Chapter 324: Wrong Phone?!

“I was keeping an eye on the shareholders. I knew that he was an easy target. When I was told that he had been losing everyday yet coming to play, I knew where to find him. It was just a gamble if he would play with shares or not.

I tried my best. If he had not used shares today, he would have used them tomorrow with his bank balance declining. I was just lucky that I did not need to behave like an imbecile for a long time.” Nora shrugged and started walking again.

Alric knew that she was still hiding something. But her explanation was spot on. He did not find any mistake in it. And there could not be any other explanation. It was not like she could see the future.

“You bitch! You have fucking played me.” Xander infally comes back to his senses. The girl who didn’t even know how to hold her cards won from him. From him!

He felt like a fool sitting there. Not to forget the smirks and sneers he got from his partners. He should be the one winning but now he has lost everything. He had no house to return to. His father would kill him.

“Stop right there.” he ran behind Nora. As if Nora was scared by his command, she stopped at once.

Tilting her head, she looked at him in confusion.

“Did I forget something?” Xander only saw red. He wanted to kill this witch and take what belonged to him.

He did not waste his time in oral battle but lunged at Nora at once. But before he could even touch Nora, Alric held him by his neck.

His arm wrapped around Xander.

“Did you treat me as air? You would hurt my wife and I would stand here and do nothing.” gasps filled the room. The manager returned with guards.

“We will handle it sir, you may leave with madam.” his voice had a hint of worry and professionalism but Alric only chuckled without letting go.

“You were standing near him yet he ran to attack my wife!” The words were icy and filled with contempt. “How would you control him now?”

“….” the manager’s eyes flickered. He had intentionally let Xander go because even he did not believe that a naive girl won that game. It felt so surreal.

He wanted Xander to scare the girl so that the truth could come out. He had betted on the fact that Alric had not interfered in the game from the start.

So perhaps.. He was wrong. But he had not committed any mistake so he was not worried.

“Sir had been an old customer in our house. But he had never created chaos. So I did not know he would lose his mind now. But now, we will handle it.” the man’s chest tightened seeing Alric sneer.

But he held his ground. Alric’s eyes narrowed. The pressure on Xander’s neck increased, making the man groan in pain.

“It is alright. He had lost everything so it is understandable.” Nora smiled instead. She did not look affected at all.

“Xander, is it? I can return the home to you instead. But for that, you have to help me a bit too. Contact me if you are interested.” she leaned toward Alric and took out his card from his pocket.

The man stiffened and froze at once as she searched his pocket and took out the card.

“Here!” She placed her other hand on Alric’s arm. Alric glared at Xander but pushed him away.

The man stumbled before regaining his balance. He glared at Nora as if he wanted to tear her apart then and there.

“What game are you playing now, bitch?”

“A game that will benefit you. But like always, the choice is yours.” she laughed and then walked away with Alric.

As they sat in the car, Nora felt Alric was angry because he was too stiff. Her chest tightened with guilt. She had been using him from the start while hiding the truth from him.

“Xander’s father had connections with all the shareholders. If he uses his connection, I will buy more shares through his help. Here is all the money I have taken in loan from you. You can keep the extra I had earned too. I only need that house for the bait and the shares.” her voice was sincere yet Alric did not turn to look at her.

He did not even take the money but started the car. Nora noticed he was driving faster than usual. His eyes looked cold too.

“Can you drive the car? You have drunk a glass or two?” She tried to change the topic as she felt the air in the car was too stifling.

“If I want, will you drive the car?” he asked back and laughed. “I would not be surprised if you know how to drive.”

How could a young girl have answers to everything? He would be a fool to believe she was just smart. Nora bit her lips. She indeed knew driving. She had driven the car for years.

But there was no way her uncle would teach a minor a car. She should not know it.

“Alric..” Nora searched for her words when his phone rang. He did not move to take it out as if he was concentrating on driving. The phone rang for a long time before stopping.

“I know that it is hard..” the phone rang again with urgency. Nora sighed and shook her head.

“Forget it. You should answer the call first.” but he did not move. She stared hard at him until the phone stopped ringing. But it started ringing again immediately. Frowning, Nora leaned and searched for the phone in his pocket.

The man stiffened once again.

“Strangely, I found the phone but I could not take it out.” she frowned but then her eyes widened as if she had realized something.

“Nora..” the voice came out from the depths of hell, pausing her. “My phone is in my other pocket.”
