Penny flinched when it fell near her feet.

David did not care for her tantrums anymore. He left the room as soon as he was done. Penny gritted her teeth and picked up the script.

“Why did you agree to Chris Benard? You have given him all the shares. Did you not say you have saved some for Penny’s dowry. Now that the properties and shares are gone, what will we do?” her voice was full of choking emotions. David closed his eyes and pinched the space between his brows.

Sophia flinched and took a step back, biting her lips, she endured the humiliation but David was not done yet.

“I do not have millions to pay him. He had asked for the shares and in exchange, he would give me shares of his new company. It is an IT company with a better future. Sophia, we still have shares in the school and joint venture with “Illumination”. As long as the rumors die, I will start another company in your name. Could you handle the mess till then.” Sophia sighed. She knew David was doing his best. She nodded and only then did his face relax a bit.
