“You are finally back! If you do not have a watch, buy one.” Penny hissed when Nora walked inside the house.

She frowned at once looking at Penny.

“What? Have you forgotten that you have been invited to lunch with me by uncle Jordan?” Nora blinked. She was sure Uncle Jordan, the senior shareholder, had invited her to their company for shooting of the advertisement during her congratulatory dinner. Except that he had not invited her anywhere.

“Ha! What was Jordan uncle even thinking of by inviting a careless girl like you. I should be the one shooting that advertisement only. If you do not want to go, I will make an excuse for you.” Penny stood up with her hands folded in front of her chest, looking dominating.

“Alright, then do that. Have a good day.” Nora rolled her eyes and walked away leaving Penny stunned.

She had never expected that Nora would refuse such a golden chance. She bit her lips and glared at Nora.

“How can you be so awful! I will tell him the truth instead.” At least, this should work! If it did not.. Penny pinched her arms under her dress as she cursed Nora in her heart.

“Hmm, do that! Good luck with your shoot.” Nora did not stop but climbed the stairs to go to her room. Penny stomped her feet and followed Nora.

She held the banister as if she wanted to crush it under her weight.

“I am not that shameless and heartless. The man would feel insulted. Can’t you just come and say hello? You can refuse yourself by giving a good excuse, Nora. uncle Jordan had been working with dad for a long time.” Nora finally paused and turned to look at Penny.

She was wearing a floral print Chanel dress. Her hair was set perfectly. She had put effort into her looks. She would not do that to convince an old man?

Why is her eyes panicking? Nora smiled softly as if she had noticed Penny’s anxiety.

“Why? I thought you wanted to shoot. I am giving it to you. You should be happy about it.” Penny flinched and narrowed her eyes.

“I do not take what belongs to others, Nora. you have to come with me tonight and refuse him by yourself. Only then would I ask for the role.” Penny took a deep breath, bracing herself. “If you do that, I will owe you a favor.” Her earnest look could have fooled anyone but Nora knew Penny too well.

She just shrugged and returned to her room.

“I will tell mom!” Penny warned as she stomped her feet but Nora ignored her and settled on her bed. No matter how Penny threatened her, she did not listen.

In the end, Penny gritted her teeth and threw the vase on the ground.

“You think you are a princess just because you are treated like one? Nora Stone, you are living at our mercy. Now stand up and follow me or I will drag you out by your hairs.” Penny hissed in a dominating voice.

“Ask uncle to throw me out then. Because I am not leaving with you.” Nora stood up and faced Penny. She was just an inch taller from Penny but when she looked at her with her cold eyes, Penny felt tiny in front of her. Nora’s aura was so strong that Penny could not move. And when she realized she was scared of this girl, she gritted her teeth and left the room.

“You will regret it!” she slammed the door as she cursed at Nora. Nora smiled wryly. She already had many regrets in her life, but this would not be one of them.

Penny gritted her teeth. She called her mother instantly,

“Mom, Nora is not ready to come. I have tried everything.” her voice was full of complaints. Sophia frowned on the other side.

“I will do something about it. Go and rest.”

“But mom!”

“Beep beep.” Penny stared at the phone with red eyes and threw it on the ground.

Nora washed her face and opened her computer when her phone started ringing.

Her lips curled into a vicious smirk as she checked the number.

“Hello!”

“Is it Nora Stone?” a professional voice came from the other side making her smirk wider.

“Yes, who is this?”

“Ah, I am the secretary of Mr Jordan. He had asked me to confirm your meeting with him today. This is related to the advertisement offer. The meeting place would be…” as the woman spoke in a professional tone, Nora could not help but chuckle, silencing the woman on the other side.

“Excuse me, did I spell a joke?” The woman sounded upset but Nora did not care.

“Oh, no! Not at all. But I want to speak to uncle Jordan before deciding anything. Or the woman who had paid you to make this call?”

“…” an eerie silence followed by her words.

“I think both are not available at this moment! It is alright, you can call me again if any of them decide to reveal themself.” Without any hesitation, Nora cut the call.

The woman bit her lips as she heard the beep sound and looked at Sophia with a red face.

“That girl knew that it was a trap from the start! But how?” How did Nora change so much? She used to be a naive girl! A puppet in their hands but now she speaks and behaves as if she knew their intentions. But how?

“Did you get the report?” The spy who had followed Nora all day nodded and shared the itinerary of Nora. But there was nothing suspicious about her actions. Her eyes narrowed just thinking about that troublesome girl.

“There is something Nora is hiding, we must know that. But before that you have to do one thing for me. You have to convince her to come to Cloud Nine bar tomorrow. My niece deserves a precious gift from her aunt.”
