Alric frowned, meeting Nora’s gaze.

“The papers are yours!” She blinked. But if he had brought her here, he must have planned it. No?

As if he could read her mind, his frown grew deeper.

“You do not need to give up on anything to leave with me. I will handle them. I have more dirt on them than they could ever fathom.” David flinched at his words. He glared at Alric and gritted his teeth.

“Mr Spencer, I advise you to choose your words wisely.” David warned but as if Alric could not hear or see him. He kept staring at Nora as if waiting for her decision.

“You mean I can leave without giving up on my rights as the owner of the shares and properties. And if it will not affect your company or your position?” how could a smart girl like Nora not know that every action had their consequences?!

“Do you seriously believe..” David interfered but Nora did not look at him either. They both treated him as invincible.

“I promise you.” as if a strong weight had been lifted from her shoulders, Nora’s shoulders slumped slightly and she closed her eyes.

“nora! You dare!” David warned but she laughed, cutting him off.

“You have no idea how much I can dare, uncle. But for that to start…” She walked closer to him and before he could scold her, she raised her hand hard and slapped him.

“Slap!” a strong echo filled the room. David’s hand instinctively covered his cheek but the rest of his body seemed to be frozen. He only stared at her dumbfounded as if he could not believe what just happened. Even when his cheeks feel the sting, his mind refused to believe that Nora could slap him.

“You bitch! Have you lost your mind.” Sophia was the first to react. She held Nora by her wrist and turned her to face her. She was ready to slap Nora back. But before she could, a punch landed on her nose.

It was so sudden that she was not prepared. She took a step back, staggered and covered her nose with her hands.

“It hurts! David, it hurts.” she cried with tears in her eyes. Only then did David blink.

His face was so dark and ugly as if he could kill someone.

“Save it! If you shout out loud, gossip will spread that your niece slapped you for molesting her.” she scoffed at David. The man had never seen Nora behaving like that.

In her memories, she had always bowed her head and followed their commands. Could a person change so much in a single night?

“Nora!” he warned but Nora only clicked her tongue. She looked past David and found an amused Alric smiling in the corner.

Her cheeks burnt looking at him.

“Shall we leave now?” Alric nodded as if waiting for her to finish it. He walked toward her and took out his handkerchief.

Standing in front of her, he cleaned her hand meticulously. “If you do not clean it, you might get an infection,” he even explained. Sophia glared so hard that her eyes might pop out.

Everything happened in slow motion for the couple as Nora left with Alric who threw the handkerchief on the ground after cleaning her hand.

“Stop them.” Sophia demanded. “I will kill that girl with my own hands.”

David gritted his teeth too. His eyes were burning with hatred.

“I can not let it go that easily. That bastard had to pay for this insult. Leave it on me.” Sophia clenched her hands into a fist. She glared at her husband.

“Leave it on you! We are only in this condition because I have left it to you all these years!” she hissed. “Now it is time that I get rid of that girl myself.” clicking her high heels on the ground, Sophia left the room huffing with anger.

David rubbed his cheeks, his eyes burning with rage but there was undenying pleasure beneath it.

“Little bitch! You have grown the personality of your mother just like her face! I could not have her before but that did not mean i can not have you. You will regret waking up the monster in me!” his lips curled into a vicious smile.

Alric closed the car door behind her and went to sit on the driving seat. He passed the file to Nora.

“Your uncle wants all the properties in his name. He would not let the matter go that easily.” Nora took the file and flipped the pages. She already had a list of the properties on her name from the files she had stolen last night.

It matched every single property here.

“He wants to end me penniless. Why am i ot surprised?” she laughed but worry filled her instantly. “Are you sure you can handle it? If your father..”

Alric scoffed as if he heard abuse.

“I do not have a father. I live with my mother and even though she is out of the country.” he checked the signal before driving at full speed.

Nora could notice the tornado in his eyes. Feeling her intense gaze, he smiled.

“We are returning to the hospital for now. You can live in the suite up there. I will find a different place for me.” he turned the car.

Nora frowned looking at his calm face. For some reason she felt he was intentionally not looking at her.

“Why? Can we live together there? I am not that noise. And we need to convince everyone that we are in love.” Nora held the door tightly when the car sped faster than a racing car. What the…

“What was that!” The car suddenly stopped and it was a wonder they reached this hotel in one piece. “How could you drive so far in traffic. What if… and where are we? I thought we were going to the hospital.” Alric pointed at the parked car behind them. Nora knew the car too well.
