Chapter 34: Thinking About Her

Nora hesitated only for a second before nodding. As they drove to his car, she took out her mobile from the shorts and started reading something. Her ponytail was dropped on the other shoulder. Looking from one side, her face was exquisite. She was so concentrated that Alric did not speak a word. But he could not help stealing a few glances at her.

Everyone in this business world would beg for spending a second with her. Girls had always looked spellbound in his presence. Whether people know him or not, he has always attracted their attention. So meeting a person who was not interested was new to him.

His gaze fell on her elegant neck this time. He stared for a few seconds before gulping and looking away.

“If you think that I am going to fail, then you should not have hired me in the first place.” Alric closed his eyes. He did not know how to reply to that question.

He was not looking at her because he was afraid that she would fail. Then why? Why was he looking at her?

He was not a pedophile. He had dated a few girls and all of them were around his age or older. He had always been interested in matured women because they did not throw tantrums.

The car stopped one lane before her school.

“Do not act obvious if he will approach you.” he warned her when she opened the door to leave.

“Do not come here next time, I have left my number and email details for you. I have even left the name of a few places where we can meet without being seen. But this was too dangerous.” She warned him coldly and closed the door.

“…” he stared at the closed door for a second before laughing. The chuckle felt strange in the closed car. He took out his phone and saw that the girl had typed a long message for him.

“Ha!” He turned the car and sped away. It only took him an hour to reach his destination.

He did not go to the hospital which was also his home. But he went to a club.

He opened the door of his car when his phone started to ring. His face fell when he read the name and it took him a few seconds to pick up the name.

“Yes, mom, I am already there.” with that he cut the call.

He entered the luxurious cafe booked for special events. Though it was just a cafe, the entry here was only limited for its members and their guests because this was an information hub through gossip.

Eyes watch you all the time here. And this was the place where he had to meet her! Fuck! He cursed in his heart.

“You have done this intentionally.” he opened the room that was always booked on his name.

A girl around twenty five years of age was sitting near the window. Her beauty was to behold. With her curvy figure and big breasts, she could compete with models. And her innocent face with animated eyes, long nose, and pointed chin was no less than any famous actress. The way she was sitting was elegant too. One would wait to meet this kind of woman, but Alric looked exhausted already.

He dragged himself inside and closed the door. The woman finally heard the sound and smiled at him.

“You are finally here. I thought you were forcing me to wait intentionally.” the girl pouted softly as she tucked a strand of her hair behind her ears.

Alric paused for a second before taking his seat.

“Amaya, you think too much. I have work.” The young woman did not mind the scolding tone. She sighed and stared at him.

“We used to be good friends before I left for my studies. You must have made so many new friends that you do not need me anymore. But for me, you are the only friend. I only need some time to adjust back. Then I will not disturb you anymore. Your mother had already told me that you are hardly managing the hospital yourself. Your competent staff do all the work there.” She poured her complaints in an aggrieved voice while he.. He stared at her moving lips for a second and then his gaze moved to her elegant neck.

Amaya noticed the gaze and stilled. Her pulse raced in her chest and she felt giddy.

He stared at her just the way his eyes had fallen on Nora. A frown slowly started to appear on his face making her nervous.

“What… What happened?” she asked worriedly when he looked away. She looked down and noticed that she was wearing a round neck full sleeves dress. Should she have chosen a bit more revealing dress?

She had thought that he liked this elegant look? Confused, she could only look at him for guidance. She was willing to change for him.

“Nothing. I was thinking about something else.” while looking at her? Her brows furrowed and then her eyes looked at him sharply.

“Do you already have a girlfriend?” the words left her mouth before she could control them. She bit her lips and looked more aggrieved than before. “Even if you have one, do you need to ignore your friends because of that? I thought we had known each other for a long time. Our family had been close too.”

“What made you think that I have a girlfriend?” as if he did not hear her other complaints and had just come out of his confusion. She paused at once and then her lips arced into a smile.

“Why? You were.. Were you not thinking about someone when you were looking at me? Who else could it be if not a woman.”
