Chapter 333: Bow Down

David stopped his car far away from home. No matter how panicked he was, he could not cross the long tide of reporters in his car. If they saw him, he would be a dead dog.

“You slut! Do you think you can hide in your house for your whole life? You will pay for your actions.”

“Going after the boyfriend of your best friend. Are you even human?” The curses were loud and someone even threw the stone on the door. David’s instinct told him to kill that person but for now, it would be better that he lay low.

He was sure that Nora had hired some spies on them. How else could she have so many videos? He needed to be rational for the time being.

He covered his face with a mask and wore the wig his secretary had brought for him. Only then did he dare to leave the car and mix in the crowd. He took the left path where the crowd was less and opened the backdoor of his house.

The moment the door opened, someone threw a vase on his face.

“Ouch!” he covered his bleeding forehead instantly. But another object came flying. David cursed. He wanted to dodge but closing the door was far more important. If the reporters heard the commotion, they would swarm here and then he would have no place to go.

By the time the door was closed, five things had already hit his back. He groaned in pain.

“Have you all gone crazy?” He pulled the wig and threw it on the ground. “Or are you taking advantage of the chaos and wanting to kill me?” Even if they could not recognize David in his oversized coat and monster mask, they knew his irritated roar very well.

Agatha let go of the tumbler and threw it on the sofa nearby. Her mistress would have killed her for this act on a normal occasion but the whole house was in a mess. Who cared about the tumbler.

“How did we know that is you!” Sophia glared at her husband as if she wanted to kill him. There was no hint of regret on her face when she saw his forehead bleeding. “You are not picking our calls or coming home. Do you know how scared we were when the crowd gathered in front of our house?”

Her eyes were bloodshot, and her hair was disheveled. In their long marriage he had never seen Sophia like this. For a second, he felt guilty.

“Dad!” Penny came running to him and hugged him as if he was the last anchor she could hold onto before drowning. “Dad! They are cursing me. They all want to kill me, dad! Woohoo! I am sorry for my past mistakes. Dad! Will you let me die?” she cries incessantly that her whole body started to quiver.

Her face was ashen and she looked sick. David’s chest felt heavy looking at her daughter. Though he had resented his wife a bit. But he had always treasured his daughter. Now looking at her state, he felt excruciating pain in his chest.

He patted her shoulders.

“How could that be, Penny! I will stop them. I already have a plan.” he rubbed her back while Penny looked at him with doubt as she bit her lips until it bled.

“But we have already contacted all the publishing houses. We even hired a water army to fight those malicious readers but nothing seems to be working. They all are just hellbent on hurting me. It must have been done by Nora.” her face turned ugly. How she wanted to kill her cousin even if she had to go to jail.

“Yes!” David sighed and helped his daughter by taking her to the sofa and asking Agatha to bring a glass of water. Even their housekeeper looked aghast and gaunt.

“So it is indeed her.” Sophia scowled. “If you know that, why don’t you ask that slut to stop it.” her whole body quivers with rage. She would not even let that slut die. It would be too easy for him. She would torment the girl to death until she begged for one.

David only sneered and glared at Sophia.

“If not for you, did she go so far? You must have tormented her enough that she had lost all her senses.” Sophia was dumbfounded by being accused suddenly. Her hands clenched into a tight fist!

“Torment! I will tell her what torment is! Bring her here.” hearing her commanding voice, David laughed.

“Ha! Do you think she is still the obedient girl who needed a home to live or she would be starved to death? She is protected by Spencers now. Even if we collect all our powers, we could not stand against them and in our present condition.. Forget it.” looking at the resignation on his face, Sophia’s heart fell.

“Did it mean that we let her run rampant and ruin us? I would rather kill her and go to jail for that.” David looked away. He was not going to argue with a crazy woman.

But Penny stared at him too when he stayed silent. Her teary eyes asked the same question until he sighed and sat beside her.

“I have gone to meet her. I threatened her, pleaded with her and even blackmailed her but Alric is personally protecting her. Even as her guardian I could not do anything. She has more videos with her. If we tried to force her, only god knew what she could do.” hearing the hatred and loathing in his voice, Sophia knew that the slut must have been cold and insulting.

“Then… what can we do?” Sophia walked closer. Her face looked haggard.

“Penny, go and rest in your room. Dad promised that everything would be fine when you wake up.” Penny cried and bit her lips. But even she felt that she could not bear it anymore. So she stood up and left.

“Go and check it. I think she had them.”
