“Everyone was looking at you entranced. I should not have let you conduct the meeting.” His voice was full of grievances. Nora shook her head. Who would have thought a cold and curt person like Alric can praise someone like this.

As they walked in the corridor, the staff bowed respectfully toward them. This respect was not only directed to Alric this time. They looked at Nora with sincerity.

“You are exaggerating. They were only staring at me because they still could not accept me as the biggest stakeholder in the company.” she abused and then looked at him earnestly. “It all happened because of you. If not for you taking my guardianship, I would have never achieved anything. Everyone would have gone to my uncle.” he rubbed her arms until she smiled again.

“They will find him soon. But right now, you must go there.” Nora nodded and took a deep breath.

She had waited for this moment for a long time. As she sat in the car, flashes of the past passed in front of her eyes. How much had she suffered in her past life. How she was treated worse than the maid, how she was forced to watch her own husband with other women.

How they have killed her and her daughter! Her daughter.. Would she ever be able to meet her again?

“Nora!” Nora felt his arms pulling her in a tight embrace. Only then did she notice that she was shivering and crying.

“Shush! Everything is fine! They will never be able to hurt you again.” he kissed her head and she closed her eyes. Not forcing herself to accept that she is fine.

When the car stopped in front of the hospital, the tears were gone. The vulnerable girl was gone. When Nora came out, her face had a cold and haughty look.

He guided her to the administration room where Penny was arguing with the staff.

“What do you mean you can not hand over my mother to me. It had been weeks since she had died. She deserves a burial ritual and ceremony. She is not an orphan who will rot here.” her voice was high enough to bring a lot of attention.

The man gritted his teeth. He did not want to deal with an eccentric girl like Penny.

“You are underage! Even if I ignore that, you are in jail for killing your mother. Do you really want to show your filial piety now?” Penny glared at the man.

“This is just a conspiracy against me by my sister. She is..”Penny paused when she saw Nora walking toward them.

She was wearing a beautiful business suit with her hair perfectly tied in a bun. A small tendril falling over her face gave her a young but beautiful look.

Nora had stolen her life from her. Nora should be the suffering one since she did not have parents. Where was her dad? Why did he not come to save her?

“I am the niece of Sophia Stone. I am here to claim her body for burial rites.” Nora had an elegant look and polite voice. The man felt better instantly and smiled at her.

“Mam! If you can fill this form and submit the papers, I will gladly finish the formalities.” At last, he did not need to deal with an eccentric like Penny then.

Penny scowled at the man at once with disgust.

“You! I am her daughter yet you did not give me the possession and now you want to give it to her killer. I am still eighteen while Nora is still a minor. Do you have any conscience? Who let you work here? I want to meet your head.” Penn slammed the table hard. The constable waiting for her outside heard the commotion and entered in.

“What is happening here?” his loud voice made Penny shrunk instantly. Her face went pale. Nora raised the brow with a smile. She turned to the policemen.

“Ah! It is nothing much. The hospital had some rules, since Penny is in jail they are not giving her custody or her mother’s body. But she wants it so badly that she is threatening the law. Can you help us in this case?” Penny had already shrunk. She was holding the table for her blalace.

When the man turned to look at her, she low4ed her head and tried to hide behind Nora. The singer cowering in fear and trying to hide her presence gave strange pleasure to Nora.

Her lips curled.

“Penny, I am sure they will help you. Why don’t you explain yourself.” The man watched her with disgust but Penny only bit her lips. She did not speak a single word, looking ashen.

“Mam! We have some procedures. We can not let her do it.” The man spoke when the policemen kept staring at Penny without saying anything.

“Aah. that!?” Nora looked conflicted. “I only came because I was told there was no one to take her body. But I did not want to take Nora’s rights. How about I take the body and then we bury her together?” with the warmth of a family, Nora spoke in a tender and loving voice.

But it was nothing but mockery in Penny’s ears. Her face went red and she glared at Nora.

“You! What right do you have!” Penny pointed at Nora ready to fight when the man came closer and held her hand with pressure. Her face paled and her eyes widened.

“Penny! Are you forgetting that you are a criminal now?” the man scoffed and then looked at Nora,

“Thank you! It is a perfect solution. Since Miss Penny could not leave the jail for a long time, we will follow your arrangement.”
