“You are going out again?” Sophia raised a brow as she watched Nora dressed in a beautiful black dress. She regretted buying such dresses for her even if it was just for pretense.

“Yes, aunt. I have a date with Victor. But before that I am going to buy books for the university entrance exam. We need to return to school in a week and..”

“You are not going to give a university exam.” Sohpia cut Nora in a cold voice. “Your uncle and I have decided it is time for you to join the business since this is the last wish of your father.” Nora paused in her tracks. They were inviting her to join the business?

“Your uncle has decided to join the company as a secretary. You will get the chance to learn a lot through that position. If you perform well, you will be appointed as his assistant and then as a manager or the director of the finance department. Everything depends on your performance, Nora.” Sophia patted the space beside her.

With a reluctant look, Nora walked toward her aunt and sat beside her.

“Nora, you have already proven your worth by clearing the prestigious competition. Your uncle is giving you a golden chance, do not let it go. Do you understand? As far as your graduation, you can always apply for it after gaining some experience?” she patted Nora’s shoulders with a warm smile. Nora smiled back softly, giving a submissive impression.

“What about Penny? Is she going to give up on her studies too?” Sophia’s face went dark instantly.

“Are you comparing yourself with Penny?” Sohpia hissed. “Penny had me and her father, Nora! While you.. Forget it! I know you do not appreciate my kindness. I will tell your uncle that you refused. Go ahead and buy those books.” Wrapping her hands around her chest Sophia pointed at the door with her chin. But her eyes were warning Nora. take a step out, and you would regret it all your life.

“I didn’t mean it that way, aunt. I am happy to join the company. As you said, I can always start my graduation later.” Sophia’s lips curled into a smirk as she nodded. Her body is relaxing with relief. As long as Nora could not continue her studies! And if she be Benard’s secretary, he would win her over sooner or later.

“You still have some brains left! Good, then I will arrange the post for you. Get ready, we will go to work in an hour.” Nora watched as Sophia left with a satisfactory smile and chuckled.

In half an hour, Sophia drove Nora to the office. The staff paused and welcomed Sophia with handshakes or bows. Many followed her and escorted her to the chairman’s office.

David was working on papers. He frowned when he noticed Sohpia but paused when he saw Nora following her. He raised a brow but Sophia pretended she did not notice it. She knew how much David loved his image.

With four secretaries following them closely, David could only smile like a loving husband and offer them seats.

“I did not know that you were coming honey, if you had informed me, I would have cleared my schedule for you.” his eyes narrowed at Nora. her clothes matched the attire of secretaries standing behind her.

“Nora told me that she wanted to join the business when we were discussing her entrance exam.” Sohpia squeezed Nora’s hands as she spoke in an excited voice, “now I know you might believe that graduation is more important, but have you forgotten? My brother in law had also skipped university for opening this company.

She is following the footsteps of her parents and we should support her decision.” Nora wanted to clap hearing Sophia’s trembling voice with emotions and fake tears.

She noticed how the staff was moved by her words. They believe that Nora was a fool to give up on her education after winning a prestigious award but they would respect Sophia for accepting her whims and even supporting it.

“But there is no position fit for a drop out here.” David shifted at his seat as he realized what Sophia was trying to do. But the woman only smiled brightly.

“I knew you would be picky! So I have already discussed it with Mr Benard in advance. I heard that he needed a secretary. He is ready to give Nora a chance.” Nora froze on her spot. She had thought she would be given to an insignificant person so that the company would soon forget about her. Her heart stirred wildly and sweat started to cover her hands.

Benard! Chris Benard! She was going to be his secretary.

David’s eyes flickered too. Spencer had not taken another move. He must have thousands of girls flocking over her. Nora was a fool to let go of him. But if she could marry Benard!!

“If you have already planned everything, what can i say.” he shrugged lightly with a smile. “Nora, you have to work hard. Mr Benard is a strict and demanding man. But as long as you make him happy, your future will be set.” looking at the smile on her uncle’s face, Nora felt like snakes were crawling on her skin. Her whole skin itches and her desire to kill David had never been this stronger.

“Yes, uncle. I will do my best.” It was time to face her fears! Ruin the man who had brought her ruination.

“Great, Anna, guide her to her desk and explain her work. When Benard returns after the meeting, she will assist in making notes.” The girl nodded and showed Nora the way, leaving Sophpia and David alone in the room.

“What was that for?” The smile disappeared from David’s face as he glared at his wife. “I have tried hard to keep her away from the company. What if she learnt things she should not?”

Looking at her furious husband, Sohpia only leaned on her seat with a cold smirk on her face.

“She would be too engaged with Chris Benard for that, David. This time, she had to marry him.”
