Chapter 345: One Has To Die

“Nora! I have called you so many times. How can you block my number?” Nora frowned and was about to cut it when Penny shouted. “Please do not cut the call. Today is my birthday.”

The soft pleading made Nora laugh.

“What does it have to do with me?” Penny tensed on the other side. She had tried everything but she could not reach Nora. They did not let her enter the hospital.

Nora had blocked her parents too.

“We are still sisters! You have ruined us yet we can not help but worry about you. It is my eighteenth birthday and I want to celebrate it with my family.” Penny sniffled in between. Her voice was full of pain. “I have bought this new number to only call you, Nora. Please meet me just once.”

“It could not be as simple as your birthday. What do you want, Penny?” The voice was so sharp that Penny held her phone tightly. Her eyes filled with hatred and desire to kill.

“My image had hit rock bottom. Mom had decided to send me to states but we are struggling for funds. If you can help us.” she whispered but Nora frowned. She had just read their report. Forget about one, they still could buy a few properties on her name if they wanted.

“That is it! For old time sake, I will buy you an apartment there. Anything else?” Penny panicked. If Nora did not visit her. She would never be able to take her revenge.

“So you would not meet me no matter what happens. Are you afraid that I will hurt you?” Penny laughed miserably. “Then how about I come to meet you and offer you a drink. As long as you accept it.”

“Beep beep beep.” The call was cut just like that. Penny gritted her teeth. Her knuckles turned while she held the phone tightly. Nora! Do you think you can save yourself like this! Ha! She stared at Ethan standing in front of her. “What now!”

Ethan pressed his lips. He had tried to infiltrate too. But Nora did not leave the house without security. It would be hard to reach her. He knew the plan was impossible from the start. But his obsession for Penny had forced him to take the risk.

“Is it necessary for you to be there? I can still plan an accident.” Penny frowned. This should be her last resort. But she wanted to see Nora struggling with her own eyes. She wanted to see Nora beg for life. And suffer the pain.

“No! I want to be there. I want to give her poison myself.” Ethan frowned.

“You have to work as a waitress then.” Ethan spoke impatiently when he noticed her displeasure. “You are going to leave for the state in five days. We do not have much time. I have confirmed that she was going to meet an actor in the FineDine restaurant. I will arrange someone to swap their position with you under the pretense of a fan.” he offered only for her to grit her teeth.

“Today is my birthday. And you want me to serve her as her maid. Ha! You are something.” Ethan frowned.

“Look penny, you do not have many choices. Either it is an accident or you are serving her as a waitress. Did you not say you want to serve her the poison anyway?” His voice was laced with impatience that made her frown. She wanted to scold him when he added,

“It is your choice. If you do not choose anything, I will simply take you since I have helped you already.” he shrugged as he looked at her with eyes full of desire. Penny shrunk under his gaze. She wanted to hide somewhere. But the closed space did not give her this liberty.

Her father did not remember it was her birthday. He did not return home for two days. Her mother had only wished her and left. She did not even bring a gift or asked about a party. She knew they did not care about her anymore. And it was all because of Nora.

They have given a family to Nora. yet Nora destroyed them. The girl was ingrate, she is a sinner who deserved to die.

“Penny!”

“Fine! I will be the waitress.” Penny announced with hatred in her voice. “I will do anything to ruin that girl.” she trembled with rage only for Ethan to smirk.

His eyes were on her dress already for a long time.

“Hmm, it would be difficult but not impossible. But for such hard work, should I not get an advance payment?” he smirked looking at her.

Penny took a step back instinctively. Her back hit the wall. She knew she had nowhere to run to.

“How about a kiss then?” she offered knowing it was inevitable. He stared at her like a hungry wolf.

“More than that. But I promise I will not take your virginity.. Yet!” Penny did not know whether she should feel fear or relief as he leaned to kiss her.

At least, Ethan was handsome. She closed her eyes and gave in when his lips covered hers.

“That phone call was very suspicious. Nora, you should not go out today.” Emma warned Nora. “I am sure you have noticed a few men following you recently. Your family is planning something.” Nora laughed. It would be strange if they did not plan anything against her.

She just did not understand why they were hurrying. It is still two months until she is an adult. If she died before, all her properties would end up in a trust. They have waited for so long. Why hurry now?

“Or they did not even know Penny wants to meet me?” Emma frowned, skeptical about the idea but Nora only smiled.

“Give me today’s schedule.” her eyes scanned the document and paused suddenly.

“Call my aunt. Tell her that I want to send a gift for Penny.”
