Chapter 309: Two Timer

“Did you find her?” David picked up the call and asked his assistant. It had been two hours since he had woken up. He had thought he would feel better once that ugly woman would not be in front of him, but her words lingered in his mind and he felt nothing but irritation.

“Yes, sir. Miss Nora is on her way home. but..” David snorted and cut the call.

“So much drama for nothing!” he scoffed and stood up. After taking a good bath, he felt the headache subsiding. When he walked to the dinning room for breakfast, he was not surprised to see only Agatha serving him.

“Where is she?

“Madam is in her room. Shall I call her?” Agatha did not raise her head or show she knew something. That was why she had survived in the house for so long.

“Tell her that Nora will be here anytime. She did not need to worry.” before he could say further. They heard the sound of the car and he smirked.

Gulping rest of the coffee in a single gulp. He stood up. But frowning, he sat again.

“Go and bring Nora here. I want to deal with her first.” The woman knows better than to argue.

She went to open the door. But was stunned to see that the young lady was not alone. She was dressed in a different dress. Instead of shaking with fear, she was glaring with a cold look on her face. Something about her had changed!

Could it be the man behind her? She took a step back and let the couple enter together. Nora entered the house and scanned the hall. When she found no one there. She held the man’s hand and went toward her room.

Agatha hesitated. Should she let a stranger directly into her room?

“Young miss…” Nora paused in her tracks. She raised a brow at Agatha. Agatha spoke in a stern voice. “You left the house unannounced last night. Sir and madam were so worried for you. Sir is waiting for you in the dining room. You must join him there.” She wanted to speak further. Scold Nora, so that she did not dare to mention the events of the night.

Which brazen woman would shout that her own uncle forced her! Nora must have taken the hint.

“Worried for me that I disappeared or worried that I would return with the cops?” Nora chuckled softly but her voice was full of coldness that stunned Agatha.

She was not expecting such a cold reply.

“Young miss!” she warned but Nora just scoffed.

Hearing her voice, Sophia came out of her room. Her face was red with rage. She was about to teach the girl a lesson for seducing her husband. But paused in her tracks. She was stunned to see Alric standing in the hall again.

“This man! This man again!” how many times had he interfered in their life already.

“Nora!” she scowled. “Where the hell were you last night?” her eyes narrowed at Alric as she glared at her niece.

“Did the staff not tell you aunt or you are feigning ignorance so that you could put blame on me later?” Nora folded her hands around her chest and looked at her aunt with contempt.

Sophia paused. She knew this look in her eyes. It was Nora she had met in school. Unperturbed and confident girl that seems like a danger. But today, she could not let Nora win.

Sophia walked closer and laughed softly. Her eyes seem to be mocking Nora.

“Is it because of him? Do you get inflated every time you get support? Even when you know that you have nothing but us in the end? Has it not happened once already? Or you never learn from your mistakes.” That should be enough to remind Nora how she had begged for forgiveness when she had returned home.

Even when she had won recognition from the world. When she had won an award, she was still helpless in front of them.

She waited for Nora to shiver and beg but the girl only sneered with contempt.

“I have proof of last night. My phone was on and the call was recorded, aunt. If you want to test the water, you would regret it.” Nora did not lower her voice that made Sophia’s eyes widen with terror.

Her eyes snapped to Alric standing in the corner. From the start to the end, he was there as a bystander. But when their eyes met, she felt the desire to kill in his cold eyes. Sophia gulped and took a step back instinctively.

“What is this ruckus about?” David was listening to the conversation. He had thought Sohpia could handle the girl easily. His presence would only bring more ire.

But he was stunned to see Nora winning. How did the girl change so much just in a night?

Nora tilted her head but her eyes showed no surprise. As if she had expected him to come at this moment. But before she could speak, the man took a step forward.

Nora stared at Alric. But in the end, I paused. Alric smiled coldly at David. His mere presence left David sweating. This was bad!

“I am here to announce my relationship with Nora.” Alric held Nora’s hand and entwined their hands. “Not only that but we are here to take her luggage. She is shifting with me.” it was not a question anymore.

David gritted his teeth. But he did not refuse. Looking at her husband who could let this golden hen go, Sophia felt unsecured. If Nora would leave, they would lose all the wealth in her name. She could not let that happen!

“She is still a minor. She could not leave like that even if it is you, Mr Spencer. Are you both dating now? Only recently she had shown her interest in young Jhonson from the Johnson’s family. I am sure you know about them.”
