Chapter 296: I Have No Idea

“Nora! Are you going somewhere?” Nora paused on her way. She had not noticed her aunt sitting near the window before.

Sophia was sitting on the recliner with her legs folded and her hands folded in front of her chest. A cold look on her face told Nora that she was furious.

“Not really!” Nora smiled and walked to her aunt with an innocent look, “i woke up early so decided to have a run.” adorned in shorts and sports bra, Nora looked more appealing.

Just her plain look was better than models. For some reason, SOphia wanted to ruin that face. Her chest heaved slightly with suppressed anger.

“Did someone visit us last night?” Sophia controlled her rage but her eyes narrowed and her voice icy.

Nora nodded in confusion. Something had happened? But what! Sophia wanted her to marry Benard, so it could not be him that irked her.

“Yes, uncle’s partner visited. His name was Benard I think.” an icy sneer on her face as she looked at the innocent girl. In the hell she could be this innocent!

Did Nora think they all were fools by acting in front of her when she had already shown her fangs!

“Oh, is that so? David must have requested you to be the hostess. Did they discuss any deal in the study?” Nora paused. It was not a random question.

Sophia knew that she went to study last night. But how? Nora blinked and smiled.

“Ah, no! I do not think they were there to discuss business. They were only drinking by the bar until..” Nora fidgeted, looking at her hands when Sophia smirked. Her eyes went colcer as if she wanted to devour Nora at once.

“Until..”

“Until uncle was completely drunk and fell on the ground. Then Mr Benard took him to your room and then he left.” Nora encountered everything in detail, but Sophia’s face only showed a sneer. “Then uncle asked me in his unconscious state to bring me the will. When I asked him which one, he said it was in his study room. I must bring it. I did not understand him so I wanted to leave. But he was adamant that I bring him.

I went to his study. But I could not find any will on his table. So I returned to my room and locked it. I was just.. I did not want to get beaten.” Nora was holding her hands tightly with her face lowered.

Her face looked pale as if she knew she had made a mistake. But how could a girl who had faced them boldly be scared!

“Ha! Do you think I am a fool? You are worried about getting beaten!” Sophpia stood up glaring at Nora. “You can act in front of David all you want, but your pitiful look will not work on me.” Nora flinched and took a step back instinctively making her aunt frown.

“I.. aunt, i do not want to return to this house too. But now that college is about to finish, I have nowhere to go and live and I also need my college fees and.. All I want is.. I do not want an argument. So as long as I can live here silently for a few months, you will pay me.” Nora shifted her weight from one foot to another looking worried.

As if she wanted to talk about anything but this. Her eyes staring at things around. Only then Sophia understood. Nora did not return home because they had requested her. But she did not have anywhere to go.

And now that her funds had ended, she wanted to bow her head in front of them. A strange kind of power felt in her hands. Sophia’s smirk went wider. Yes! That was it! Even if Nora had fangs, its poison was extracted by them.

“And what made you think that we will pay Nora? You have been such a disobedient girl in the last year. You have insulted me and your sister again and again.” Sophia’s confidence rose. She looked at the pathetic girl with strange dominance as if Nora was nothing a pest she could trample on her anytime she wanted.

Nora sneered in her heart. Just now, Sophia was so cautious but now, she was acting all high and mighty. It must be because she had always believed that Nora was powerless. Such a foolish woman? How was she controlled by someone like her in the past! But outside, her body stiffened and her eyes burnt instantly showing her rage.

“If you are not going to support me, then I will leave the house and find work.” Nora declared with her head high in the air. It stunned Sophia who had thought that Nora would only beg and kneel.

“You! Do you think you would get a job just like that! Do not dream.” challenged by Nora, Sophia felt insulted and glared at her.

But Nora only glared back, confusing Sophia.

“Aunt, as i said i do not want to get beaten but at the same time i would not bear silently if you beat me this time. I know my rights now. I only want to live here for a few months and find a job, then we do not need to see each other ever.” Nora sighed and turned calm again. Sophia blinked. This girl was crazy!

But at least, she did not have eyes on wealth or properties. As long as she wanted to leave. But still still need to handle Nora’s arrogance or the girl would be out of control.

“Nora..”

“Last night, why was uncle asking for a will? Is he making one already? Why?” Sophia paused as she saw confusion on Nora’s face. Will! What the hell was David thinking asking about the will from Nora.

Her face turned ugly instantly, but she covered it well.

“He did? I have no idea. But hold your wild thoughts, me and my husband are going to live a long life. And all these properties should belong to its rightful owner, penny.”
