Chapter 386: I Am Pregnant!

“Why! Were you planning to live here?” Nora did not show humility this time. Since she was in her domain, she did not care who the woman was.

The woman in white paused, surprised that Noa replied back since she was behaving too submissive earlier.

“No! Living in hospitals where people die all the time is not my style no matter how luxuriously it was built.” the woman laughed softly, bemused by Nora’s actions.

Nora snickered and looked away.

“Since you do not want to live here, why follow me here? To give me another card?” she felt incredulous by her high and mighty act.

“Hmm, why would I waste that time when you have already thrown the earlier card.” the woman raised a brow. Nora paused, she was sure she had only thrown it away when the woman had left already. She was keeping an eye on her. Could it be that guard?

“Do you know who I am?” the woman asked again, looking impatient. “Did you not ask Alric about me?” There was something strange about the way she took Alric’s name. As if they were close! Too close. Nora felt fury rising in her chest instantly.

“Why should I ask about you when I do not care who you are?” Nora ignored her. For some reason, she was sure she would not like her reply.

“Tch! Such a fiery temper. I can not believe Alric chose you over Amyra.” the woman tched as if it was a pity.

Nora felt fury instantly. She was trying to control herself. But the woman was asking for it.

“Are you talking about my husband?” Nora asked, looking innocent, choking the woman on her next words. She stared at Nora from top to bottom and frowned.

“You are still a minor. You can not tie the knot.” looking at her frowning face, Nora finally felt better.

Ha! This woman looked at least five to six years older to Alric. How dare she think about him! Alric is sure to attract all kinds of flies.

“A knot is not necessary when I am still carrying his child. Since he is the father of my son. Would he not be my husband?” Nora declared in a proud voice.

The woman’s lips parted but no words came out. Her eyes were wider than saucers. Nora felt relieved in her stunned look and turned to leave.

The woman did not follow Nora anymore. “I should go and get good food for my child.” she rubbed her belly with warmth in her eyes leaving the woman stunned.

Finally Nora felt better after returning to her house. If Alric returned, she would not leave him easily. He had ignored her when she had asked about that woman. But she was sure he knew who she was!

Nora went to the kitchen and cooked the meal when her phone started to ring. She frowned when she saw Alric was calling her. They had talked earlier and she had not informed him that she was returning home. Could it be the guard or… Nora pushed the thought away and picked up the call.

“Hello!”

“Nora! What do you mean by “you are pregnant?” the exasperated voice took her by surprise. She had not expected the woman to confront Alric. What relationship did they share?

Didn’t Alric confirm there was no woman in his life.

“Alric!”

“Nora! Is it a lie you spoke to despite Debra?” Debra? The way he took her name had certain warmth in it that irked Nora further. Should he not be giving an explanation instead of asking for one.

“Why would I lie? Of course I want to give you a surprise but someone beat me to it. It is my second month. Congratulations!” She cut the call with force and threw the phone on the kitchen island.

Her eyes seething with fury! When he was talking to her, she heard someone coughing. Could it be that the woman was waiting for the reply and Alric had called her to clear the misunderstanding.

He dares! Now she would make sure the whole world knew that she was pregnant. Nora felt a strange fury and she did not understand why!

Benard had cheated at her with many women in the past. But except disgust and insecurity, she did not feel a thing. Victor had kissed another woman too when dating her. All she felt was disappointment.

But she had expected this to happen again. After all, it was hard for men to control their lower body. She stirred the soup with more force.

“Why am I even making a feast for him when he was with another woman!” her resentment rose in her chest. “I will throw the food on his face instead when he returns home. How dare he to cheat on me already”

She paced in the room to get rid of those negative thoughts when the door opened. She was surprised to see Alric there. He was sweating as if he had run there. But life was just a few steps away from their house.

“Why did you..”

“Are you really pregnant?” this fool! Looking at the yearning eyes, she wanted to beat him. How could she be pregnant when they have not done it. Could he not tell? What was he doing here asking for her confirmation?

She felt indignant and glared at him. She wrapped her hands around his chest and glared at him. Did the thought worry him so much that he had to run all the way here? Ha!

“Of course, I am pregnant. Do you think I will lie about such a thing?” She mocked him for his sincere eyes. Her anger rose in his chest. Fool! Such a fool.

Alric took an unsure step. He tilted his head and looked at her as if trying to pierce through her.

“What!” her voice rose in defence. “Are you regretting being with me now that I am pregnant? Alric! Let me tell you… aahhh!”
