Chapter 364: A Date

Alric was young when his father had brought him home. His mother was poor and could not handle his education and living. When she got sick she contacted his father and sent him away.

But he did not want to leave. She had heard stories about how he had run away multiple times. How he never liked his new house despite the luxury. It all stopped when his mother died.

That was his breaking point. She had heard stories from his staff and other people. Victor had told her a story too. But she had no idea how much truth there was in those stories. She held his hand tightly as they walked.

Alric’s fingertips seem to freeze for a second. After that, he held her hands tightly and pulled her closer. There were many couples walking hand in hand on the road. And they have already been too intimate in the closed rooms.

Yet for some reason, holding her hands like that and walking together in public brought a fluttering feeling. His lips curled into a proud smile and his mood improved a bit.

When he was in college, it was popular to hold the hands of your lover and walk here. But he had never been interested in love stories. Now, for some reason, he wanted to try all of those things.

Alric had heard about many shops here from his college friends. They walked only a bit when his eyes fell on a shop with a long line. A lot of boyfriends were buying bubble tea for their girlfriends.

“Would you like to have bubble tea?” Nora watched a crowded stall. One had to stand in line to get the drink.

“Alright, i will bring two glasses, which flavor do you like?” she asked with a smile but he looked at her bemused before walking and standing in line.

It was such a simple task. Many young boys were in line waiting for their turn. Yet, when Alric did it, it felt so different.

The girls giggled as she watched him standing there. A bold one even stood behind him to start a conversation with him.

Young men felt pressured just by his presence and adjusted his clothes instinctively. Girls were staring at him as if he was a piece of art.

Nora laughed looking at him. How a simple thing became completely different when he did it.

Alric stood there ignorant of the change he had brought. He only watched her waiting for him with a youthful grin on his face. His eyes had a strange spark today that she could not understand.

But a strange frown appeared on her lips when she noticed he was looking back at those girls. The girls are holding cups of tea with their mouths on the straws. They gave smiles to him and even winked as they took sips. Could it be that he found them prettier? After all, men could never settle on one. Her uncle had her mother in his mind even when he was married to her aunt for so long.

And Benard had so many women in his life. Victor still kissed Langdon when he had her. A strange uneasiness filled her chest and she could not sit still.

What she did not know was that Alric had never dated anyone before. This was his first time. He didn’t know what to do on dates, but he believed that he could do well if other men could do it. So he was closely watching their actions to mimic them with her.

Just when his turn was about to come, a warm hand held him. Taken aback he stared at Nora in confisun. But the girl only smiled sweetly at him. But she had never smiled sweetly before! He could see the sly look in her eyes.

“You forgot to ask me which flavor I like! I was afraid you would bring something I do not like. So I came.” Alric stared at her with curiosity. Nora never took the initiative to hold his hand.

Yet she was holding his arm and leaning on it as if she could not let go. He laughed softly, feeling warm inside.

Nora looked back at the girls trying to flirt with Alric. Her face had a provoking look and a large proud grin on her face. What everyone wanted belongs to hers now.

The girls were only teasing. But looking at her reaction, many laughed. A few also felt a hint of jealousy.

“So which one should I buy?” Nora was concentrating on the girls. When a warm breath touched her earlobes she shivered and looked at him in confusion.

Alric laughed and pinched her nose. The strange actions came so naturally that Nora stood there stunned.

“Didn’t you say you are here to help me in choosing bubble tea? Which flavor do you like?” his voice, his actions, everything felt so different that she kept staring at his face entrapped.

“Not able to choose?” He looked at her and then at the menu. “Should i get a cup of each flavor for you to try and decide which one would you like?” Although he was only teasing, Alric felt that his idea was quite good. He turned to do so.

“Excuse me! I would like to…”

“Strawberry and red bean bubble tea. Thank you.” Nora held her hands tightly and ordered instead. The shop owner blinked and then smiled at both of them before passing their drinks.

Afraid that he would continue to order, she held him and pulled away.

When he passed it to her, she said “thank you” with a smile. She took it with both of her hands and cradled it in front of her. She lowered her head to take a sip through the straw. The cold drink made her heart warm for some reason. Nora had never thought she could enjoy such simple gestures after dedicating her life for revenge.

Alric watched her drinking and a smile bloomed on his lips. “Is it good?”
