Chapter 361: A Simple Exchange

“Congratulations on earning all the properties back!” Principal Kai stood up from his seat and welcomed Nora like an esteemed guest making her chuckle.

“Technically all the properties belong to Alric now since he is working as my guardian.” Nora took the seat and only then did Principal Kai sit down.

It had only been a year, yet Nora looked completely different. He did not have any impression of Nora before she walked into her office and challenged that she would handle everything that night.

“It has been a long journey, I am sure you will get those properties in just two months. And Mr Spencer is a dependable person despite his cold and indifferent attitude.” Nora smiled, she did not remember Alric being indifferent anymore.

He had been the most caring person she had ever seen.

“Did my uncle contact you?” Principal Kai sighed and shook his head. It had been days since David went missing and not a single day passed when she had not asked him this question. It left him uneasy.

“Why are you so sure that your uncle will contact me, Nora? We are not even acquaintances. Should he not call his friends or family instead?” he asked uneasily. He did not want to be contacted by that man at all.

“He did not have a family left. Penny is nothing but a burden for him. And he had not earned good friends. He must have a few underlinings. But without his wealth, they would not care about him.

The biggest property he held right now is this school. He would need help to sell shares. So that he had enough funds to run away. If he would contact shareholders, the news might spread. You are the perfect person for the job. Always submissive and easy to control. You remember what I have asked you, right?” Kai looked away embarrassed as she spoke in a nonchalant voice.

“Yes, I do remember everything, Miss Nora Stone. But are you sure you would give the shares to me in exchange.” Nora noticed how his grip tightened on the pen. She smiled reassuringly.

“Yes, as long as my uncle is arrested, I do not care about a few shares of this school. I will be waiting for the good news.” she stood up, “and about my classes?”

“Oh, do not worry, as long as you attend exams, we will not mark you short.” Nora nodded with appreciation before leaving the building.

Though she was not attending school, she had still prepared her projects. And went to submit them in the staff room where teachers complete their other duties.

Mr Summer was surprised to see her. He felt embarrassed yet happy that Nora returned.

“Miss Nora!” Nora was surprised by the respectful tone of her teacher.

Taken aback, she showed her projects. “I am sorry for coming to the staff room, sir. I am here to submit my projects.” the man sighed, feeling embarrassed.

As a teacher he had scolded many students and complained about them to their family, management and principal. But he had never apologized to anyone. It feels so strange.

“Miss Nora..” he stood up, surprising other teachers, “we have often believed Penelope Stone and blamed you for things you have not done. I apologize for my rudeness and lack of ability to differentiate between right and wrong.”

“….” the man stood up and slightly bowed his head. Looking at his sincere face, Nora felt something breaking in her chest.

“Sir!” She did not know what to say. But looking at him, a few teachers also stood up. Her science teacher, economics teacher and english teacher.

“We are wrong too. Please forgive us too.” they all bowed at once. Nora took a step back instinctively.

She did not even blame them. They only believe what they see! It was Penny and her family that pushed her into the black hole.

“Sir! You are my elder, how could I ever resent you. Please do not do this.” they all stood up, surprised that she had forgiven them so easily.

Now that she was in power, she could have fired a few of them. A few did not apologize because they felt remorse. They only followed Mr Summers so that they would not be blamed later. But looking at the worried girl, they felt guilt rising in their chest.

“You can put the projects there. We will distribute them later.” Mr SUmmers pointed at the table. Relieved, Nora placed all the projects there and returned a bow before leaving.

She felt much lighter after walking out of the office. Mr Summer’s smiled watching her leave.

A teacher who did not know Nora well walked toward Mr Summers with curiosity.

“I have never seen all of the senior teachers even apologizing to us, staff! Who was that girl? She forced even those old men to bow their heads.” the man stared at Nora’s leaving back incredulously.

“They have wronged the girl but we both know they did not care about it.” the teacher nodded at once, feeling the same.

“But they care about their jobs. Did you not hear about Spencer group’s new face?” looking at his confused face, Mr Summers laughed. “He gave a personal visit two days ago, requesting a teacher in the senior class for three days.

He is her fiance.” the man’s eyes widened. Two days ago, when he had come, he had seen those old teachers looking nervous and uneasy.

“You mean…” his eyes widened and Mr Summers laughed and nodded.

“Yes, he had warned everyone that they will not only lose their jobs if Nora will be wronged once again. I genuinely wanted to apologize to the girl, but they followed suit thinking it was my tactics.” he shrugged. “At least, the girl got her due apologies. She is going to bring a lot of fame to the school anyways.”

“Hmm, but I wonder if they felt any remorse! Wait! Is she not the niece of the shareholder we are protesting against?”

“Yes, she will solve it soon too.”
