“Ah! That’s..” the girl played with her hair, not sure how to reply to that. “We are just good friends. I am not sure..”

“So you are not his girlfriend yet.” Nora nodded with a smile, making the woman stunned. Chloe bit her lips. She was sure her act would convince anyone even if she did not whisper a word. How could a girl be so dense?

“But we are close enough.” she declared only for Nora to laugh with a bemused look.

“He is max! He is close with everyone. Has he proposed to you? Where is the ring?” Chloe’s hands clenched. How could a girl be so brazen?

“Look girl! You are too young. Are you even fit for dating? Do not pursue what could not be yours!” her cute and friendly demeanor was gone completely as she glared coldly at Nora and insulted her.

Others might not hear them, but they could feel Chloe’s ugly expressions. It caught the attention of many.

“If it could not be mine, then could it be yours? What gave you the confidence? Do you even like him or are you behind his position in the hospital? Let me tell you, despite such a prestigious position in the best hospital, Max did not have any savings. He donated everything he earned in the orphanage he had grown up in. He did not even have a good house.” The woman was stunned hearing it.

As if Nora could read every thought of Chloe’s mind. Chloe not only panicked but she was embarrassed by this brazen reply.

“You! Who said that I am dating him for his money. I have my own job and house. I.. i.. You are too much.” could a man with such a position lack money? Even if he donated now, he would not donate when he had a family.

As long as Max had good earnings, she did not need to panic. She did not need to mind a crazy girl.

“Your job and your house!” Nora laughed softly. “You mean following your boss all around. Why don’t you date him then instead? Why follow Max?”

“…..” this time Chloe was ashen. She looked at Nora as if she was trying to remember where she had seen the girl? There could be no way she was a stranger!

“I have insulted you. How?” Instead of feeling panicked or offended, Nora just smiled and leaned on her seat as she watched everyone look at them.

“Have I said something wrong about you? Or asked you to do something beneath your image.” her voice was so clear and confident despite everyone staring at her in confusion or malice.

It made Chloe more conscious of her image. Since Nora did not look guilty, they all waited for her reply.

“You..!” but she had no reply. She could not confess that Nora had questioned her relationship with her boss. No one would believe it.

“Is there any problem madam?” a woman dressed in a professional suit walked toward them and smiled. “If you are having trouble here, I invite you to sit in my cabin and wait there.” Chloe smiled with relief. She knew someone would come to help her.

She was about to thank the woman when Nora spoke first again

“Keira, did you get a promotion? Now you have a personal cabin?” the woman smiled with joy and nodded. But then she signalled Nora to stay silent and looked at Chloe professionally. “This way madam.”

Chloe held her purse tightly. Nora knew about her boss and her. She knew the staff here too. She knew Max! Could it be she was really pursuing Max and followed her to know more about her?

But her relationship with Max is not confirmed yet. She had given so many hints to him, but he had not proposed to her yet! She wanted to curse.

“No, I am leaving. I would return when Max is free since I am not here for treatment.” her voice arrived and hurt as if she had been badly bullied and left sniffling.

Keira frowned and looked at Nora. But Nora just shrugged. She wrapped her arm around Keira and pulled her in the corner.

“Keira, I thought you were interested in Max. Why is a new girl following him?” Kiera’s eyes widened. She had only met Nora a few times when she was admitted here.

How could she know? Looking at her widened eyes, Nora smirked.

“So it was true! I only guessed because you looked colder to that girl.” Keira blushed instantly but then she cleared her throat.

“Damn girl! What are you talking about? I am a professional here.” looking at her blushing cheeks, it was hard for Nora to accept it even with her dense nature.

She laughed and shook her head, earning a glare from keira.

“Alright! Even if you are professional you have to take the initiative or that girl will win. She is good at pretending to be weak and naive. And you know how the doc is! He had a soft corner for every weak person in this world.

You can not let him fall for her with you around. What would happen to my image if you lost!”
