door. Master said we are already late.” Nora nodded simply and closed the door behind her. She took slow steps toward the stairs and reached the exit.

“Nora, I have warned you to not be late twice. Yet you..” Sophia paused as she looked at the elegant woman in front of her. This was not the dress she had brought for her!

“It is alright. We can leave now since you are ready.” David looked at her niece twice. For the first time, she was looking like her mother. That woman was perfect and so was she! His eyes gleamed and he looked at her again.

Sophia noticed the look on her husband’s face. Her eyes burnt with hatred and the desire to kill. Even Nora felt insecure. Even if Nora had proven herself smarter, she could not compare with Penny when it comes to beauty and elegance.

But today, Penny glared at her mother.

“Mom, you have told me that you have brought a better dress for me. But how is she wearing such an expensive dress? Even a duck could look pretty with your help. But are you doing this to hurt me again?”
