Chapter 377: She Was Hopeless!

“He left!” The words felt like lead. How and why did he leave her here? Did he not trust her? Was he sure that she would accept his father’s offer? Nora felt awful. She wanted to scream and scold him.

Did he think she was nothing but an opportunist? How in the world was she going to confess to him when he thought so low of her. Her eyes turned misy instantly. Wait a minute! She was going to confess to him? Her own thoughts left her dumbfounded when the secretary added.

“He might have gone to the restroom. It is also in that direction.” the secretary looked away awkwardly when Nora glared at him as if she had intentionally hid this important part.

“What happened? Are you done?” before she could glare enough at the secretary. A deep manly sound filled her ears and then a warm hand touched her shoulders. Nora did not realize she was shivering until his hand touched her body.

Her eyes, barely holding tears, gave up.

Alric frowned when he noticed Nora was crying. The girl hardly cries. Even he could not move her emotions like that. Fury filled his chest instantly and he glared at the secretariat menacingly.

The secretary shrunk her presence. What did she do? She had pointed at the direction where he went. How was she supposed to know the reason for his leaving?

“Did my father say something to you?” The more he thinks about it, the more it seems possible. Why else would she cry suddenly.

“Nora, you do not need to take him seriously. Even if he asked me to leave you or tried to hurt you I will deal with it. What did he even ask you in return?” as if a dam had been broken, Nora leaned on him and hugged him tightly.

Alric froze at his spot. They have been so intimate and he has known Nora for a long time. But he had never seen her crying like that. As if she was breaking apart.

He hugged her back and rubbed her back, shoulders, trying to soothe her mood.

“Nora! Everything would be alright. I will..”

“Why did you leave me alone?” she cut him before he could promise further. Her eyes full of tears glared at him with an aggrieved look.

“… when did I leave you?” taken aback by her furious glare, Alric blinked in confusion.

“You were not here when I came out? You do not trust me at all.” she pushed him away but frowned further when he let her go easily.

“I only went to the restroom.” he spoke softly, not sure why she was reacting so strongly. Nora wiped her tears. She had already guessed this much.

But why.. Why was she feeling this awful? Even if he had left, she would have met him later and explained to him. Why was she so horrified when she did not find him?

Alric watched her closely. He did not understand what happened. But she looked worried so he offered her his hand again.

“Come, if you are done. Let us leave. We can talk about it later. Ok?” he could see how secretaries were staring at them. He knew every word spoke here would reach his father’s ears.

Nora shook her head again.

“Alric! From the start I have been using you. Not only you but Victor! I have been using him too. For me, nothing was more important than my revenge. My hatred had consumed me whole to the limit that I did not even feel my life was important.

Even if I have to hurt myself to defame them, I never cared and only took it as an opportunity.” Alric could feel her pain, her heartbreak. He walked closer trying to hug him again but she pushed him a bit.

She shook her head telling him she did not want to be held. Alric sighed, looking helpless.

“Nora, how about we go home and talk there!” He offered her again but Nora only watched his face. Looking at his worried eyes, his confused gaze and his helpless hands extended in the mid air, she knew she was putting him in the tight spot.

But she wanted his father to know it too.

“But you have helped me even when I was dating Victor. You cared for Alex even when Alex only hated you. You cared for Ava even when she was the reason your mother could never be part of the family. You cared for a girl like me who was selfish and greedy.

Alric, a man like you deserves someone much better.” how had she kept her paths away from him. Sure that he was a bad person. How foolish, judgemental and selfish she was!

He had saved her from that hell house but she only thanked Max! He had saved her many times but she named it only a transaction.

All the staff looked at her with a pale face. Who was Mr Spencer? Even the president could not challenge him. But a girl was challenging him in his own office?
