Chapter 320: Stay With Me

“This is your important task?” Alric swept his gaze on the dance floor. How the girls were swaying in the arms of men much older than them.

“Are you even allowed to be at such a place?” his brows furrowed. The ambiance was dark and steamy. He would not be surprised if one of them started to have sex in the open the way they were making out.

Nora was not following his gaze. Her eyes were searching for the bar section. Alric frowned and held her hand when she took a step forward.

“Where do you think you are going? Stay with me.” he could not let her be at such a place.

“Do you know how to play those games?” she pointed at the tables where men were playing poker and blackjack. “Which one can you play better?” Alric frowned at once.

He had never been to a gambling house even when he needed money desperately.

“Luck would be the last thing I will believe in. If you need instant money, there are better ways!” He held her hand tightly with the intention of dragging her.

But he felt dumbfounded when she looked disappointed.

“Is that so! What a shame.” shame!! Shame? It was a shame that he was not a gambler. Alric felt exasperated. It was hard to understand her chain of thoughts.

“I apologize, madam. Were you in need of a gambler for your lover?” he did not want to sound sour, yet he knew his voice betrayed him.

Nora tilted her head to look at him. From the time they entered this wretched place, this was the first time she had turned to look at him.

“Lover?” Alric flinched when she whispered the word. It felt completely different from her mouth. A strange sensation hit his spine but she shook her head immediately.

“I do not need a lover but a gambler who could win for me. I have been practicing the game for six months but I am not that sure.” she was! He did not see her playing her ever.

“You can not learn such things by playing once or twice. Forget it, we will discuss it once we leave this room.” he wanted to drag her out but she was swift and took her hands away.

“But I have been playing it almost every day. Even when I was studying for the competition.” She grinds like a professional player. “I only want to check my hand before I sit there for the main game.” as she stared at the tablets with glittering eyes while he tried to take her away, the manager noticed his hesitation.

With a broad smile on his face, he walked to Alric.

“Seems like madam wants to try a few games. Sir, how about I guide you about the rules here?” With an easy approach, the manager did not ask him if they knew how to play or not but offered his help for everything.

Nora did not turn to know that Alric wanted to leave. His face was already dark and cold.

“Yes, I want to try blackjack.” Alric frowned and even when the manager nodded and guided them to the table, he did not move an inch.

Nora turned to look at his dark face with narrowed eyes. She felt guilty for dragging him without his wishes. She could not depend on him so much.

Now that the contract had been signed for a large order by Mojo Ltd. she had a few millions saved. She was sure she could manage it without his help.

“If you do not want to try, you can go. I will return home later.” but those words of consideration sounded cold and indifferent to Alric. As if the girl could not wait to get rid of him.

His eyes went dark and a surge of coldness filled his chest.

He let go of her hands. Though Nora had suggested it, she felt a strange emptiness. But smiling at him, she nodded and turned to leave with the manager.

The manager was not sure anymore. He looked at Alric with deepening eyes. It was not like he looked down on girls. But this one was too young. He was not sure if she could even play.

“Sir, isn’t madam underage?” he seemed worried, “i apologize, but i can not take her in if she is alone.” Alric had never planned to leave her alone. He was planning to sit near the bar counter and watch her.

But who would have thought. A cold smirk appeared on his lips when he watched her agitated face. How he wanted to go with her but when she turned to plead with him, he looked at her with a raised brow and smug look.

“Alric!” it was rare for her to pout and look at her with those animated eyes. Alric melted then and there, but he had to use this rare chance.

“What is the issue! I thought you wanted to go alone?” Nora bit her lips when he titled his head and looked at her with a provoking gaze. It was clear that he was doing it intentionally.

“Alric, I owe you this one.” she begged him with her eyes. The manager started to leave.

“Hmm, how about you promise me to grant something then?” His voice was ambiguous and she felt a strange heat washing over her when his eyes moved to her body before returning to her face. Alric licked his lips as if he could not wait to eat her up.

Her cheeks flushed. But she could not lose this chance, she was preparing for it for a long time.

“Alright, I will grant you any wish as long as I win.” Alric laughed. This woman was a shrew! She would only grant his wish if she won! If she lost, her efforts would be wasted. As if noticing his displeasure, she added hurriedly, “but as long as you accompany me for this night, i will cook all your meals everyday until we are together.”
