Chapter 280: Hurt Me!

She looked at Nora who shivered in a cold bathrobe and then at Alric. His shirt was crumpled and had wet spots. Her eyes filled with mockery.

“Mr Spencer, do you think everyone is a fool here?” her harsh voice made Nora sigh. She had a plan when she had returned, but now.. It seems hard to follow.

Yet she could not help but turn to look at Alric. What was he doing here? Why did he come?

“She was fine last night. Did we not share a dinner together where you were uninvited and now you claim that she is so sick that you have to barge at our house uninvited in our absence?” the more she spoke, the more she felt furious.

This man was audacious. What did he think of himself?

“It is the generosity of my maids that they did not call the police. But I am not that kind and patient. If you do not leave my house at once, I will not only call the police but reporters and make sure that you will suffer.” she was feeling stifled since last night.

David’s behavior had changed completely toward Nora since Alric had started to take interest in her. She had to nip the bud when she still had a chance.

She looked at the man coldly and spoke in a commanding voice.

Alric was silent so far. Nora felt bad for him. She was sure no one had ever ordered Alric before.

“Alric..”

“Go on! Why are you still standing?”

“..” instead of going out, Alric entered the room and opened the closet as if this house and everything inside belonged to him.

He shuffled the dresses inside and took out a warm turtle neck sweater and jeans from the closet.

Nora had already followed him. She wanted him to leave. But looking at the frown on his face as he selected the dress for her, she felt a strange tug in her heart.

“Here, you can not stay in a bathrobe as your aunt calls for the reporters. Go and change your clothes.” Alric held her hands and placed cloth in them.

Nora blinked and stared at the clothes and then at him. He was waiting for the police and reporters?!

“I know that I am handsome. But must you stare at me like that?” Nora blushed. Despite her thick skin, it was the second time she had shown him her legs.

And she was not a fool. She knew well how he had looked at her body. How he wanted to devour her.

Nodding, she took the clothes and went to the attached washroom. Only then did Alric turn back leisurely and tilt his head.

“Are you waiting for something? Go on! We both have other things to do too.” his gaze fell on Penny for only a second before he stared at Sophia again with a smirk.

Sophia was shivering with rage. She was holding the phone so tightly that her knuckles had turned white. How she wanted to kill this man.

But David had warned her to not throw another fuss and do not attract bad publicity. What if this man had a trick behind his sleeves! Despite trespassing into their property, he looked so arrogant.

“See! We should not spout that much nonsense.” Alric laughed looking at her expressions. “I am taking Nora with me. She would return when she would feel better.”

Listening to his commanding voice, Sohpia felt like a cold slap hit her cheeks. This man was commanding her now?

She laughed hysterically and dialled a number.

“Ha! You are incorrigible. Do not blame me later.” The call was connected after three rings.

“Hello, is it chief Gaston? It is me, Mrs Stone. I have a complaint. Someone had trespassed our home and now he is dragging my niece with him without our permission. The girl is minor… yes! Ah yes. I do know him.” she smirked at the reply of the other party.

Her confidence rose as she smiled at Alric but the man looked unperturbed. He was not even looking at her anymore. But he had taken out a small bag from the room. And filled with Nora’s essentials.

Her eyes burnt with rage and hatred.

“Yes, he is Mr Alric Spencer. Yes! The owner of the chain of hospitals but he..” SOphia was stunned. “Hello! Hello!” she stared at her phone in disbelief. The chief had just confirmed that he was sending police there.

She had heard them moving. But when she told him Lyrics name. The man cut the call at once. No! It must be a network issue!

With a panicked look on her face, she dialed the number again but no one picked up. They must be busy leaving. She did not believe that they would ignore a matter like this!

She called again. This time the line was busy. Perhaps they were calling her back to confirm that they were coming in half an hour. She waited for five long minutes. Alric had already packed the bag.

He turned to look at her then. His eyes were full of pity as he shook his head slightly. Sophia quivered. Her whole body was shaking. She dialled the number again. And again. She dialled seven times but the line was busy. Her number was blocked!

As the thought sunk in, her face turned ashen. Alric laughed looking at her.

“This city is run by me!” the words would have been a joke from other mouths. But the way Alric looked at her, she did not doubt those words at all.

“I have warned you many times already. But you do not seem to listen. So you can not accuse me for being ruthless.” ruthless! He was threatening them to be ruthless?

“You!” she shook and pointed at him. But she did not know how to continue. She could spit a mouth full of blood.

Nora walked out of the washroom dressed in woolen clothes. But she still looked weak and sick.

“We are leaving Nora. I have packed a few things. Do you need anything else?”
