Chapter 282: I Like You

“You have imagined me walking in a torn dress while living in a dark and small room?” looking at her raised brow, Victor flushed. If only he had seen her old room!

“Victor! Trusting me is your choice. I will not explain the details of my room.” she looked into his eyes.

“And I thought you were here to congratulate me for my success.” Victor felt wronged. She was the one ignoring him completely. She did not pick up his calls at all. She did not invite him to a celebratory dinner and she did not tell him everything.

Victor took a deep breath to suppress all those complaints. It had been weeks since they last saw each other.

“Congratulations.” he pulled in his arms, “i have missed you a lot. How have you been.” Victor rubbed his face on her soft hair.

He had missed the feeling of having her in his arms. Everything seems much better now.

Nora let go of the stifling feeling in her heart as she leaned on him. But she did not feel the warmth she was expecting. There was a strange void in her heart that seemed to gnaw her chest.

“I did well. How have you been?”

“Oh, the course is almost finished. I joined the office for winter vacation. Now I am working as an assistant manager and developer of the game you have designed. I have brought this for you, too.” He took out a check and passed it to Nora.

But he could tell that she was wearing branded clothes. All the clothes on the bed were branded too. How could she lack university fees when she was living such a luxurious life?! Something did not match her. But he did not ask her.

Even if he asked, she would not tell him. So what was the use!

Nora stared at the cheque with relief. Now she did not need to worry about the upcoming event.

“Thank you, Victor. You did not know how much it would help me.” he did not know! Victor agreed. He really did not know.

“Alright love birds, mom said do not spend time alone in her room. You need to join us in the dining room.” Penny rolled her eyes as she noticed Nora in Victor’s arms.

“Ah! Should I stay or leave?” Nora knew what their plan was! She only shook her head and followed Penny. For now, she needed to win their trust.

They have to believe that she returned to being a submissive girl.

Victor had a conflicting feeling as they sat on the sofa. Mrs Stone was reading a file there. When she noticed Victor, she smiled warmly at him.

“Ah! Penny had told me about you. I wish Nora would have. But you are welcome here. Sit gentleman.” she waved her hands with a warm look.

It did not match the expression she had when she visited the school. She seems to be a completely different person. As if their roles had reversed suddenly.

The coffee table was covered with all kinds of assortments. Various snacks, desserts and freshly brewed warm coffee.

“Are you feeling better now?” Sophpia held Nora’s hands and squeezed it. Nora wanted to laugh. She lowered her head and nodded. “Thank goodness. Here, this coffee would help you.” She passed the cup to Nora first and only then did Penny have one to victor and took one.

Victor was slow in his actions. As he held the coffee and took a sip of it, he noticed how Sophia personally filled Nora’s plate with the snacks.

There were muffins, eclairs and cupcakes.

“What do you like, Victor?” Sophia smiled when she noticed him staring at Nora’s plate. “I can fill the plate for you too.” Victor flustered and looked away.

“I know you must have imagined me as a cold and brutal aunt who whipped her niece. But I have told you that she was pampered here. Forget it, I can not change your impression of me. All I want is.. You to be sincere toward Nora. what do you think about her?” Victor paused. He stood straighter than before.

“I like her. And I am thinking of dating her with marriage in mind. As long as she agrees, we will get married after finishing our graduation.” Sophia nodded with a satisfied smile. A family with their own business.

They have a name in the business world with neither too rich nor too poor families. If Nora did not benefit them by marrying Benard, it could be good too. They could forget about her existence completely.

“And your family. Did they accept her?” Nora paused and raised her head to look at victor too when he paused.

“My mother likes her. My father thinks I am too young to make such decisions. As long as I am successful, he will accept my decisions.” Victor smiled confidently as he held Nora’s hands pressed on it.

Nora stared at their joined hands. She did not understand what Sophia wanted. Should she not get rid of Victor and force her to marry Benard!? Or any other shareholder who could benefit them.

But Sophia was really considering her marriage with Victor. Even Penny was not throwing a tantrum and supported this decision.

“Since you both are serious. We do not mind your dating. But if you hurt Nora, my husband would not let you go. He is very affectionate toward Nora.” she warned him lightly with a stern face, “apart from that, Nora… since you are with Victor, i hope you would stay loyal to him. Do not follow the footsteps of your mother. Her mistake had cost her..” Sophpia stopped abruptly as if she had said something she should not.

Sohpia bit her lips hard, looking reluctant.

“Forget it, I have some work to deal with. Youngsters should have fun by themselves.” She stood up and left abruptly. But Victor’s gaze deepened.

Who had visited Nora in the morning? What did Sophia mean?
