The manager smiled again when Alric finally followed them. It was a tough gamble, Nora was sure that he would refuse. Who would have thought that the man would agree just like that.

Alric held Nora by her waist this time. Heat was burning her waist, but she kept her mind clear as she scanned the men sitting on the table and having the time of their life.

Their cheers and loud bangs on the table made her curious too. She looked like a young lass wanted to taste forbidden sin.

“Is the lady playing or you would, sir?” reaching an empty seat, the manager smiled at Alric. There was only one empty seat. Five other players stared at Alric and Nora with interest.

Nora frowned and looked around.

“I do not want to sit here. The color of this table does not suit my dress. I want to sit on that table.” the manager frowned when Nora pointed at a distant table.

“That..” could this girl be any more foolish! She wanted to choose the table matching her dress?

Nora was wearing a red cocktail dress. And the table she had chosen had red cover while this one had a champagne color table cover.

“How about I arrange to change the table color madam?” The manager was habitual of hearing bizarre requests, he adapted to it quite well. But Nora only pouted like a child throwing a tantrum.

“Why? Why could I not go to that seat?” she leaned on Alric’s chest and pulled his sleeves. “Honey, I want to sit there.”

The manager frowned and explained, “madam, that table is for professionals. Every player there is an old dealer. You are bound to lose if you sit there. This one here is for new players.

Everyone here is trying their luck for the first time. I do not want to be blamed for cheating later.” Alric nodded at once, impressed by the manager when the players nodded their heads looking embarrassed.

But Nora only pouted. She looked like she was suffering grievances.

“Have I not told you that I have played this game before? I do not want to sit with fools. I want to go to that table.” this time it was not a request anymore.

The manager felt at the loss of words.

“That table already has six members madam.” he struggled and looked to Alric for help. But Alric was only staring at the girl as if he was looking at her for the first time. Useless fool!

“It is alright, we will try that table. Even if we lost, we lost. We will not hold you liable.” the manager sighed. More fools to handle.

“Very well, please come with me.” he went to the table and whispered something to a guest. The guest turned to look at Alric and Nora and then nodded.

He stood up and emptied his seat for Alric. But surprisingly Nora sat there. Alric stood behind her like a guard.

Everyone at the table frowned. Men were sitting while sexy women were accompanying them. They were either sitting on the lap of the man or standing behind them cheering them on.

But even when they frowned and looked at Nora suggestively, Nora feigned ignorance. Her sparkling eyes were only staring at the staff waiting for him to explain the rules.

The man felt discomfort and hurriedly explained the rules of the game and distributed cards. Finally her eyes settled on the man sitting on her left.

The man seemed to be drunk and enjoying the girl in his lap. He had spared only one glance at Nora. but Nora had changed herself enough for him to not recognize her.

“Xander, you should not play this one. You have already lost a lot. Do you even have money left?” Nora’s breath hitched as she heard those words and stared at the man.

The man felt rage by those insulting words. He glared at them.

“If I am playing, I still have money. Why are you worried? If you do not dare to play, you can leave.” How could Xander not know? They all were sure that the girl was going to lose, so they wanted less people to take advantage of her.

But he had lost enough, even if he had to take out a loan, he would play this game. This girl would help him in winning all the money he had lost.

“Ah! It’s a shame then.” Nora shook her head. “Can the rest of us start the game then?” She looked brightly at others, leaving them stunned for a moment.

Girls here were experienced but mature. A fresh and puerile girl like Nora was rare to find. They all were spellbound for a second.
