“The biggest publishing channel, I want their support!” Alric raised a brow. He had thought she would take days to recover. But she already had a plan.

“I want a post to be viral. Can you make sure that it would not be taken down by any entertainment agency?” she had already closed the files. Her face was sharp and cold as if the pain had never washed them.

“Do you have something specific in mind?” she nodded, her hands slightly tightened as she stared at her phone and then started the video.

“Your sister is a star!”

“She is planning her debut. I want it to be released in a week after her advertisement. As her sister, I want to help her in publicity.” Alric chuckled at that.

Nora stared at him with a smile full of pain.

“Why will you offer that help to me? Who am I to you?” she was on edge. It made her wonder had she ever been offered a hand without asking something in return?

“You can be my wife!”

“…..” Alric felt his mouth go dry looking at her stiffened body and widened eyes.

“I need a wife. My mother thinks Amyra is best for me. But Ainston only wants partnership in the chain of hospitals. They want to control the biggest market of our country for their pharmaceutical business and I am the biggest barrier in it. Their daughter is nothing but a weapon for them to win it.” Nora’s lips parted. In her past life, Alric had indeed married Amyra but later, he had not only killed her but her whole family.

“You need a contract marriage to get rid of Amyra?” Alric’s eyes narrowed with a dangerous look in them. The way he titled his head and stared at her. She felt a strange fear crawling in her heart.

His hand slightly moved on her waist. For some reason, her skin started to burn beneath his touch.

“No, I want a real wife. With a real relationship. We will respect each other, cherish each other, love and even share a passionate sex. But what’s the issue? Were you not offering me yourself?” for the first time in her life, Nora blushed.

This man! She shook her head to clear her mind. Love and cherish? Once, she had dreamt of them. But now, there was nothing but revenge in her life.

“I can not give you that!” she confessed. She did not want to fool this man. He was so different from what she had imagined.

“That is not your concern. As long as you marry me, I promise I will love and cherish you. My power would be yours to wield. But if we still could not love each other. I will divorce you in two years.” That was a tempting offer. Nora bit her lips as she could not say no to it. Even when she knew it was too unfair to him.

“You have nothing to lose.” the man shrugged and finally let her go. “If you agree, we can announce our relationship tomorrow.”

“I already have a boyfriend.” She cut him, making him scoff.

“That boy? He was kissing his boss the other day.”

“Well, that explains.” Alric frowned. He had regretted telling her. He did not want to break her further. But when she only nodded with a look of understanding, he felt like a fool.

“You do not even love him.” he scoffed and she sighed as if she could feel a headache already.

“I do not love you too, Alric. Love is something I can not do.” the way she said those words plainly, it broke his heart for some reason.

“I am up for the challenge then, Nora.” he took a step closer to her again. “Marry me. As long as you can stay loyal to me, I will not demand anything.” That was what Victor had said too. Benard… She did not even want to think about her marriage anymore.

“How about we make a contract if you are doubtful. We can both write our conditions. But this would not be a sham marriage.” Nora closed her eyes and rubbed her forehead. She could not let go of that offer.

“I have warned you. It is a losing contract for you. But yes, if you are serious. I am ready for marriage. My only condition is.. You will never stop me from taking my revenge no matter what way I choose to take it.”
