Return Of The Heiress For Revenge - Chapter 304
Chapter 304: Ran Away 2
“Slam.”
“Clink” the glass fell from David’s hand and shattered on the ground. A shard of glass bounced and hit her knee. But Nora felt nothing.
She stared at her uncle’s closed eyes with disgust.
“Tch! You are sick!” She walked to the other side and held her uncle by his hair. She pulled hard enough for many hairs to break but the man did not wince or show discomfort. Looking at his sleeping face with such solace and peaceful look. She banged it hard on the table. Her eyes filled with hatred.
“You deserved to die instead of my family.” her low voice died before anyone could hear it. Her chest heaved with rage just thinking about the look on his face earlier. But she let him go.
She had taken a huge risk by mixing drugs in his drink. She picked up the bottle and flushed the rest of the drink in the washbasin.
Then she opened a few buttons of his shirt. She threw the papers around him. And then she tore her own dress from the corner.
Nora smudged her lipstick and loosened her rubber band. Her hair fell all over her face. After that, she opened the secret compartment of his table.
She picked up the old phone, the tape recorder and the rest of the files. And then opened her shirt and placed everything under it. After buttoning it, her dress looked strange but she wrapped her hands around her chest and ran from the room.
She noticed a maid in the distance cleaning the hall, but she ignored her and ran harder. Her sniffles and sobs filled the hallways.
The maid paused to look at her. But she could only see her back and the torn skirt of nora. She gasped but before she could stop Nora, Nora left the house. The maid only returned to her senses when she heard the sound of the engine.
She ran to the window only to see a car leaving.
The maid walked toward the study door. But she had just held the door when the sound of a shattering vase paused her. She flinched and then ran away.
“Miss Agatha, something had happened.” the maid reported to the housekeeper. The housekeeper frowned. And then the previous maid told Agatha how Nora had warned them to not come to the study.
“Forget it! If the master needed us, he would call for us. None of us had heard anything or seen anything.” The maids exchanged glances. The maid had already told how Nora’s skirt was torn and her shirt was falling from her shoulders.
Even a fool could understand what David had done! After dismissing everyone, the head maid called Sophia.
The sound of song and shouting reached her ears before she could hear Sophia.
“Madam!”
“Not now, Agatha. I am at the shoot. It is important for Penny.” The call was cut just like that.
Agatha stared at the cut call with a sigh. Her eyes had a complex look since she knew what had happened in the house all those years ago.
“Forget it. Since she did not have time for her husband, it had nothing to do with me anymore.” The house was cleaned and dinner was cooked. The maids left their duties for the day just like that.
No one went to see what David was doing inside the room alone. Sophia and Penny did not return till Agatha’s shift for the day was completed. So, she locked the door and left.
Nora drove for a long time but she realized she had nowhere to go. She had thought of stopping by the dorms. She had even driven there but she did not trust those rooms.
Then she drove to Jhonson’s house. She stared at the entrance with a longing look. She knew, if she would go and ask for shelter, Mrs Jhonson would welcome her, but when it comes to Victor. She bit her lips and started the car again.
In the end, she stopped in front of the hospital. The place was filled with strangers. She trusts Max there. But she could not expect him to understand her. They hardly knew each other in this life.
Only a face flashed in her memory who had offered her help multiple times. But she had even rejected it so often that she did not know if she had the right to go to him.
She touched the file clasping to her chest as she stared at the hospital.
“I need protection. I am sorry for being selfish again.” she took out her phone and dialled the number with regrets. She had promised herself, she would not dial this number again. She had told herself that she would not hold the hand she was going to discard. Now she could only hope that he would pick up the call.
“Hello!” Yet when she heard that velvety voice, her hands held the phone tightly and she could not reply.

“Nora..” hearing his puzzled voice, Nora took a deep breath and closed her eyes.
“I need your help.” the words came suddenly. She regretted saying them but they flew before she could hold her thoughts. Silence followed.
“Where are you!”
“I am in the parking lot. Mr Alric.” Before she could continue, the call was cut.
She stared at the phone and sighed. She had heard people. He must have been in a meeting or so.
“Nora, you are a fool! How could you juust…” She closed her eyes and let her head fall on the steering wheel. She should not have made that call.
“Knock! Knock.” Nora paused. She stared at the man she could see from the window. He looked like he had run all the way here. His eyes were full of worry and confusion. Yet, looking at his cold and dark face, she felt a strange warmth and relief inside her heart.
“Open the door.” he whispered and knocked the door again, “or I will break it.”
