“Of course I do, Mrs Stone. I know my little temptress is popular among men. I even heard that she had joined your office as secretary of Chirs Bernard.” looking at the ease on his face, Sophia felt goosebumps on her skin.

What kind of a man was he!? Does he have no ego?!

“Ah, yes. Even Mr Benard is mesmerized by our little girl. But as i said, she is still minor. And could not leave with any of you.” She walked closer and held Nora’s other hand. “So it would be better that you let her go.”

“What if I do not want to?” Alric asked back with a smile but his eyes were cold and dominating that Sophia felt a shiver run down her spine.

“Are you..”

“That is enough.” David glared at Sophia. “Mr Spencer, how about we discuss the matter privately as adults. Let the girl stay here.” Nora shook her head but Alric met David’s eyes. After a second of tension, he nodded and followed David into his study.

The maids had just cleaned the room. He could not see the broken shards anymore as he stepped in. Yet he could imagine how Nora had struggled last night. How much she had suffered.

His jaw clenched instinctively and the desire to punch this man filled him.

“Nora is a minor and I reserve her guardianship.” David announced at once, making Alric laugh.

“Yet you tried to molest the girl last night. She ran away in torn clothes. If not for me..” he did not continue but the dripping poison in his voice made David flinch.

“The girl had misunderstood. Even if you try, you could prove nothing. It would only attract bad publicity. She would only be named as a slut who spread her legs in front of her uncle. I am sure you do not want such a thing to happen.” David smiled. He had already suffered last time.

This time, he would not have had this man had an upper hand.

“If you like her, I am sure you want a good image. To be honest, I am in support of your relationship with my niece. But as you know, we have taken good care of her all these years while her parents died at an early age.

I have handled the company, house and her. It was a difficult task for me too. As long as she relinquishes her rights over the company in exchange, I will let her go with you.” David took out papers from his desk and passed it to Alric. “No question would be asked about her future once she leaves. I know the heart of a man could be changed anytime. Without the support of her family, she would never be able to accuse you or leave you even if you bring more lovers later.” David smirked as if he knew the weak points of Alric already.

Bring more lovers! Alric’s eyes narrowed. Even if Nora would never love him, he would never do something like that!

But to hear him! Alric felt disgusted.

“Not everyone is a heated dog, David. I know how to control my body.” David frowned. His grip on the pages tightened.

“Then are you telling me you are going to use your stick on my minor niece to fulfil your lust, Mr Spencer!” David titled his head with contempt but Alric only felt furious.

“She is not a..”

“Yet you want her. Despite knowing her record with men or that her own uncle almost had it? Do you want me to believe that it was her soul or her mind that you were interested in, not her body?” hearing the mocking sneer Alric punched the wall behind David.

David’s eyes widened. He froze at his place while the documents fell on the ground, slipping from his hands.

“You! You… I can sue you for attacking me.” his trembling finger was pointed at Alric. But Alric only raised a brow.

“Why? Didn’t you clarify there is no camera here and no one can prove what happened inside.” Alric took a step back closer. David felt the sweat trickle his back and his hands. An impending feeling of doom scared him.

“Alric!”

“I will not kill you that easily! After all, you are my in-laws. For now, I am taking her with me. And these papers. Only she had the right to decide what she wanted to do with her rights over these properties.” Alric bent and collected all the papers.

David could only breath when Alric walked out of the room with those papers. He sucked in a deep breath and rubbed his chest.

“That son of a bitch!” David cursed and dialled a number.

Alric paused when he noticed Nora was staring at the door without blinking. Looking at the nervousness and worry in her eyes, a strange warmth touched his heart.

The way her body relaxed when he smiled at her changed something in his cold heart.

“Where is David?” Sophia frowned when Alric walked out alone.

But before she could accuse Alric, his cold gaze paused her. David walked out behind Alric after a few seconds.

“Nora, if you want to leave, you have to sign these papers. Or I will take Alric to court. He would be charged for molesting a minor and forcing her to leave her guardian’s house.” David announced as soon as he walked out.

Alric furrowed his brows and glared at David but the man only sneered.

“And I have already discussed the matter with many publishing houses. A step forward and I am sure Alric would be disowned by Spencer’s. I am sure you know that he is an illegitimate child. He only has power because he never created trouble for his family. But once, you will be added to the mix..” David laughed as if he had everything in his hands.

But Nora was not worried about it. She had already anticipated that she had to pay the price if she wanted to leave with Alric. But..

“Why did you not sign the papers?”
