Chapter 379: Take Him Down

“He just wants to give his business to you so that you run it and inherit it one day?” Nora frowned. It sounds like a good deal instead. “But why does it matter? If you do not want to take it, he could give it to Alex too.” wasn’t Alex his legitimate son?

Isn’t legitimacy matters a lot in the business field.

“He did not trust Alex could handle it. His business is like his life. It must have pained him to choose me! To choose Alx, he would.. Forget it.” Alric shook his head and stopped the car.

Nora frowned and looked around. She was surprised to see that the car stopped in front of a resort.

“This..”

“My father is a vindictive person. He never let go of a favor someone did to him. Since you have created such a scene in his office, he would send someone to create a ruckus in the hospital and your company if we went there. It will be better if he gives him time to cool down. This place would be good for relaxing. We both need a break.” Although Alric did not blame her, Nora felt awful.

She had always been reasonable, thinking everything from her mind. How could she be a fool now.

“I am sorry.” he whispered in a low voice. Her eyes downcasted. She looked so vulnerable. Alric started at her entrance and then sighed.

“You do not need to be sorry. I should apologize, I never noticed how much you are enduring. How many emotions were hidden in your small heart and how much you have suffered. It was bound to explode sooner or later. But I am happy that it happened!” he smiled softly as he pulled her on his lap.

Nora was confused. He was happy about her outburst? Why? He cupped her cheeks and forced her to look into his eyes.

“At least I know that you love me now.” Nora’s eyes widened. His eyes stirred and the intensity and she could feel her own skin burning.

His eyes were piercing as if she was leaning bare on him.

“I was always worried that you would be tied up in a loveless marriage. What if your life became like Ava. But now that I have confirmed that you love me, I can happily have kids with you. I want a boy and a girl. What about you?” Nora blinked. As if her mind had short circuited.

His words were falling in her ears. But she could not understand them. A boy and a girl! They are not even married! They did not have sex! She was not even an adult. She was herself a child. How could she plan a child?

Her face turned redder and redder as she thought about it.

“Alric!”

“Yeah…” his voice was so deep, full of intensity that just a word left her shivering.

“You.. I am just a kid myself.” he looked at her face intently. His scorching eyes slowly moved to her shoulders, her chest and her body and slightly shook.

“I think you are ripe enough. Or am I being too eager?” he said, licking his lip. Nora did not know how to respond to that. If things continued to flame like this, she was sure they were going to spend a long time in the car.

She looked outside and saw a couple walking in. she pointed at the entrance.

“Are we going to stay in the car only? Or go there?” Alric did not take his gaze away from her face. But a smile appeared on his lips.

“Go one.” he opened the door for her. As if the eunuch had received an amnesty from the emperor. Nora jumped from the seat and ran out of the car.

But she paused when he did not follow her. Instead, he kept staring at her with those scorching hot eyes.

“Alric!”

“Hmmm?” he tilted his head leaving her speechless. Nora rubbed her neck. Why was she so flustered? They had done so much. She had never been so flushed even when she had touched his erection.

“Are you not coming with me?” she asked to collect her voice. Her own voice felt strange to her ears for some reason. Alric did not reply. He kept staring at her. Nora walked toward him and extended her hands.

“You know I am starving. I want to eat a pizza today.” only then did Alric chuckled and walked out.

Since they did not have any luggage with them, Alric booked a room and then took her to a restaurant attached to the resort.

Nora ordered two large pizzas and they both sat together. It was hard to look into his eyes.

“What is it?” she asked, looking at her pizza as if this was all she could see.

“My father knows where David is! He even has proof against Chris Bernard. If he offers help, you could take your revenge this instant. But if you fall into his bad books, he could contact your uncle and give him all the powers to stand against you. Are you sure you want to take the risk?” His voice was calm soNora did not know his emotions. But her eyes narrowed at once.

“Even if he makes it hard for me and I fail to take my revenge, I could not use you as a bargaining chip.” her voice was full of cold determination. She did not even hesitate for a second. “In fact, I want you to choose yourself. If you want to return… go! But do not return because he wants you to.” she held his hand and pressed them.

“You are not a pawn, Alric. Not a thing at his disposal. He had used you enough. Do not give him a chance to continue that.” Alric stared hard. A soft smile blooming on his lips. He was not the only pawn his father held. He used Ava Alex and others as his pawn too.

But he could not let Nora be his pawn too. He had to deal with him before he met Nora again.

“I understand.”
