Chapter 356: Only One Owner

“I have news for you!” someone entered the room. Maddy threw a script toward Nora before walking out. Nora started reading but her ears strained.

“Yes, I have confirmed. Charlie is leaving the show because of his messy affair, if we poach carefully, the role could land to our team. But we do not have a b grade actor. What if we got the role but no one agreed to perform it.” The girl looked worried and Maddy nodded.

“We should discuss it with Debra. She is the woman chosen by the boss after all.” They both left the room.

Nora watched them leaving and then looked at the playing group again. She closed the file and went to the group.

“Hey! Can I play too?” a girl scanned Nora and then looked away. Others did not even hear her.

Nora ignored their sneer and sat down making them frown.

“Who are you, a pest?” the girl hissed. “Lena!”

“It’s alright Prudence! I will handle her.” The girl named Lena pulled Nora out.

“They are top celebrities. It is one thing that you want an autograph, but you can not sit with them and play cards.”

“Do they not have shows to perform?” Len felt irritated at once. She glared at Nora.

“What does it have to do with you? One word from them and you would be fired. So watch your mouth.” Nora nodded with a frown. Lena left gritting her teeth.

“Prudence, you should go and meet our new boss before Debra reaches there and fills his ears. You know what I meant.” Prudence raised a brow with a smirk on her face.

“Do you have any idea how much that man paid for me? He would call me himself. Why shall I take the initiative?” she laughed and others followed.

Lena still looked unsure but she knew better than to ask twice.

Nora finally smiled and entered Alric’s room. Maddy frowned when she watched Nora going in without knocking. She was about to stop the foolish girl but she had already entered.

“Go and call Debra! She would be scolded if the girl created trouble.” but as Maddy waited for Nora to be thrown out. The room was eerily quiet as if the boss was waiting for her.

The thought stunned her and she walked closer. She watched Nora sitting and smiling with the boss. Could it be that their boss had thought it was their arrangement?

Nora noticed her gaze and turned to look at Maddy. Maddey felt embarrassed for peeking into the room.

Nora laughed and waved her hands as if dismissing maddy. Maddy’s cheeks burnt and she ran away.

“What was all that?” Alric frowned and closed the file in front of him. “I never agreed that I will handle all your work. Have i?”

“Oh!” Nora chuckled. “And here I thought you would do anything for me.” she paused when she realized the meaning of her own words.

Alric blinked and then a smirk appeared on his lips.

“Ah! If that is the case, I will do as you say.” His smile suggested something that made her blush. Nora looked away. She pulled the file toward her and read it.

“So did you find what you were looking for?” Nora looked at him with surprise. She had not told him anything yet he knew her thoughts. Like always, he understood her best.

Nora nodded. “I have looked enough! I am ready for the meeting.” Alric nodded, getting her meaning.

“Then I will ask them to collect it in the meeting room.” He had hardly pressed the bell and Maddy came with an uneasy face. She glared at Nora.

“Sir, I can explain this. She is not a permanent staff member here. She had just come this morning. And..”

“Ask all the staff members to collect in the meeting room. I will start a meeting in half an hour.” Alric cut her in a harsh tone and asked her to leave with his curt words.

Maddy was stunned and looked at Nora again. The girl was leaning on the sofa leisurely and smiling as if the office belonged to her.

An ominous feeling filled Maddy’s heart as she left the room. She called Debra and informed her.

“It is alright, go and collect the members. We will see what this is about.” Maddy personally went to speak about it with the leisure group.

She looked at Prudence with curiosity as she explained the details. Hadn’t Prudence said that she already knew the boss and had a special relationship with him.

“Is that all? Why are you making it such a big deal? It is only normal for the boss to call everyone for a meeting.” she stood up with a snort. All the other celebrities followed her out of the room.

Maddy frowned.

“He was sitting with that new girl.” she added but Prudence only rolled her eyes and left.

Soon everyone was gathered in the meeting room. Nora was the last to arrive. If it had been before, Maddy would have scolded her already. But now, she only looked at Nora with uneasy eyes.

Ten more minutes passed but Alric did not come. But the staff was more surprised when they saw Nora sitting on the seat of the head.

“What is the meaning of this?” prudence stood up to complain.

Many looked at Nora with confusion. Maddy’s face went ashen. She had treated the girl badly. She had even gossiped about others in front of her.

Could it be that Alric was her sugar baby? He had sent her to keep an eye on them. Or the foolish girl wanted to act like a boss. No matter how she saw Nora, it was not going to end well.

Nora raised a brow at Prudence with a bemused look.

“Why? Did you not claim that you already know me? Why are you showing ignorance now?” Prudence glared at the girl with a haughty look.

“What nonsense are you spoiuting? When have i said that i know you. I only know the owner of the company and that is..”
