“Penelope Stone, the famous girl from the Stone family…” Nora scrolled the news with a smirk on her face.

“No one could find David stone. It is believed that he fled from the scene afraid that he would be arrested too.”

“It is speculated that David Stone had killed his own brother in the past to get his company. The betrayal runs in their blood.” whether it was television or newspapers. The Stone family was everywhere.

Alric walked with two cups of coffee in his hand. He passed one to Nora. he had thought she would be joyous or at least relieved after reading the news but her silence was gnawing at his chest now.

Nora smiled and took a cup of coffee from him. He watched the news until she turned to look at him. Their eyes met and he noticed the strange fear again. It unsettled him too.

“Did you find my uncle?” Alric shook his head.

“My men are looking. He would be found soon. He had so many properties on his name. The school is already complaining and so at the blue corn company. If he did not return, he would be doomed.” Alric’s comment only put her more at unease.

Her uncle had killed his family just to secure this wealth. How could he disappear when he needed to save it again? He was not the one to give up.

“School will start tomorrow.” Nora shook her head. Maybe she was just overthinking. His family had died. He must be scared or perhaps he will be looking for a lawyer for Penny and wants to hide from the reporters.

“Can you not be a day boarder?” Alric frowned. Only then did he notice Nora had packed her luggage. It had only been a week, yet he was so used to watching her face in the morning. Humming songs and making breakfast.

Or how she watered the plants. He knew that it was her way of coping with the shock.

“It is not safe yet. You can not go.” he announced only for her to raise a brow.

“Emma follows me like a shadow. What is there to fear? Did you not say your men are lookin for my uncle too? Or are you doubting your own skills?” Alric grumbled at once. He pointed at the plants and looked at her with accusation.

“Who will take care of the plants you have brought?” Nora paused to look at him. He sounded like a sulking child whose favorite toy was taken away.

Noticing her gaze, he felt uneasy. Even though he knew he was being childish, he could not help it.

“Victor would be there.” he grumbled as he sat on the chair. Nora raised a brow waiting for him to explain but he only frowned.

“And…” Alric opened his mouth and closed it. Kissing her was like breathing. They did not do oral again but they kissed and hugged each other all the time.

Just holding her and sitting on the sofa while they both read their own files felt so warm, so complete that he did not ask for anything else.

“Nora!”

“Alric!” he sighed and looked away. Nora’s face softened.

“I will return home in a week. And I am just a call away. If you miss me, you can come to school to meet me. But you know that I need to be at school right?” Alric did not reply. His mind started racing.

“Yes, I can come to school to meet you.” he smiled suddenly. Nora blinked. She had thought it would be difficult to convince him. Who would have thought.. Yet she could not shake the strange feeling.

“About the entertainment company. Every actor poached by you had signed a new contract with Spencer group. Even Mr Spencer had shown his rare interest and hired them for the advertisement of his latest jewelry collection and watches exhibition.” Nora smiled.

She knew the companies they have worked for. She had hired a manager and provided him with the list to contact those companies first. But Alric had been a good support all this time. If not for him, she would have achieved so much in such a short time.

“Thank you! Then the Bright Light company must be suffering already?!” looking at her bright eyes, Alric nodded with a thrill.

“Not only that, the Blue Corn company suffered a huge blow when the customers refused to take the compensation. They have even recorded the meeting and posted it online. With comments like the company was bribing them and trying to buy them.

The government has decided to cancel their licence. The company is gone for good.” Nora remembered how the company had become the first international company receiving orders from more than thirty countries.

It was the backbone of Benard’s business and now it is gone just like that. She had not seen Benard in her company again after that day. Alric had made sure that the man was busy enough to follow Nora.

“Thank you again.” Alric raised an innocent brow but Nora knew. It was not possible without him. From damaging the product to hyping the matter. Sending false customers and his men playing behind the scenes, the company had not even suffered a minor loss if she had executed the plan. “I could have done nothing without you. You have…” Nora paused when his phone rang. She knew this ringtone was reserved for Ava.

Alric took his phone and cut the call.

“If you are truly grateful, prove it with your actions. There are only sixty five days left.” Alric winked at Nora, making her blush.

Only when her face was red did he leave the room with a chuckle.
