“This is all I can offer, Nora.” David passed fifteen percent shares to make sure he still had shares equal to Benard to not lose his position.

Before Nora could hold the file, Sophia held the other side of it and stopped Nora from opening it.

“but not only you have to take the videos and messages down, but you have to apologize. Confirming that it was all a lie spread by you.” Sophia glared at Nora with a provoking gaze. This woman wanted to rob us. Very well! But Nora was not going to give up just like that.

Nora chucked looking at her agitated aunt, mocking her.

“Oh aunt, I am sure uncle has many men at his disposal to shift the blame. Why would I be the scapegoat for it?” she blinked innocently but her act only fumed her into flames. “And there is some misunderstanding. You do not have the right to negotiate in your condition.” Nora added more force and pulled the file.

Sohpia stumbled and hit her hand on the table. Only the pain brought her back from her trance. This girl! This kid was blackmailing them with such a cold gaze.

When did Nora change so much? She used to be so submissive. It all started when they called Benard at their house. Since then Nora had never been the same.

“That is alright.” David noticed Sophia’s darkening face and pulled her hand back.

Nora opened the file. The first page had the papers of a house in Autumn Street. It was highly coveted land and even a small apartment there would cost millions. And they have given her a large house there.” Nora chuckled as she turned the page.

It was the list of jewelry with the password of a bank locker. One after one rare properties and expensive gifts were added in the file. In the last two documents, shares were transferred by David and Sophia.

“I can not take Penny’s share. I still need to get her married. We have compensated more than enough Nora. do not stretch the matter after all we are one family.” Nora wanted to laugh. They were a family!?

“I always feel amazed when you say that after killing my parents. Were they not part of your so-called family uncle?” David flinched. His hands curled into a tight file while Sophia looked ashen.

Since Nora had not spoken about it even once, they still had a silver hope that it was done by maids. Sophia had even complained that they were giving Nora too much. But now..

“That is all a misunderstanding. It was not me. I only came to know about it and then blackmailed someone to help me, Nora. William was my brother. I loved him too much to hurt him.” David spoke in a sincere and trembling voice.

Even Alric laughed at that point humiliating them.

“I am not pursuing the matter yet. Lets hope you are speaking the truth or I promise that you will end up in jail for a long time.” her lips curled into a cold and vicious smile. Sophia stared at David with fear in her eyes. But David did not turn to look at her. His eyes did not leave Nora as if she had nothing to hide.

Only then did not Nora nod at Alric. Alric took out his phone and dialled a few numbers.

David watched, holding his breath as the news related to his family and videos were taken down one by one. His heart burns with hatred. Nora! She would pay for this. She could not live anymore.

“You have to give me the original copy and delete the rest too.” he warned only for her to raise a brow in amusement.

“The videos and news were in the top search for a long time. What made you think that gossip lovers had not made copies of it? I am sure all your competitors have many copies. Can you bring all of them down?” her hands traced the outline of documents with a mocking look on her face. “If I had been at your place, I would have been worried about my position in the next meeting.” David stood up with force. The chair was pushed back with a screeching sound by the force he had used.

Sophia stood up and followed David closely. But she could not help but steal another glance of Nora. all her features were the same, yet she felt like a complete stranger. Sophia’s chest tightened as if her possession had slipped away from her hands like sand.

“What now?” As soon as they sat in the car, Sophia cried. “We have lost most of her wealth to that wench. Except the house and a few shares..” she sniffled.

David held the steering wheel tightly until his knuckles turned white.

“Foolish woman! Are you worried about properties? What if she investigated her parent’s death?” he gritted his teeth and pressed the accelerator. No! Nora could not live anymore. He could not lose after coming this far,

“She needed to wait for only three more months. I would have gladly let her live more if she had not been this vicious. Now she could only curse herself.” he spat with venom as the car drove too fast.

Sohpia’s eyes widened.

“But she is protected by Alric. How could you…”

“Then we have to make sure that he leaves her first. You know what you needed to do.” he stopped the car at once only then did Sophia realize they were already in the office.

“Come attend the meeting with me as Penny’s guardian. We need to show them we have nothing to hide.” He walked out of the car only to pause at the door. There was a bentley parked near the entrance. That car looked familiar. His heart beat faster.

“She is in the meeting.” his words paused Sophia. “She would try to instigate you. But do not lose your composure no matter what happens! Sophia, one more mistake and I will kill you before her.”
