Chapter 354: His Fiance!

Nora watched in daze as Alric ate the food she had chosen. She had chosen food he did not like to spite him. But watching him eating so happily made her conscience prick.

“Why are you not eating? Here, try this! This is delicious.” He passed the only meat on his plate to her. Nora did not know whether to laugh or cry.

“How about we go and eat out. There is a good restaurant.” but Alric shook his head. He picked up the meat and brought it to her lips.

Heat rose to her cheeks again. She blushed but opened her mouth slowly. Alric fed him with hearts in his eyes. He looked like a man in love.

“You.. you have so much work. How will you continue to come here?” When he did not reply, she continued, “Emma is here to protect me. You should not make your work suffer.”

“She will only protect you from danger. She will not protect me!” Nora frowned.

“Don’t you have other bodyguards. If not, you can take her too. I do not need one in the first place.” Alric sighed! He was not worried about her safety. He was worried about his position. What if there were more competitors? What if.. He would sit here and guard what belonged to him.

“There is no important lecture left. Shall we go to your new company? The staff needs an introduction.” Nora nodded at once. Going to company and handler work was much easier than Staying in school and letting Alric show his affections.”

He knew what she thought. His eyes dimmed a bit but he did not say a word. He held her hand and guided to his car.

“Have you decided where you will continue your study?” Nora nodded. She stared at the fading school building making him frown.

“Though David is missing, the building and properties still belong to him. And…” victor took a deep breath. “I was not intending to inform you but the hospital had called you many times. There is no one to claim Sophia’s body. Penny is still in confinement. Her case would start tomorrow and no one could find Victor. If you do not claim the body, the police will accept Penny’s bail and..”

“Let her collect it.” Alric frowned. “It is her right as their only child.” Alric scoffed at her words.

“She had killed her own mother just because she wanted to kill you. What kind of rights do girls have? I am sure she did not care about her mother’s body. She is only using this as a chance to get free. Nora, there is no guarantee that she did not have another plan under her sleeves.” the more he thought about it, the more he felt uneasy.

Penny was a crazy girl from the start. Now that she had lost everything, she had only become crazier.

But there was no worry on her face. She had that rare sly smile on her face which made him dumbfounded.

“You…”

“I have it all planned. More than that, I do not want to bury my aunt. I could not bring myself to pray for her peace. Even when she is dead…” Nora looked away. Alric did not know what they did to her, he would not understand and feel she was vicious just like victor. But.. she.. Nora paused when she felt his warm hands wrapped around her shoulders.

“I can make the body disappear if you want.” The look of pure trust and indulgence on his face made her shoulders slump.

She did not realize she was tensed that he would judge her. For some reason, her heart felt better. And she felt happy.

“I will handle it. You do not need to worry.” she promised but he shook his head.

“There is no way that I would not worry. But if you do not need my help, I will stand behind you in support. Even if you burn the world, I will handle it.” Nora watched his sincere face.

“What if it destroys you in the process?” Alric only laughed as if her words made no sense.

“How could a destroyed soul be hurt again? Since you are here..” she did not let him continue. Her lips covered his before he could speak.

Alric pressed the button and the divider blocked their image from the driver.

He tightened his grip on her back, pulling him closer. He wanted to replace Victor’s touch, his presence from her body, her life.

Alric only let him go when the car stopped. He looked at the building with a dark gaze. Nora shook her head and pecked his cheek. She adjusted her dress and opened the door for herself.

“I will meet you in the evening.” she walked out but frowned when Alric followed him.

“Are you coming with me?”

“I have some papers to sign before the company is fully transferred to you since I am acting as your guardian now.” Nora sighed.

“Two more months!” her dim voice made him chuckle.

“Then I will not be your guardian anymore. I will be your husband.” Nora blushed at that. For some reason, the man was becoming more and more childish.

Joe was waiting for Alric when they reached the door. With a sense of urgency he walked toward Alric and whispered something with a pleading gaze. Alric frowned at him.

“It is alright. Go on and finish it first. It will take me sometime too.” Alric looked reluctant but Joe did not stop staring at him. In the end, he sighed and returned to the car.

Nora smiled softly. It felt strange to be treasured. All the staff was collected near the door since they were informed about the arrival of their new boss.

When Nora entered, they assumed that she was here to apply for a job.

“Hey! Can you come tomorrow? We are all busy today.” a woman pushed Nora away as she went to bring a rose bouquet.

“Or you can just give it up. You are not cut to be a model.”
