Chapter 33: A Gem

Nora ran faster even when her body started to shiver with pain and wanted her to give up. Her eyes filled with so much darkness that there was not a hint of life in them.

All she could do was run to contain the hatred in control. The voice of her daughter kept ringing in her ears.

“We will kill her after you. Or.. should we sell her for money like we have done with you?” the question kept stinging her ears and clawing her heart. She felt like she could not breath yet she ran.

How far she had come from the school dormitory premises. Where was she going? She had no idea. Last night she had the nightmare again and before she knew it, she was running like fools.

She took the turn and warm hand grabbed her arm and pulled her in the dark alley. Instinctively, she used her elbow to punch the man on his stomach and struggled.

“So not only you are running away. But you are daring enough to assault me for that. Hmm?” Nora’s whole body froze at once. The familiar scent of mint made her close her eyes.

Her body slowly started to relax and then she was highly aware of his splayed palm on her bare waist. She was only wearing a sports bra and shorts as she ran, covered in sweat and tears.

“Your hands.” she whispered, breathless.

The scent of a young girl fully covered in sweat. A drop of sweat teasing her lips and her fair skin like shining pearls. So soft that he could leave a mark just pressing a little made him pause.

The way she spoke those words left a man with desire. Her body was leaning on his chest and he could feel her rough heartbeat.

“I honked the horn a dozen times. My assistant even called you a few times. Why did you not reply?” his hand only tightened around her waist and his other hand came for her ponytail. Slowly, he moved it away from her neck. Her bare slim and tall neck made his eyes darkened and his muscles tightened. He felt a gush of heat passing through his lower body that left him shocked too.

“You don’t even have earphones that obstructed our voice.” he leaned and whispered into her ears. He wanted her to be a little restless as he was. But she did not. She didn’t even flinch at the connection. As if she could not feel his breath on her skin that surprised him again.

A naive seventeen year old girl. She had never been in contact with any man. Alric had read her file last night. It said that she was too submissive, scared and easily panicked. It even said that she is very emotional and easily cries. But the girl standing in front of him did not meet the description at all. Her sharp eyes were like hawks ready for hunting. It reminded him of himself when he was young.

“I was thinking.” Nora collected her thoughts. She covered his hands with hers and then moved his hand away from her body. “And I was not told that you would be meeting me today, that I will be prepared. What are you doing here?” The icy tone she used could not belong to a submissive girl. And the look on her face.. For some reason, his eyes fell on her lips again and how he wanted to touch the teasing drop of sweat from her lips.

But he had learnt to hide his thoughts a long time ago. Despite the tensions his body was feeling, his face was cold and impassive and his eyes were dominating.

“And I was not told that you would be running away.” He took a step back and leaned on the dark walls of the dark alley. It hit his face in the dark. And only his voice could be heard which made it more terrifying.

“Do you know you have run almost four miles? You are too far from the security of the school, barely dressed. What if you meet a dangerous person?” he was only teasing her, scaring her so that she would realize the impact of her actions.

“Then either he or I would die here. And I am not in the mood to die yet.” she shrugged, making him raise a brow.

“The girl had seen the letter and by now they must have gone to complain about me already. Are you sure that you have already got my paper checked and mixed it in the result sheets.” she asked as she ran a hand on her face. His eyes pointed at the drops that left her skin. But it only made her skin flushed and her breathing. He looked away.

“Are you doubting my skills?” he snickered, “but if your plan failed Leonora, then you owe me enough to take your life. So you better be prepared for your strange plan. I am only here to warn you that my brother might leave for a party with his friends tonight. I want you to join him and see what he is doing there.” His voice grew cold and commanding but she only chuckled.

“You have more eyes on him.” she did not stretch the topic, “i have not met him yet but i am sure he would be coming to me by afternoon. I will get it done, no worries.” The way she accepted the challenge with confidence. He was lucky to stumble into this gem.

If trained well, she could be his biggest asset. The word moved his eyes back to her breasts that were heaving moments ago and he gulped.

“Now you must get going. Or you would not even be present for the execution of your plan.” he checked his watch that lit in the dark the moment censor caught his eyes, “you are late.I will drive you there.”
