Chapter 289: Well Planned

“Miss, do you have an appointment?” the guard stopped Nora at the door frowning.

“I am here to meet victor. I am his friend.” she explained, but the man only sneered.

“And I am his relative. Yet, I need an appointment to meet him.” Nora frowned as the guard mocked her.

She took out her phone and dialled Victor’s number. It must have been more than two hours since Mrs Jhonson had called him. The meeting must have ended now.

The call rang twice before someone cut it. She called again, but this time the call was cut before it was connected. She called thrice but each time her call was blocked.

Her eyes narrowed.

“Sir, can you let me make a call? I will return after that.” The guard was watching her struggling. He hesitated but in the end, he passed her his phone.

Nora copied Victor’s number and called it again. This time the call was connected after five rings. But it was not Victor who picked up the call.

“Hello!” a sweet feminine voice echoed in the silent room.

“Where is Vincent?” The woman went silent after hearing Nora but then she laughed.

“You are surely dense as I have heard. Victor has already blocked your number, yet you are lingering on him. Do you have no shame?” the woman laughed, her voice was extremely cold and full of disgust.

Nora held the phone tightly.

“And you think your trick would work! When Victor would know that you have blocked me, he would only blame you, Miss Langdon.” the woman on the other side went silent at once.

Nora smirked.

“I know that you have liked him for a long time. But instead of playing tricks, it would be better that you confess to him and see. If he wanted to date someone from his school or an old woman like you.” Langdon gritted her teeth. She was only twenty three and often called a prodigy as she had become a manager at such a young age.

But when it comes to victor, she was still four years elder to him. It was the biggest reason that she never confirmed her feelings for him. She had waited patiently for him to grow and join the company. When he would be twenty five and secure a good position in the company, she would confess to him. Then twenty five and twenty nine would not be a big difference.

Langdon had never worried since Victor was not interested in girls. He was only interested in games his father designed and music and studies.

She was waiting patiently until he brought a new game and worked hard to make it a success. She had thought he liked the game, but who would have thought he liked the creator of the game.

She tried to brush it away. Everyone had a girlfriend or two when they went to university. But when she met Nora, she felt a strong threat from that girl. Nora was a shrew woman who could not be handled easily.

If Nora manipulated Victor completely, he would never be hers! Not only that, even madam supported Nora.

That had left Langdon uneasy. But what could she do except wait. Then she met her! Langdon took a deep breath, she had come too far to back away.

These days, she had been constantly manipulating Victor against Nora. she was sure that the day was not far away when Victor would lose his trust over Nora.

But if the girl fought back, Landon was not sure then. She had to keep Nora away.

“I do not know what you are talking about. You can try whatever you are planning. But Victor does not want to talk to you.” her voice was sharper now. Nora only laughed. She could already guess what had happened hearing Langdon’s panicked voice.

“Why the hell are you laughing?” The woman could not accept that a girl six years younger to her was insulting her.

“It is a pity that you think you can control things. You are worse than victor when it comes to naivety. He is getting manipulated by a woman he trusts, but you are getting manipulated by a woman you do not even know.” hearing Nora’s l;aughter, Langdon felt irked. But she was stunned to hear Nora’s next words.

How did Nora know that she had met a young girl?

“What nonsense are you spouting? I do not know.”

“And you will not know in the future too. You will not know until you will be destroyed.” Nora spoke in a voice full of pity. “I hope you do not regret your actions today.” without waiting for a reply, Nora cut the call.

The guard watched her intently. He had heard the whole conversation and guessed what had happened. Could it be that she really knows their master?

“Umm young girl i am only doing my duty.” he added when Nora smiled and returned the phone back.

“Yes, I know. Thank you for lending me your phone. Will you distribute the snacks in the office if Mrs Jhonson asks you to?” The man was stunned but he instantly nodded.

Nora called Mrs Jhonson and told her that she could not connect to Victor since he is still in the meeting. And wanted help with the snacks.

Mrs Jhonson was not a foolish woman. She checked the watch and her eyes narrowed.

“Nora, give me a minute. I know what I need to do. I will make it up to you next time.” Nora passed her phone to the guard. She instructed the guard and the man stiffened at once.

The guard personally took all the snacks to the office. Nora watched in silence as the man looked at Nora conflicted.

“Young miss, madam had said that i will let you in if you want to. I.. I am sorry.” Nora shook her head and turned to leave,

“It is as you said, you are only doing your duty.”
