Chapter 385: A Family

“No, we are going public and selling in the local market directly.”

“… I understand, Nora. I will contact the major dealers in the market.” Nora closed her eyes as soon as the call was cut.

Her fingers instinctively reached to dial Alric’s number but she stopped and bit her lips harder. She was getting too dependent on him. Making it a habit of calling for the slightest need.

Staring at the number for a long time, she put her phone back reluctantly. But the moment she placed it back, the phone started to ring. Her eyes gleamed, noticing Alric’s name. A smile appeared on her face unconsciously.

“Alric!” it was hard to hide the joy in her voice. Alric leaned on his chair and closed his eyes, revelling in her love.

“Mmm.. are the issues sorted out?” His drowsy voice made her heart ache.

She did not tell him about the issues even when he asked twice yet he had sorted all of them. A strange warmth engulfed her but it was full of worry.

“Alric, I have told you that I do not care. What did you do in exchange? I do not want you to bow in front of your father because of me.” Alric’s lips curled up. Strangely, even after helping his father, he was in a good mood.

“Ava called me, she is going to land tomorrow. Alex will come after a week.”

“Got it! I will come with you to the airport to pick her up.” he chuckled. Such intimacy, such understanding! Is that why couples could not let go of each other even when they argue all the time.

“Alright! Have a good day.” he was cutting the call already. Nora suddenly felt at loss. She did not want the call to be cut just like that!

“Alric!”

“Mmm?”

“Your father is saved from the legal procedures. Someone stopped the inspection. It was a girl.” Nora had not seen her face. Yet she felt an uneasy feeling since she had seen that girl.

“Hmm, I know. My father had many contacts. But he will replace all the machinery. So that accident you were worried about would not happen. And it will take a good amount of money, so he will feel bitter over it for a long time. So, your goal is completed. Do not worry about it, the accidents would never happen there in the future.” yes! She had already changed the future. There was no need to worry about other things.

“Alright!” Nora smiled as she hit her forehead with her phone lightly. “Fool! You are becoming a fool! Did you not say that you will not fall in love in this life.” she shook her head lightly.

Though she was the owner of the company, Alric was his guardian, so before becoming an adult, she could not sign any documents directly.

She picked up all the important documents and left the company early. She stopped by the supermarket and bought a lot of groceries. She was going to cook a feast for him tonight.

She hummed a soft tune as she filled her basket and walked toward the payment counter.

“Excuse me?” Nora paused and turned back to see a woman dressed in a white dress. She looked out of the place standing there in a branded dress and luxurious bag. She was wearing glasses and a mask to hide her face, yet her presence was eye-catching.

Nora had a feeling that she was the same girl though she could not see the face then and now. The woman’s face was hidden, yet Nora felt she was glaring at her.

“Yes..!” Nora walked forward in the line while replying to the woman nonchalantly.

“Nora! I have thought you would never be alone like this. Did your guard leave?” Nora paused. She had asked the girl to stay in the car since the market was safe.

“Do you know me?” Nora neither accepted or refused her words. But the woman did not seem to mind. She only smiled brightly.

“You have dealt with Amyra for good. I only want to say thank you. You do not need to be wary of me, little girl. Not yet! Here, this is my card. You might need it soon.” The woman placed a card in Nora’s basket when Nora did not take the card. The woman smiled and left without turning back.

Yet Nora felt a strange uneasiness rising in her chest.

“She was relieved that I got rid of Amyra.. Could it be that Alric had another lover waiting for him.” Nora shook her head. It was her turn and she paid for the things.

“Madam, is this card yours?” The staff respectfully returned the car to Nora.

Nora stared at it as if it was an explosive. She took the card and placed it in her pocket. The card did not have a company name or position. It only had a number in gold letters without a name. She walked toward the trash can and threw the card inside.

When she returned to her car, the guard was not there. She only returned when Nora had put all the groceries inside and settled down on her seat.

“Sorry! Nature’s call.” The woman spoke sheepishly and sat in the driving seat. Nora only smiled at the woman but her eyes were cold.

As the woman drove Nora to the hospital, she constantly looked behind as if someone was following them. Nora had noticed it a long time ago. But she pretended ignorance and continued scrolling her mobile.

The woman finally looked relieved when they had safely reached the hospital.

“You can leave now. Since I will stay at home with Alric, I will not need a guard.” the woman nodded and drove the car away after helping Nora in taking out her shopping bags.

Nora watched the car leaving with a cold glint in her eyes. She hummed a tune and slowly walked inside when a car stopped in front of the building. Two large men opened the back door and a woman came with a smile.

“Ah! You already live with Alric.”
