Chapter 369: If You Ever Have A Mistress!

When Alric returned the house was dark and cold. His eyes instinctively stopped at Nora’s door. The lights were off. She must have fallen asleep. Did she even notice if he was there or not!

He must have behaved like a jerk in her eyes. Feeling guilty, he walked to her door. But paused with his hand raised in the midair. What would he say to her if she opened the door!

“You have turned into a fool, Alric.” Alric shook his head and returned to his room. But when he opened the door, he froze at the entrance.

His dim eyes brightened suddenly. The room which had always been cold and empty felt warm just by Nora sleeping on his bed.

She was sleeping at a strange angle. Perhaps she was waiting for him to return and slept.

His eyes softened. He walked closer to the bed and stared at her. She had not even worn a blanket.

Shaking his head, he covered her with a blanket and then tucked her hair behind her ears.

Nora tossed on the other side muttering something under her sleep.

Alric hesitated and went to wash himself up. He changed his clothes and returned to his room. The bed was large enough for them to sleep together. They have already shared many intimate moments together. It would not matter if he slept beside her. Right?

But she was sleeping! She had not consented to sleep with him. What if she understood later? He paused holding the other corner of the duvet in his hands.

But she was sleeping in his bed. She must have expected that he would sleep there. If she had minded, she would have waited in the hall or dining room.

He felt conflict as he looked at her serene face.

“Nora! You would be the death of me.”

Nora rubbed her cheeks on the soft bed. It felt softer and warmer for some reason. She yawned and opened her eyes only to see that she was not in her room. With a start, she sat up on the bed and looked around only to remember that she had come to Alric’s room last night.

Since the hall was cold, she had decided to wait for him here. She looked around but she was the only one in the room. And it did not look like someone had used the other side.

“Did he not return for the whole night?” a strange uneasiness filled her chest and she stood up at once. But she had just reached the door when she paused.

In the dark room, she had not noticed earlier. But a large figure was huddled up on the small sofa. It looked strange to see him sleeping on the sofa when there were many empty rooms in the house.

As if sensing her gaze even in his sleep, Alric opened his eyes and stared back at her.

“Good morning.” her raspy and sleepy voice sounded seductive. Alric watched her with dark eyes. “Why are you sleeping on the sofa?” she walked closer when he sat on the sofa.

She sat beside him and looked at her with worry. “This is my room, Nora.” he stood up but she held his wrist and pulled him back on the sofa. No more half conversations!

“Yes, so sleep on your bed. Why are you sleeping on the sofa?” she asked again, making him frown.

“You were sleeping there.” he explained, making her bemused.

“And..”

“And..” he shifted. It was not like he had forced himself on her in her sleep. Then why did he hesitate last night? He felt uneasiness in his chest”

“Alric! We are going to get married sooner or later. My body is not something I wish to protect. I..” he covered her mouth with his hands while staring intently in her eyes. The look made her shiver.

“I desire to protect you. I desire to protect my first marriage. Nora… you should leave.” he pushed her softly but Nora did not leave.

“I am not interested in you at first.” it was the first time she had accepted it aloud. His eyes narrowed with a dangerous glint in them but Nora braced herself. It took a lot of courage to accept it. “I want your second, third, fourth and the last. I do not want you to share after giving my first to you.” ALric frowned looking at her accusing face.

Did he ever say that he would be with someone after having her.

“I know it is easy for a man to find girls even when they are married. With your position and wealth, i am sure girls would buzz around you .even ready to take the position of the mistress. But I do not want to share it with my man. So, if you want to marry me, you have to give me all of you, not only your first or second.” it might be the darkness or the early morning exhaustion. But for some reason, her voice felt domineering to his ears.

His lips curled and he laughed suddenly making Nora blink. She frowned at once at his lack of sincerity.

“I am serious here, Alric! I will never let you have an extramarital affair. I will kill both of you if you ever have a mistress. Think about it! If you do not accept this condition..”

“You will not marry me?” Alric asked between his laughter. Nora bit her lips. The marriage was set in stone. She had already taken her side of the deal. How much of his wealth had she spent? He must have used underhanded means to get her guardianship. How could she refuse now that she was going to be an adult.

“Are you planning to use me and then discard me by making these strange excuses nora?” Suddenly the man was upon her. She did not even see him moving. He held her hands tightly and pinned her hard. “Do you think I will let you go now just because you want to?”
